The Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed has described Saturday’s House of Representatives by-election into the Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun and Oke-Ero Federal Constituency as a contest between the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and security agents rather than among political parties, even as he expressed confidence of the party’s victory.

The contest was a battle between the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the PDP.

Alhaji Ahmed, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Dr Muyideen Akorede, said reports available to him from the four local government areas in which elections were held indicated wide-spread harassment, arrests and intimidation of PDP members and supporters by security personnel.

Governor Ahmed, however, commended PDP members and supporters across the federal constituency for standing their ground and defying the threats posed by the security agents by coming out to exercise their franchise at the risk of harm and arrest.

He said the heightened fear and intimidation orchestrated against PDP members and supporters and abetted by security agents led to voter apathy and poor turn-out in the areas that are traditional strongholds of the party.

Alhaji Ahmed expressed confidence, however, that the PDP will still emerge victorious in the by-election despite the large-scale disenfranchisement of its supporters during the elections by those with the constitutional mandate to protect them.

This claim was made by respected journalist, Eric Macruth, who works for French radio station, RFI.

Recall that Ronaldo and Messi were shortlisted for the Europe topflight individual prize last month.

Ronaldo and Messi have dominated the award for ten years now.

The pair had won an incredible five awards each, with Ronaldo equalling Messi’s tally last year.

According to Express UK, Macruth disclosed that Real Madrid midfielder, Luka Modric will win the 2018 Ballon d’ Or, while Real Madrid defender, Raphael Varane and Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe will be among the three-man final shortlist ahead of Ronaldo and Messi.

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari on Monday in Paris, France, has told Nigerians outside the shores of the country that ‘there are too many people talking lazily about restructuring’ and that they will not participate in the 2019 general elections.

Buhari, who spoke during the interactive session with the Nigerian community, made up of Nigerian Diaspora Organization (NIDO), All Progressives Congress (APC) members in France, students and friends of Nigeria, was asked questions ranging from restructuring, security, anti-corruption, education and opportunity for Nigerians in diaspora to vote in 2019 general elections.

The President said; “There are too many people talking lazily about restructuring in Nigeria. Unfortunately, people are not asking them individually what do they mean by restructuring? What form do they want restructuring to take?

“Do they want us to have something like the three regions we used to have? And now we have 36 states and the FCT. What form do they want? They are just talking loosely about restructuring.

“Let them define it and then we see how we can peacefully do it in the interest of Nigerians.

“They are just saying they want Nigeria restructured and they don’t have the clue of what the form the restructuring should be.

“So, anybody who talks to you about restructuring in Nigeria, ask him what he means and the form he wants it to take,” he stated.

On the participation of Nigerians in diaspora in the forthcoming elections, the President said the population of citizens in various countries across the world already necessitate their inclusion to elect leaders, noting that it might not happen in the 2019 elections as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had been more focused on strengthening and consolidating on its achievements of conducting credible elections within the country.

The newly sworn in Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide George, has said that the impeachment exercise carried out by 18 members of the assembly remains irreversible despite all efforts to intimidate them.

George stated this during a press conference in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, where he spoke on the crisis rocking the assembly.

The new Speaker who led 15 other members called on the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to take their petition seriously and take measures for the protection of lives and property against hoodlums to avoid chaos in the town.

The 18 lawmakers had on Friday, impeached Hon Bamidele Oloyelogun and Hon. Ogundeji Iroju, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker respectively.

Oloyelogun and Iroju were reportedly impeached over established evidence of gross misconduct, financial recklessness, abuse of power and incompetence levelled against them.

Hon. Olamide George and Hon. Faloju Abimbola were sworn-in as the new Speaker and deputy respectively.

The new Speaker said that the impeachment was an in-house exercise which has constitutional backing, saying it was not targeted at anyone.

George said that Oloyelogun and Iroju were not only impeached by 18 out of the 26 members of the assembly but also suspended.

