Nairaland GeneralRe: Why Power Trips Off Whenever It Rains In Nigeria by Medoo: 7:09am On Feb 04
So do we just sit there and choose not to develop our electricity because it'll affect some people who are not trying to upgrade their way of living to that of the era we are living or do what's necessary

Ishilove:
Someone complained on X that there had been no power in Ikorodu since it rained, and a social media handle called Nigerian National Grid explained the reason why power goes off anytime it rains. At least in Nigeria. I don't know how it is in other countries

Another reacted: "Some people still sometimes have light even inside heavy rain, so how about that?"

PoliticsRe: 2027: Kwankwaso Stalls Defection To ADC Over Obi’s Ticket Uncertainty by Medoo: 7:25pm On Feb 02
Most of the comments I see here I believe are perception from people especially not from the north.

So as a northerner let me say this kwankwaso will definitely be and has to be Peter obi's vice because we've held on the power for 8 years (Buhari a Muslim), then it was shifted to the south(Tinubu, Muslim).

So the only way for us to have balance this time is for us to have Peter obi ( South, Christian, ibo for this first time in a long time) and kwankwaso (North trusted by northerners, Muslim) Vice.

I am a northerner and a Muslim too. This is just an unbiase view I have about the Nigerian political terrain.

PoliticsRe: 2027: Obasanjo Steps In, Plots Obi-Kwankaso Alliance by Medoo: 8:16am On Jan 06
It's better to have a vice that will sometimes checkmate the decision of the president. That is the only way the north can even confidently vote for obi, because they have someone they can trust close to the president. That's how Nigerian politics work, you can only get that vote in the north if the northerners trust you.
jumobi1:
Kwankwaso’s ego will prove too problematic for Peter Obi. Leading Nigeria is difficult enough. Our president’s need VP’s that are humble and respectful team players. Kwankwaso can bring in enough votes to win but he’ll frustrate Peter Obi and the administration.

PoliticsRe: Dangote Refinery Slashes Petrol Price To ₦699 Per Litre by Medoo: 3:40pm On Dec 12, 2025
You never knew you were being cheated, nothing like stability here. That's why it's a market, so many factors will always influence the price. Before if the price change, let's say it goes lower you still buy it the same while some people at the top go just pocket the money.

Foreign AffairsRe: Trump Orders Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro To Leave Or... by Medoo: 5:35pm On Dec 01, 2025
True you said but Sanctions made it also difficult for them to sell their crude, there is definitely a reason my bro. Just check it out. So what's not justifiable is the US invasion into Venezuela, who are not even amongst the Top ten exporters of drugs into the US.

RealLordZeus:
What i don't understand about this fentanyl war is , if there is no buyer, will there be a seller..
What happens to educating their citizens on the danger of abuse.. I once read a documentary where the CIA was fingered to be part of the trade.
If Venezuela was shut down today because of their drug export to US, there are many countries that will replace them.

Also, Venezuela is an Oil producing nation, the largest deposit, why are they exporting drugs when they have a God given natural resources that can be converted to fund

Even using civil defense is wrong. There should be private security companies they can hire extra muscle from not Nigeria's security forces.

You see, the idea of it all wasn't about the genocide or whatever. If Dem place sanctions now who go feel am? Err body right. So the resolution to this is to investigate and publish the names of this people. Make video evidence choke social media. E no get as e wan be, e go reduce. Individuals, private individuals go begin take actions themselves and nothing government can do about it.

BusinessRe: Total Number Of Customers Across Nigeria’s Electricity Distribution Companies by Medoo: 4:04pm On Oct 30, 2025
There is a huge deficit in this sector when it comes to revenue generation, they keep increasing tariffs when they are suppose to find a way to make it all inclusive to generate more money. I can't even mathematically approximate it to 13 million Nigerians out of over 200million. If 50 million people were to pay for electricity it won't warrant to increments of electricity bill.

DrMB:
This
new data shows the total customer count for all 11 Nigerian electricity distribution companies (Q3 2024).
2.58$ million customers for IBEDC! That's a huge slice of the 12.4$ million total customers across all 11 DisCos in Nigeria.
Is your service provider, like Abuja DisCo (1.27m) or Eko DisCo (0.72m), delivering on reliability for its millions of customers? What's the biggest power issue you face? Why do you think the customer count varies so widely across the different DisCos?

PoliticsRe: Katsina Holds Peace Talks With Bandits Across Five Local Council Areas by Medoo: 7:21pm On Oct 12, 2025
How do we find ourselves here , we talk about democracy and then we are negotiating with bastards trying to destabilize the country, the same bandits preventing Nigeria especially the North from reaching a significant milestone in farming, creating fear in the minds of its citizens from this Psychological warfare Discouraging investors and painting the image of Nigeria black outside.

OMO we are still joking, we need to understand the fact the people benefiting and sponsoring all this have sold their soul the the highest bidder. Dem no suppose see tomorrow if we know them today.

Will you guys agree with me that despite the fact that the military is corrupt, they'll never have allowed such?

PoliticsRe: Genocide: CAN Urges Justice, Protection Of Christians by Medoo: 10:12am On Oct 09, 2025
Your level of intellectuality is what I admire, you sound like someone who reads and understand global politics. I am a Muslim and never have such hate fo Christians. if I am to mention my 5 best friends 2 - 3 Christians will be included. I just wish Nigerians could look at the bigger picture and understand thr root cause of our problem
Ramon92:
This is not about religion (they dont give a damn about that), it's about power, politics and advancing their own interests where they see fit.

The same American Christians supporting the killing of Muslims in Gaza here saying nonsense.

They see Nigeria is gradually recovering and will soon pose a threat to their political and economic hegemony in Africa, in a near future multipolar world where their powers are gradually fading and Nigeria, has its always been, it's in a position to become a regional powerhouse.

They nearly succeeded with ethnicity as a violent weapon in the 1960s and 70s but we showed our resilience and after it became a mental war when that didn't work like in other African countries.

On our path to recovery, they gave us SAP in the 80s as a poisonous gift which finally crippled us.
MKO Abiola saw this and he became a threat to their interests, religious sentiments were involved and the rest is history.

Now another dispensation is here that's putting Nigeria back on track and religion is now their weapon again.

This is how it'll play out - they're quite aware of Nigeria security challenges, which is indirectly funded by them to target our Agriculture especially our food supply.

What do you notice the regions and areas with security challenges have in common? Farmlands and resource rich areas. That's one of the reasons we have food inflation over the years and have to depend on imports.

Same template in other major economic sectors.

They'll pass a legislation that'll limit Nigeria's access to get arms and tech needed to tackle the challenges under the guise of religious war, rights and whatever grammar they usually package it with, while at the same pass weapons and tech to the insurgents and term it religious war.

This will give them an excuse to intervene to 'protect religious rights' and its chaos all over again. They'll have cheap access to our resources and control our food supply chain leading to economic crisis since our government won't have leverage again.

Same template, same cycle..

It's time we Nigerians realize this and refuse to let any ignorant US Senator dictate how our collective future will be.
