thanks....but it's find d two values of y and not x. The options are: 1&5, 2&5, 0&5, -1&5

If the equations are really 3x+y=8 and x^2+x-y=6 then none of the options provided is correct!

I have provided the two values of y in my solutions and they are y=1.27 and y=26.73

If it was the right question that I solved, then I'm sure my solutions are right.

I assumed that you meant <PRQ=30° which is most likely (as 30'=0.5°)

A boiler is an enclosed vessel by means of which water is heated until it boils or becomes steam. Boiled water is water at 100°c while steam is vaporized water, that is possessing latent heat of vaporization.
Applications of steam
1. For sterilization
2. As propulsive/ driving fluid(e.g in steam turbines)
3. In the production of corrugated cartons
4. As humidifier
5. In cleaning
6. As motive fluids in pipes and for piping operations
7. As atomizers, etc.

Types of boilers;

-Fire tube boilers
-Water tube boilers

Wow, intriguing!

Let's start from here; some two stroke engines use valves, an example is the marine two stroke diesel engine. In this type of engine the cam on the camshaft controls fuel injection and valve timing. Generally, 2 stroke diesel engines have exhaust valve(poppet valves)(may not use cams, though).

Not all schools require fmaths...as far as I know only Unilag insists on fmaths to study any engrng course. Although it is very important that you have a good knowledge of fmaths, you"ll find it immensely helpful.

Compressor is for air and pump is for liquid. The compressed air can also be used to pump liquid e.g a Ship's Hydrophore system works on that aspect.

let me narrow it that way, sir!

Nice one, compressors are used to increase the pressure of gases while pumps are used for the same purpose in liquids.

In ships hydrophore system however, compressed air is not used to pump liquid, an hydrophore pump(a kind of centrifugal pump) is used. What compressed air does is to provide head pressure above the liquid surface, head pressure ensures that water gets to the highest possible level.

Compressed air builds head pressure , so that water can reach up to highest level and remote places.
