Grounded! Angry passenger stands on RUNWAY in front of plane to protest flight cancellation (and it takes security two hours to remove him) Man takes unusual action after his internal flight in Nigeria was cancelled Eyewitness reports that security didn't arrive for more than two hours At least two flights were delayed out of Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport One angry passenger managed to delay flights out of a Nigerian airport after stepping out on the runway in front of a plane. After finding out his flight from Abuja's Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport was cancelled, the flustered passenger decided to take his frustrations out by taking his luggage and entering the runway. Passengers on board an Arik flight to Lagos were forced to disembark after the man refused to move, with one eyewitness saying security failed to show up and it took the pilot to plead with the man before the plane could take off. At least two flights out of the Nigerian airport, one to Calabar and one to Lagos, were delayed by two hours by the man's actions. Passenger Cedar Chinwuba, who was on the flight to Lagos, posted a series of photos on Twitter as the scene played out. Speaking to MailOnline Travel, Mr Chinwuba said: 'It was very terrible. What came to my mind was that Nigeria Airport Authority needs to step up. 'For two hours, no security agent showed up. It got to the point the pilot announced that he had placed a call to Arik airline to send the Nigeria police but had no response. 'An announcement was made by the pilot that we couldn't take off due to some disgruntled passengers blocking the plane and he has tried to reach the airport security but no response. 'After a few minutes, he requested that due to security reasons those who wish to disembark from the trip should do so. 'Only in Nigeria issues like this happen and they never get penalised. 'One of the angry passenger I had a chat with stated that all they wanted was a senior officer of Arik coming to the tarmac to address the issue. 'It worries me as an airport user.' He explained that along with all the other passengers on the Lagos flight were told to get off the plane and that 'no Arik flight was leaving Abuja.' MailOnline Travel have contacted Arik Air, and are awaiting comment. The flight is believed to have taken off at 5.15pm local time, two hours behind schedule. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/travel_news/article-2975466/You-shall-not-pass-Angry-passenger-stands-runway-PLANE-protest-flight-cancellation-takes-security-two-hours-remove-him.html

The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, says his main contender, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, is an intern who lacks the executive experience to govern the state. Ambode, during the party’s campaign rally at Ifako-Ijaye Mini Stadium on Thursday, added that the job of governing the state was too complex for an intern. He described Agbaje as a pharmacist with just a chemist experience, who had been unable to grow his business beyond two shops. The APC gubernatorial candidate said, “The job of the governor of Lagos is not meant for people without experience like the PDP candidate. He has no executive experience; his experience is that he has only worked in his pharmacy. “He has not developed it beyond two shops. Lagos is too complex for an intern, we can’t entrust this state into the hands of someone who will experiment with it.” Ambode therefore urged Lagosians to vote for him in the April 11, 2015 governorship election, assuring them that he possessed the needed executive experience to govern the state and move it to the next level. He said, “Whatever project that Governor Babatunde Fashola has not completed, I will complete it; there must be continuity. We want continuity because Lagos is known for excellence. We will work together to make Lagos prosperous for us all and nobody will be left out.” The candidate also implored the residents to vote out President Goodluck Jonathan during the presidential election scheduled for March 28, saying allowing the PDP to govern again was to further destroy the country. Ambode cautioned the populace against the sale of their Permanent Voter Cards, saying it was their weapon to effect a change for good governance. Meanwhile, Christians in the Badagry West Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, have been advised to collect their PVCs. The President of Patriotic Christian Leaders Forum, Rev. Adefunmilayo Akitoye-Braimoh, made this call in Apa, Badagry, during an event to inaugurate the leaders of the PCLF in the area and to sensitise Christian leaders. Akitoye-Braimoh said the next election was important for Christians, saying they must have a say by picking up their voter cards and casting their votes during the elections. The president, who is also the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Christian Religion Matters, said the church must go beyond prayers by voting in good leaders. She also advised those who had their PVCs not to trade with it. The Executive Secretary of Badagry West, LCDA, Joseph Agoro, said residents who had yet to get their PVCs should visit their polling unit from Friday (today). source: PUNCH.

