OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ In the minor channels of the northern outer courtyard of one’s skull, [Stand] the six Queens of Yoga who enact the rites of wrath: Wolf-headed Vāyudevῑ, bluish green, and brandishing an ensign; Ibex-headed Agnāyῑ, reddish green, and holding a firebrand; Sow-headed Varāhῑ, blackish green, and holding a noose of fangs; Crow-headed Cāmuṇḍῑ, reddish green, and holding an infant human corpse; Elephant-headed Bhujanā, blackish green, and holding a bloated corpse; And snake-headed Varuṇānῑ, bluish green, and holding a noose of snakes. O you, the six yoginῑ from the north, who enact the rites of wrath, Perform the rites which utterly destroy the confused perceptions of the intermediate state!26

OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ In the minor channels of the western outer courtyard of one’s skull,[Stand] the six Queens of Yoga who enact the rites of subjugation: Vulture-headed Bhakṣasῑ, greenish red, and holding a club; Horse-headed Ratῑ, red, and holding a human torso; Garuḍa-headed Rudhiramadῑ, pale red, and holding a cudgel; Dog-headed Ekacāriṇῑ Rākṣasῑ, red, and holding a vajra; Hoopoe-headed Manohārikā, red, and firing an arrow from a bow; And deer-headed Siddhikarῑ, greenish red, and holding a vase. O you, the six yoginῑ from the west, who enact the rites of subjugation, Perform the rites which assure our independence during the intermediate state!25

OṂ ĀḤ ŪṂ In the minor channels of the southern outer courtyard of one’s skull, [Stand] the six Queens of Yoga who enact the rites of enrichment: Bat-headed Vajrā,23 yellow, and holding a razor; Crocodile-headed Śāntῑ, reddish yellow, and holding a vase; Scorpion-headed Amṛtā, reddish yellow, and holding a lotus; Hawk-headed Saumῑ, whitish yellow, and holding a vajra; Fox-headed Daṇḍῑ, greenish yellow, and holding a cudgel; And tiger-headed Rākṣasῑ, blackish yellow, and drinking from a blood-filled skull. O you, the six yoginῑ from the south, who enact the rites of enrichment, Perform the rites which enrich pristine cognition during the intermediate state!24

OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ In the minor channels of the eastern outer courtyard of one’s skull, [Stand] the six Queens of Yoga who enact the rites of pacification: Yak-headed Manurākṣasῑ, brownish white, and holding a vajra; Snake-headed Brahmāṇῑ, yellowish white, and holding a lotus; Leopard-headed Raudrῑ, greenish white, and holding a trident; Weasel-headed Vaiṣṇāvῑ, bluish white, and holding a wheel; Brown bear-headed Kaumārῑ, reddish white, and holding a short pike; And black bear-headed Indrāṇῑ, white, and holding a noose of entrails. O you, the six yoginῑ from the east, who enact the rites of pacification, Perform the rites which pacify our fears of the intermediate state!

OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ In the channel branch at the eastern gate of the skull, within one’s brain, Is horse-headed [Aṅkuśā], white in colour, carrying an iron hook and a skull. In the channel branch at the southern gate of the skull, within one’s brain, Is sow-headed [Pāśā], yellow in colour, holding a noose and a skull. In the channel branch at the western gate of the skull, within one’s brain, Is lion-headed [Sphoṭā], red in colour, holding an iron chain and a skull. In the channel branch of the northern gate of the skull, within one’s brain, Is snake-headed [Ghaṇṭā], green in colour, holding a bell and a skull.21 To you, the Four Female Gatekeepers, who are pristine cognition in emanational form, I bow down, make offerings, take refuge, and pray: As soon as we die and begin to transmigrate, At that very moment, when the visions of the intermediate state of reality dawn, And we roam [alone] in cyclic existence [driven] by deep-seated confused perceptions,May Aṅkuśā and Pāśā draw us forward, Obstructing the entrances to confusion through the four types of birth, And opening the doors to the four rites of pure enlightened activity. May Sphoṭā and Ghaṇṭā support us from behind, And thus [encircled] may we be rescued From the fearsome passageway of the intermediate state, And be escorted to the level of an utterly perfected buddha.

OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ Amidst an expanse of light in the eastern channel branch of one’s skull, [Stands] Gaurῑ, white in colour, holding a human-corpse cudgel and a skull; Amidst an expanse of light in the southern channel branch of one’s skull, [Stands] Caurῑ, yellow in colour, shooting an arrow from a bow; Amidst an expanse of light in the western channel branch of one’s skull, [Stands] Pramohā, red in colour, holding a crocodile victory-banner; Amidst an expanse of light in the northern channel branch of one’s skull, [Stands] Vetālῑ, black in colour, holding a vajra and a blood-filled skull; Amidst an expanse of light in the south-eastern channel branch of one’s skull, [Stands] Pukkasῑ, red-yellow in colour, clutching and devouring entrails; Amidst an expanse of light in the south-western channel branch of one’s skull, [Stands] Ghasmarῑ, green-black in colour, stirring a blood-filled skull with a vajra; Amidst an expanse of light in the north-western channel branch of one’s skull, [Stands] Caṇḍālῑ, pale-yellow in colour, [clutching] a human corpse and eating its heart; Amidst an expanse of light in the north-eastern channel branch of one’s skull, [Stands] Smaśānῑ, Hblue-black in colour, tearing apart the head and body of a bloated corpse.

The setting was entirely different from that at UCLA. We were in a large banquet hall with carpeting, warm colors, lots of people and heavy security around Rama. This was quite a contrast from the dimly lit, dingy, intimate atmosphere of the chemistry classroom back at school. And although the tone of the evening was more formal, and the distance between Rama and the audience was greater, there was an electricity here that was not present at school. Maybe it was this energy, or maybe it was the fact that it was my birthday, or maybe it was both or neither, but the meditation that evening changed my life. I don't remember if he played that lovely, alien music or not. I just remember sitting in the third row from the front, and really wanting to know whether there was any destiny between Rama and myself. I started the meditation with my eyes closed, focusing on my heart chakra, and inwardly asking the Universe to show me whether we had a connection or not. I sat this way for a time until at one point I saw a strange sort of metallic beam appear that originated at my heart chakra and ended at Rama's. I sat looking at this thing with my mind's eye; completely confused as to what this weird thing was. Then, just as if someone had poured kerosene on this beam and lit it at his end, I saw a golden fire race up the beam towards me, and engulf me. I saw the flames bursting in a sort of halo that covered my body, but stood about two inches off the surface of my skin. I could feel my skin flush, and my heartbeat accelerate. Well, I got so excited and amazed, that I forgot for a second that I was meditating. I opened my eyes, and saw Rama looking right at me! Too much! Much too much! Right then I knew without a doubt that something was definitely going on here, and that no matter what I had to do I was going to be part of it if he'd let me.

What causes us to change? Sometimes a piece of music causes us to change. Sometimes the way the light falls on a particular day. Someone says something - it opens a doorway for us. We find it happening without knowing why. Very often we try and reason existence. We try and calculate it; to discover it. And while we can certainly discuss portions of existence and we can discover layers of reality, yet we find ourselves straying very far from existence itself in its absolute form. We're out playing in the world of self-discovery. We're looking at different pictures in the gallery. Very rarely do we look in the mirror of the self. In t

There are objects that afford you power. For many people plants are very good. Plants have a power all their own. And if you make friends with plants, they have a certain strand of luminosity that in times of difficulty or transition you can draw from. Every living thing has a certain strand of luminosity. And everything that we see in the physical world is a result of that strand of luminosity. When you know how to you can go into the inner worlds and touch those strands of luminosity and connect them with your being. Right now you are a bundle of fibers, luminous fibers and your luminous fibers in your occult body are connected to other people, to places and so on. These are the so-called lines of the world that exist everywhere. They're the lines of power in the occult world that hold this reality into place. And we move along those lines, whether we're conscious of it or not. When you can see, when you reach the point where you can look beyond the physical, you will see these lines. They're actual. And you can move through them, everyone does. But you will find that you have connected yourself in a process of living to certain elements, people and experiences that drain your power and that you can also connect yourself with things that will help you.

When you go to a place of power with someone who is a teacher, someone who has a great deal of power, it's very easy to do this because they will lift you into another level of attention while you're there and it's easier for you to leave power there. Or, you might say, to draw power from that place. There are different ways of talking about something that's a little bit hard to pin down in words.

In your version of the world a man is one thing and a woman is another. Day and night are different. There is love and hate and good and bad. In my description of the world these things don't exist. These are ways of seeing that you use to ultimately entangle yourself in very painful emotions and your life lacks light. It lacks power. It lacks total being. A prescient awareness of all that is. So I present to you another way of being. A way that is not easy - however in my estimation it's much easier than the description of the world that you've been given which leads you to pain and frustration and incompleteness.