He said that two other lawmakers who claimed that their signatures were forged are not saying the truth, having been induced with monetary benefits.

The Yoruba Youth Socio-cultural Association has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of selective justice.
The association said by excluding the names of Senators Iyiola Omisore and Musliu Obanikoro from the list of those purportedly banned from travelling outside the country, because of corruption cases hanging on their neck, was tantamount to selective judtice.
The two names are conspicuously missing from those affected by Order 6.
The group said this in a statement made available in Osogbo on Sunday by the President, Olalekan Hammed; and Secretary, Olawale Ajao.
They said the exclusion of the two politicians from the ban was a further confirmation that Buhari’s anti-corruption crusade was selective and one-sided.
The Yoruba youths expressed dismay at the exclusion of the two politicians who they said were accused of corruption.
The statement read: “The anti-graft war embarked upon by President Muhammadu Buhari since the inception is nothing but a weapon to fight opposition parties and critics.
“In 2015 when President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office, there were reactions from different angles that his anti-corruption war was aimed at targeting only the perceived enemies of government.
“The Presidency denied the allegation, and argued that no matter the parties they belong, all the corrupt people would be dealt with decisively.
“To our dismay, Obanikoro and Omisore, who have been charged with corruption, suddenly became saints as soon as they joined the All Progressives Congress.
“It is saddening to know that the names of the duo were not included in the so-called Executive Order 06 signed by Buhari and banning high profile public officials from overseas travel.
“His action affirmed the fact that the current anti-graft war is deceptive. There should be justice and fairness in the corrupt fight.”
It will be recalled that Obanikoro, who was accused of corruption while in the Peoples Democratic Party, has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Also, Omisore, who is a chieftain of the Social Democratic Party, assisted the APC governorship candidate in the September 27 governorship poll in Osun State to win the crucial re-run election in his stronghold.

Super Eagles Player Allegedly Batters Wife For Refusing To Take Her Call In His Presence

According to report, Super Eagles player, Shehu Abdullahi, has battered his wife, Sumayya Mustapha for not taking a call in his presence.

The incident happened, last night, at the couple’s residence in Sokoto.

It was gathered that the mother of one was on the phone with someone and cut the call when Shehu came into her room.



However, when the phone rang again, she refused to pick it because the husband was always eavesdropping on her phone calls with friends and family. She claimed that, at times, Shehu would hide to record her conversations.She also revealed that he is fond of accessing her phone while asleep to read her chats and take pictures of her chats.

She had enough yesterday and refused to pick her call in his presence, despite his insistence.

Angered by her refusal, he descended on her, leaving her with a bloodied eye.

Shehu Abdullahi was part of the Super Eagles team that crashed out in the group stage of the 2018 World Cup and currently plays for Turkish side Bursaspor.

How I was scammed by a Nigerian P astor Ikimi Onoriode (a.ka Pastor Onos Elijah Ikimi), living in Houston Texas

There are scammers everywhere, in our churches, workplace, family members, and a lot of times the victims are too busy to
expose it or they just “let go”. Moving on is ok but, the only problem is, we give these scammers the effrontery to continue
what they do and they can use the same trick for other people whom we might have just saved if we have told our stories.

This is the reason why I am telling mine on this blog. Although, I have filed an official complaint against him, telling the story
was still necessary.

Here is a summary of my dealings with Ikimi Onoriode :

