Hey Guys.

Pardon my story but he fit long small.
Earlier this year I decided to go to Australia to obtain a masters of Human resource management. I opted for ecu. Edith Cowan University. The program consists of a 4 months pre masters program or course and upon completion I will start the 2 years masters itself.

I backed out of the program by listening to someone. A decision I'm almost regretting.. The person said it will be hard to get a job after completion.. Not true I think..

So my question us this..
The total programme will be 20 months study time.. Can I get a certificate course to make it 24 or 28 months after completion of the masters, to enable me get a good working permit.

After getting this permit or temporary residence.. Will I be able to get temporary jobs of 1 year , six months and the likes to build experience towards obtaining a PR. Or for my field is Australia a no no.. Please any advice is appreciated.. I'm 23 years old, IElts score 7.5 total band score.. Lowest was 6.5. I run a transport company and a pig farm.. Married this year with a little daughter on the way, due august..

B.A philosophy lagos state university.. Tuition is available for the full duration of study..

Please advice my brothers and sistrens!

Congrats to all those that their application was approved. For those that were delayed its not the end of the road. Emphatically I will like u to tell us your experiences step by step. To be specific, could you tell me how many notifications u receive after your biometrics.

I just submitted mine couple of days ago. Instantly I got 3 emails. After my biometrics same day I got another one informing me that my application has been updated. Though I checked my application but couldn't see any update.

Please is that usual?

Away from question, I will advise anyone coming for Fall to hasten up or else plan of deferring his admission because its almost late with regards to the stipulated processing time for applicants from Nigeria.

Nobody has a compiled list of courses that do not required experience for an assessment. What you need to do is to check any course you want to do to see if it is accredited by relevant assessing body. And also check if the occupation requires experience or not. I only know few such as Nursing,Radiography,Social Works,Accounting,Engineering etc.
Nothing is impossible but just that the reality is that they need you to either be PR holder or citizen before they give you opportunity. I know two people on student visa that are working full-time in multinational companies.
You will get 2yrs post-graduate visa if you study MSc-2yrs coursework. It is only MSc by research that you will get 3yrs.

Thanks a millions.. And your immeasurable help.. I have two additional questions for you..

1. How do I get a list of courses that do not require experience for accessment?

2. Is it that I won't be able to get a job without PR or it will be hard?

3. What if the company allows me to work temporarily for like a year or two? I'm aware Australia will give you a three year-working visa to gather experience if you study for 2years at graduate level and mine is 2.4 years..

I am fully aware of HR being on CSOL list but you still need positive assessment before you can apply for PR. And to get positive assessment from either AIM or VETASSESS, you need work experience. Where do you intend to get experience from? Perhaps, you have mind to go back to Nigeria to get it. It is really hard to get work experience in your field in Australia after study unless you are either PR holder or a citizen. Why not go for a course that doesn't require experience, that all you need is to gather your points and scale through the hurdle of PR? I THINK A WORD IS ENOUGH. Many international students that came over here did not know this until they locked themselves in and then it was too late for them.

Since you know your course is not on the list, why then do you still want to go for it? Well, I wouldn't close my eyes to see you make such horrible mistake. My advise will be you should consider a course that is on the list and do not require experience for an assessment. This has been emphasised over and over again but I still don't know why people keep making same mistake. Go for MSc Social Works-qualifying, it does not require experience. After the program, you are ready for your PR once you get your points. If you do, you will come bprovided you take that step.