After all the interviews, all the books, all the CDs, when I cut through all the silly get rich gimmicks, the tricks that do not work, when I really boiled it all down, I found out that the wealthy think differently than the rest of us. That is why you could take all of Donald Trump’s money away and in just a short amount of time, because of the way he thinks, he would be right back where he is today. How Trump thinks, so is he. Billionaires think differently. They think differently about seven things in particular: Money, Investing, Jobs, Risks, Wisdom, Time and Problems.

The stuff he talked about while we were waiting was really interesting. Like he said that this was going to be his last incarnation on Earth. And that he was looking for as many of his old students to take with him to the next place we are going. He said that this is not the only world and there are many others that are much nicer than this one. Rama then began his comic routine to lighten us up. He told us a story of how he got his assignment to come to Earth. He was walking around the bardo one day. On one side were wrathful deities saying, “Come this way.” And on the other side were cosmic angels saying, “Oh no, come with us.” But he was stuck with this ticket to earth. He didn't know where Earth was, so he walked up to a big cosmic book that lists all of the worlds. Rama asked one wrathful deity if he had ever heard about Earth. The deity said a cousin of his went to Earth, but they had never heard from the cousin again. Sounds pretty bad to me.

There’s a science to the development of personal power that we call occultism, and it’s necessary to have a teacher for two reasons, if not three. One, the teacher empowers you and gives you the energy to get yourself going which is hard to get going on your own. [Two, the teacher] shows you what to do and what to avoid because there are as many pitfalls as there are -- there are actually many more pitfalls than there are -- correct moves. As you go into the different dimensions and different realities, you can become completely lost. You can do just the opposite. You can go down and not up.

I can sit absorbed in samadhi, radiate light, but it won't reach you. Only a certain amount will. Oh, a certain amount has to. It's just pure radiation. But the real ability to transform your nature and your consciousness, which I have, is strictly in your hands. In spite of all the things I can do, all the occult powers I have, still everything I do is based upon your ability to love. When you love light, you love God, you love your spiritual friends, your family, myself -- that ability to love opens a doorway, a channel, through which I can then do my magic. The more you love, every time you can love more, the more I can do for you. The less you love, the less I can do for you, even though I want to. You see, I have a disease, I fall in love with people. Because love is my way, it's the only way I know. It's not sensible, it's not logical. But love makes demands too upon us. It discriminates. The kind of love of which I speak is not necessarily a maudlin love. It's not a love that professes itself through vast phrases and adorations. It's a love that involves discipline and self-sacrifice. It's a love that will turn people away if necessary.

Now the problem with powers is not that they're bad -- of course there's this school of thought that says the usage of all mystical and occult powers is bad. I find that that thought is usually propounded by people who don't have any powers. It's kind of a sour grapes attitude. The problem with the powers is not whether they're good or bad, they're neither. They're just powers, like the power to do anything, to walk, to write a book. The problem is that whenever you use one of the powers, you're using it. And from the point of view of enlightenment, or the way to enlightenment, in order to achieve enlightenment, of course, we have to dissolve the ego, the sense of self. And if there's a sense of self present, it interferes with enlightenment.

Be absorbed

Very often it's necessary to actually destroy beings. I've done that many times, in the occult world. If I see a negative being harming one of my friends, it's necessary to destroy it, to vaporize it. You can't kill it; it will change form, but it's like destroying a virus or a bacteria, something harmful that seeks to destroy the life force in someone. You can't be emotional about these things. There is no emotion in the occult world. In the occult world there's only power and various uses of power. If your heart is pure, you will use that power only for the greater good of all and never to further or advance yourself. If you are impure, then you will use the power in impure ways, and a person who uses the power in impure ways will suffer tremendously.

Many people tamper with the occult. I have a number of different students who have in this life and in other lives practiced witchcraft and different forms of what I would call lower occultism. And when you practice lower occultism what you're doing is opening a door. Imagine that there are many doors within yourself and they lead to different worlds, different realities, and when you open the door that leads into the occult realm, it doesn't necessarily close. As you journey into the occult realm, as you explore that plane of reality, things that are in the occult plane and realm explore you.

There are various forms of spiritual practice. Naturally in some forms of spiritual practice we see that which is apparent. When someone loves God, is truthful, is kind to others, compassionate, we can see what appears to be the cause and effect. But the occult body is part of the realm of mysticism and it works through the occult fields.

To have the detached eye of the occultist, to look outward, to not be so self-reflective and to learn to step through the various viewpoints of consciousness – that we call occultism – leads to freedom

The kundalini energy enables us to do things that would not happen otherwise, to apply an occult pressure, to use energy to create effects perhaps thousands of miles away.

The second attention is the occult side of the being. It is the ability to manipulate others, be it for good or ill intent.