@ Miztyna, damcqute, etc. Can anyone please tell me the status of order R891960311 which was placed since 16th of september? I have called Konga customer Care severally just to know if it had been shipped and also find out if they suo motu cancelled my order since it has not been delivered till date. Its annoying I had to call them instead of the other way round. I must add that after patronising Jumia, I find they are better organised than Konga. |
Mztyna, I hope you will consider me when you have more v-codes as am interested in the 2gb/16gb version. I've expressed my interest in earlier posts(from page 33 I think) to which you didn't reply. I hope you reply this one. Btw, I don't know why I can't send PM to you as I tried severally to no avail. |
@galba2003 that code is already used. Where is Mztyna when you need her? *patiently waiting for the v-code earlier asked for* |
Miztyna I tried to PM you, can I have a v-code as am interested in the 2gb/16gb version? |
Does it also read & interpret abs & airbag codes? |
Although am not an ardent viewer of her show, I recall she once said she preferred to die under the knife (during cosmetic surgery) than regular surgery...her wish came true. |

Hello, Can I have a quote for clean toks of the following cars: Nissan primera 97-99 Nissan sunny 97-99 Toyota carina e 97- 99 Features: Manual drive Sedans and not hatchbacks Reasonable mileage, cloth seat All parts intact eg radio, lights, control knobs Factory AC, etc |
@ jayriginal The AC still chills in the afternoons..test running is still on-going.. |
I personally experienced back right tyre blow out on speed of about 130/140 km some donkey years ago and was able to bring the car to a halt without complications (Thank God). In the event that a front tyre suddenly blows out on top speed (God forbid), what is the best way to handle the situation? |
@ ikenna351 & smartchoice So far so good, the AC is performing well. Am still test running though.. |
It was discovered that the refrigerant was low and a top up resolved it and the ac now chills in the afternoons. |
Quite Interesting, especially regarding the stacking of regular paper head gaskets by our mechanics..thanks Siena. |
Hello house, I recently gathered that the popular style of doubling gaskets by our mechanics lead to loss of compression in the engine which affects its performance or something like that. Can someone please shed light on this? |
The following article clearly shows biometrics is not totally foolproof as it can be manipulated. FRSC, VIO, POLICE and others should bear this at the back of their minds as they rake in money from biometrics fad. During the launch, Apple claimed the new iPhone with a fingerprint sensor was 'much more secure than previous fingerprint technology.' Hackers became so keen to prove the tech giant wrong that a security researcher called Nick DePetrillo even set up an online race to be the first to bypass the technology. He was offering £10,000, alcohol and other prizes for anyone who could hack Apple's new range of security features. The German hacker, nicknamed Starbug, said: 'In reality, Apple's sensor has just a higher resolution compared to the sensors so far. 'So we only needed to ramp up the resolution of our fake' 'As we have said now for more than years, fingerprints should not be used to secure anything. You leave them everywhere, and it is far too easy to make fake fingers out of lifted prints.' Chaos Computer Club first published the steps taken to bypass fingerprint scanners in 2004 and they claim that it uses everyday household items - meaning anyone can do it. The method involves the fingerprint of the iPhone 5S owner being photographed from a surface, such as a glass, using 2400 dpi resolution. Chaos Computer Club breaks Apple TouchID More... ANOTHER bug in Apple's new iOS 7 software means a call can be made from a LOCKED phone by repeatedly hitting one of the buttons Senator Al Franken raises 'substantial' security concerns about fingerprint technology on Apple's iPhone 5S The image is cleaned up using photo-editing software, inverted and laser printed with 1200 dpi onto transparent sheet with a thick toner setting. Hackers then pour pink latex milk or white woodglue into the print pattern created by the toner onto the transparent sheet. After it dries, the thin latex sheet is lifted from the sheet, breathed on 'to make it a tiny bit moist' and pressed onto the sensor to unlock the phone. Features on software including zooming screens and app windows, full-screen slide transitions, a 'faux-3D parallax effect' on the home screen. As the phone is tilted, the icons appear to move independently from the wallpaper. Stuff magazine investigated the effects these motion-based features had on users and discovered claims of nausea, motion sickness and even vertigo. Frank Rieger, spokesperson of the CCC said: 'We hope that this finally puts to rest the illusions people have about fingerprint biometrics. 'It is plain stupid to use something that you can´t change and that you leave everywhere every day as a security token. The public should no longer be fooled by the biometrics industry with false security claims. Biometrics is fundamentally a technology designed for oppression and control, not for securing everyday device access.' Security expert Graham Cluely added: 'It’s worth remembering that fingerprints are not secrets. You literally leave them lying around everywhere you go, and they could be picked up by others. Relying on your fingerprints to secure a device may be okay for casual security – but you shouldn’t depend upon it if you have sensitive data you wish to protect.' Brazilian businessman inspired by Egypt's Pharaohs buries his £310,000 Bentley so he has can use it in the afterlife 'Count Scarpa' loves his new convertible Bentley so much he's burying it He's copying the Egyptian Pharaohs so he can have his riches in the afterlife He says he was inspired by a documentary he saw on Egypt. He has all the riches he could ever dream for in this life. But to avoid any risk of missing out in the afterlife, wealthy entrepreneur 'Count Scarpa' is burying his greatest treasure - his new £310,000 Bentley convertible. In a bizarre announcement on his Facebook page the 62-year-old declared that he plans to do as the Pharaohs of Egypt did and take his riches with him when he dies by burying them. So tomorrow, he will entomb his brand new Bentley Continental worth over £310,000 to make sure he has a comfortable journey into the ‘other side’. The funeral ceremony, he promises, will be at 11am. By the end of the week I will bury it' The self-made businessman, who has a degree in economics and is a black belt instructor and owner of the Institute Maruyama Aikido, a Japanese martial arts academy, explains that his decision to start storing up his treasures for the life beyond came after watching a programme on Ancient Egypt on Sunday. 