Yes i currently live and work in the US and no i haven't said it was easy to get an MBA but nothing good in life is easy.

Also many of them who have good jobs pre MBA tend to get sponsored like my firm do with a commitment to return for 2 years which is a good deal for a top MBA.

I also know some Nigerians who applied from Nigeria e.g. I know a few at Kellogg here in Chicago. Was sit easy? No. Was it worth it, yes and can they earn a lot more then then $100k (N20m), yes.

As i said it all depends on where you are in life and the prospects open to you. For some the N20m makes more sense, for others it may not.

Not sure If i got the point you are trying to make. If not can you elaborate?

Wat I actually mean by d bank is dat, Nigeria bank payment is better when u remove tax, and other bills. Those in Nigeria would have more savings than those working in US bank. I work in the Consulting sector and know people who work in Consulting and banking etc in the US who earn 6 figures and those quite senior who earn 7 figures in dollars. it all depends. MBA grads entering consulting start on $145k excluding bonus so will they be impressed with a one off $100k payment? That depends on the individual.

For those who are earning lower level pay or who are business inclined and have good ideas, then you are right N20 million is something to be considered but it doesn't guarantee financial success. That N20 million can be multiplied in a few years or lost in a few years.

It all depends on the opportunities available to you.

Well somany might see no sense in this but i still would say it anyway. I currently live in canada with a green card and i work $23/hr and 40hrs a week, pls do the maths and calc how much i earn in a month....mind you, this is my first job and i am just 4mnths old in Canada. Somany would pick 20mill and think they would start a biz with it....yeah it makes sense, only that 20mill might not sustain you for a long time and dont forget that theres no extra income to care for your needs, which means you probably would be practically living on the profits made from the biz you are starting and who says the biz will even boom?....remember you have families too that would not let you rest from the fact that they heard that you just received 20mill ooo. As i am, i can travel to any country i so like....any country!
But just analysing the two things, i think the green card is better cos it would give you the opportunity to make a good living both for you and your immediate family and you can make a living that would save you 20mill at the long run but on the other hand, 20mill will almost never give you a green card even if you get successful at the long run. This is just ma opinion sha ooo

You are still very young in Canada, come back and share u story after 1 to 2 years. Am very sure u haven't started to pay all of ur bills. Imagine, just 23 Canadian dollar and no over time. YOUNG SHALL GROW

Ur home take is 1800 after tax. U pay house rent 700/month, light 80, gas 200, , car insurance 130, food 100, car loan 300 to 500 depending on the car. Water bill 50, trash 40, and other personal bills like credit card. So tell me how u wanna build a house in with 2 yrs when u still have to send money to ur people at home

Looking at things from another angle, 20 million naira is less than 200 thousand dollars and the average folks in u.s. go homr with about 50-80k dollars after tax.
The smarter choice would be the green card.
The easier choice is 20 million.

This Topic is a very interesting one which needs to be addressed. In my opinion, I think some of those rich girls need aNY guy be rich or poor to ask them out but there are some factors hindering it. The factors are

1] some guys are afraid of asking them out because of their financial status.

2] Most of those girls don't go to where a normal average guy can see n approach them. They tend to go to more advanced places like the coolest bars in town where normal guy can avoid etc.

Also, u said ur friend said something about Nigerian girls trying to play hard to get in abroad, but that's not true. They ain't playing hard to get over here. They are usually not serious when they are still young and in school. Always dating different guys, going to all clubs n bars. But will know want to marry after we have all slept with them. So who will want to marry a girl u know at least 4 to 5 guys have slept with?