I am a Nigerian, but resident in the Netherlands. On one of my visits last year to a friend, Mr. Raphael who resides in
Germany, (also Nigerian), he reintroduced me to Onoriode Ikimi (Onos Elijah Ikimi), who is also Nigerian. We all lived in the
same neighbourhood in Warri as teenagers’ way back. Raphael had told me nice stories about him on how he claimed to be
rich now and just bought a car for his wife. I was impressed at the success for a fellow Warri boy. Ikimi now claims to be a
pastor running his own church, IKIMI MINISTRIES INC in Houston Texas at 14101 Walters Rd Apt 701 Houston, TX 77014-
1314. He bragged that he owns and operates a Foreign Exchange (FX) trading company also in Texas, IKIMI FINANCIALS
LLC and also carry out trading on behalf of willing investors. To back up his claims, he sent Raphael screenshots of two of
the accounts he was trading, with each portfolio worth of $220,000 and $12,000 (both fake?, let us find out). We spoke on
facetime, and he had explained that he pays his investors 60% of their capital after 40days in succession. He bragged that
the 60% is inclusive whether he makes profit or losses. Well, for an investor, it sounds like a good deal, but also too good to
be true. But I convinced myself that if he was already handling bigger portfolios then he can handle mine. I believed him, and
considering that I knew him to some extent, I decided to invest. I requested that he sent me his company’s account to send
my capital, but he sends me a PayPal account bearing his name (ikimionoriode@gmail.com) to send my money. I made a
total deposit of $5000 in two splits of USD $2250 (on 26th July 2017) and USD $2750 (on 31 July 2017). At this point, I had
not noticed what he had done.

Upon receipt of the $5000, he acknowledged receiving the money and clearly stated that he would pay-out $8000 (which is
60% as agreed) when due.

The first and only reply from Ikimi

after sending the cash, but to my surprise, he was kind of dicey and at the end, he refused, and gave a very cynical reason.
He complained that he could not sign any agreement with me at the moment because I had paid money into his church
account (IKIMI MINISTRIES INC) and not his business account (IKIMI FINANCIALS LLC). At this point, I suspected that he
might a fraudster because he deliberately gave me a PayPal account bearing his name but registered under the name of his
church and not his trading company. Besides what is the difference, he operated both and could easily move money from to

another. I could not understand the logic behind collecting my money through your church account for a business with your
trading account. This was the first red flag. (See chat conversation). Finally, he was able to trick me that we should proceed
but would prepare an agreement for the next trade cycle (that is after the first 40days). I still felt a bit of discomfort on how he
tricked me with the account thing and decided to look him up on the internet. I found out he is into online pastoral begging in
Texas for donations (https://twitter.com/onoriodei, https://www.gofundme.com/children-with-cancer,
https://ikimiministries.givingfuel.com/ikimi-ministries). Everything looks sketchy now. Well, money has already been sent, I
should have done this before sending and not after. Now, all I have to do is wait and see.

ATBU Post UTME Screening Date 2018/2019 and their Cut Off Marks. Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi have unveiled details of her 2018/2019 Post UTME Screening.


ATBU Post UTME Screening 2018/2019 Requirements
All prospective students of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi who participated in the just concluded JAMB examination are to be aware of the instructions herewith provided.

ATBU Post UTME Screening exercise is for all those that selected ATBU as their 1st and 2nd choice during JAMB.

The date for the ATBU post UTME screening has been scheduled to close by September 20, 2018. All application must be filed in at the University portal on or before the said date.

The form for ATBU screening is pegged at N2,000 only and as such, all prospective students are to take note.

Only student that selected ATBU during JAMB will be entertained.

Please Note: As at the time of writing, the cut off mark for ATBU was 180

How to Apply for ATBU Post UTME Screening 2018/2019
All application for the ATBU post UTME Screening has to be channeled through the University. And as such, make sure to feel all appropriate details well.

All candidates are to visit ATBU Post UTME screen portal via the admission section located here http://www.atbu.edu.ng/#/admission/admissionlogin
Once on the Page, fill in all relevant information as pertain to your admission. TYPE in your JAMB Registration Number to LOGIN
Once Logged on, you are to generate your RRS number (Remita Retrieval Reference Number) – This is what you will use in paying your screening form.
Only Pay using the school’s accredited channel!

What NEXT after Payment?

Attach all relevant documentation including a recent passport photograph.
Once all entries are filled, please print a copy of your form.