'I was watching a documentary about the pharaohs of Egypt, very interesting. They buried his entire fortune to have a comfortable life "the other side"!' he says. Will he bury his parrot? After watching a documentary on Egypt on Sunday, he says he is completely serious and is going ahead with his car's funeral tomorrow Will he bury his parrot? After watching a documentary on Egypt on Sunday, he says he is completely serious and is going ahead with his car's funeral tomorrow. There was no mention of whether he wants his pet bird in the afterlife too By Tuesday his decision to bury his Bentley had received over 5680 likes and more than 6000 shares. On Wednesday, a new photo appeared updating his plans and shows just how serious he is. He’s pictured operating an excavator, in a cream coloured suit and lime green tie. It looks like he’s spent quite a few hours digging the grave. In front of him is very deep hole with a huge pile of dirt beside it. On the same day he reveals that he’s appearing on a satirical talk show on Bandeirantes television, hosted by Danilo Gentili – photographed with him, to talk about the funeral of his beloved Bentley. In the TV interview he explains to viewers that he was travelling back from his farm after celebrating his birthday on Sunday and started thinking about how the pharaohs were buried with the most precious items in their life. “I watched the film of the pharaohs and after seeing how they were buried with their treasures I decided that I wanted to copy them and bury my most precious item, which is my car,” he says. In between his explanation, viewers tweet their comments. One says wryly: 'Chiquinho, is it true you want to bury your imported car because you don’t want to pay your taxes?' 'No,' he answers straight-faced. 'I’ve already shown all my documents to the authorities before doing the funeral.' Another asks if he wants to adopt a family from Brasilia. He says he’s currently single and doesn’t want a family. A lot of the comments are however, very critical and accuse him of wasting money. Instead of burying his car he should donate the proceeds to help Brazilian people. ‘Maria Lucia’ sends a message begging Scarpa to send the car to her as she needs the cash. Scarpa has had a brush with death a few times, having been in a coma with a superbug, so he's hyper-alert to preparing for what comes after life Scarpa has had a brush with death a few times, having been in a coma with a superbug, so he's hyper-alert to preparing for what comes after life Others are sarcastic: 'This is nothing new. Chiquinho may be burying his car but the Brazilian government has buried the Brazilian people,' says one referring to corruption and the wealth of the nation being 'buried' in the pockets of bent politicians. Scarpa says he is not one of these corrupt individuals and has paid all his taxes, never been in debt or been bankrupt. ‘Alex’ on the other hand agrees with the crazy decision and tweets: 'I think you should do what you want to do, because it shows that you cannot take anything with you from this life and you might as well enjoy the idea of doing so. However, if you would like to help me with the social project I’m running, I would be very grateful.' Scarpa is not new to the idea of facing death. In 2009 he was in a coma for over two months after a superbug nearly killed him following a stomach reduction operation. He ‘died’ twice during the ordeal and was given the last rites on both occasions by a priest. In an interview with celebrity magazine, Caras, in January this year he said: 'When I had the surgery, I got a very strong bacteria that killed several people. I came close to death twice. The priest gave me two anointings. This was all because of bacteria. I took it and got away with it. Unfortunately this was not the case with my mother. She had an operation on her femur, got the bacterium and died in February 2012. I am strong,' he adds. Scarpa lives in one of the most expensive areas in Sao Paulo in a property spanning more than 14000m2. He inherited his title from his Italian-born father Count Francisco Scarpa who was given the honour by Pope Pius XII in 1949, for his charitable contributions to society. The eccentric businessman benefitted from his father’s wealth and made his fortune from the brewery and mining industry. He now runs an investment company and has been married twice. His first wife died and he is divorced from the second. He has even met Chelsea Football Club owner, Russian businessman, Roman Abramovich who invited him to visit his yacht in Capri, Italy, for dinner two years ago. With no children to carry on the family name Scarpa says his cockatoo, which is perched on his arm in the facebook picture showing him standing beside his Bentley, is his offspring. 'This here is my "daughter",' he said in the interview with Caras. 'She is called Filomena Leopoldina Sofia Scarpa. She is six-months-old and is endangered,' he said. The white cockatoo – which even has her own business card - is one of the most expensive birds in the world costing around £14,000. The Pharaohs were known for burying their beloved pets with them so they could enjoy their company in the afterlife. So far Scarpa hasn’t said whether he plans to do the same with Filomena.
