During his meeting with the president, the governor, spoke on the ongoing tension in the National Assembly and has urged that the South East be put into consideration in the National Assembly as it will create a nation of imbalance if the region gets sidelined at the legislature. Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has expressed his fears for the All Progressives Congress (APC) under the leadership of Adams Oshiomole as he has stated that he fears that the party will experience a major setback in the 2023 elections. Speaking with journalists, the governor of Imo state, accused the APC chairman of reducing the party to a "regional minority party in the country". Citing reasons being that the party does not have any South East governor in the APC as a result of Odhiomole's mistakes. He described it as a matter of urgency for the party as he noted that the party has been reduced to a minority in the South East region. The immediate past Secretary to the Ebonyi State Government, Prof. Bernard Odoh, who resigned his appointment in controversial circumstances in April, has said projects being executed by Governor David Umahi are not meant to benefit the suffering masses in the state.
