SINCE Ruth Eze came into the movie industry a few years ago, her profile has always been on the rise, and today she’s one of the actresses to reckon with.

However, reacting to the rise of homosexuals in Nollywood, the University of Benin graduate and Imo State-born role interpreter said that she would never be pushed to be a part of such immoralities.

But when pushed further, Eze confessed that her burning, lustful passion for sultry actress, Genevieve Nnaji, could make her have a re-think.

Hear her: “Only Genevieve Nnaji can make me throw caution to the wind and become a lesbian, but fortunately she is not. I am obsessed with Genevieve. She makes me wet! If she tells me to become her partner today, I’ll apologise to God and jump at the offer.

“Anyway, I’m not a lesbian but I am not against them. If they believe they can stand the consequences (of their actions), then they can do whatever they like with their bodies. I have good boobs that both men and women admire and can’t seem to take their eyes off me. My fellow ladies always harass me, to get intimate with them, but I haven’t tried such.”

Ruth Eze is a talented actress cum scriptwriter, whose mum did not initially approve of her coming into Nollywood until she assured her that she would not disappoint their family.

Talk about being at the right place at the right time. According to the prolific photographer, everyone thought she is a model but that's not the case. Her appearance on the photo was pure coincidence. TY Bello is determined to find and help her kick start a modelling career..

The federal government of Nigeria has said it has no plans to increase company taxes or Value Added Tax in the country despite the dwindling oil revenue.

However, government would do all it can to ensure that Nigerians pay their taxes as and when due, Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo Udoma said.

He said that the budget is geared towards stimulating the economy and promoting inclusive growth and that the federal government would build an economy that is less vulnerable to oil price shocks by creating resistant divested income base and creating efficient public financial management system.

He said that government would partner states and local governments to recruit, train and deploy 500,000 unemployed graduates as teachers.

He added that the Vice President’s office was also working to design an implementable and transparent conditional cash transfer programme of 5,000 Naira monthly to one million poorest and most vulnerable.

I've been expecting this news to reach frontpage... it happened around 5pm... and it hit frontage at past 11... leaves me to wonder... what is the problem with Nigerians...

1. from 5pm to 11pm...but irrelevant topics have reach frontpage... such as faces and cleavage of celebrities...

2. I think the fact that an explosion occurred in a very clustered area of surulere and nobody dying is bad news... because I can't phantom an reason why such news shouldn't be grazing frontpage early on...

3. Nairaland needs to get its priorities checked... good thing we living in surulere are proactive... we douse a major incident early... without waiting for nairaland to call the fire fighters for us...

4. I'm pretty sure if the site had images of charred bodies and gory pictures... it would have hit frontpage early to garner more traffic...

Thank goodness... January 28th would be a black day for a lot of people... to everyone that lost their properties to the inferno... may God provide in multiple folds... the saying "when there's life..." comes to fore...

In an article titled “Nigeria’s economy Crude tactics”, the newspaper said:

Buhari’s government has cracked down on corruption, which had flourished under the previous president, Goodluck Jonathan, an ineffectual buffoon who let politicians and their cronies fill their pockets with impunity.”

Below is the full article. Meanwhile, Nigerians have taken to Twitter to show their disapproval of that statement.

“MORE than 30 years ago, a young general swept to power in the fifth of Nigeria’s military coups since independence in 1960.

The country he inherited was a mess: bled dry by pilfering politicians within and hammered by falling oil prices without. Last year that general, Muhammadu Buhari, became president again—this time in a democratic vote. The problems he has inherited are almost identical. So are many of his responses.

In the eight months since Mr Buhari arrived at Aso Rock, the presidential digs, the homicidal jihadists of Boko Haram have been pushed back into the bush along Nigeria’s borders. The government has cracked down on corruption, which had flourished under the previous president, Goodluck Jonathan, an ineffectual buffoon who let politicians and their cronies fill their pockets with impunity.

Lai Mohammed, a minister, reckons that just 55 people stole $6.8 billion from the public purse over seven recent years.

Mr Buhari, who—unusually among Nigeria’s political grandees—is said to have just $150,000 and a couple of hundred cattle to his name, abhors such excess.

As military ruler he jailed, fired or forced into retirement thousands of bureaucrats whose fingers had been in the till. This time, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested dozens of bigwigs, including a former national security chief accused of diverting $2.2 billion.

The EFCC has a poor record of securing convictions; but a single treasury account has been introduced to try to stop civil servants siphoning off cash. And agencies which may not be remitting their fair share to the state are having their books trawled by Kemi Adeosun, the finance minister.

Such measures are doubly important because the economy is swooning along with the oil price. The sticky stuff directly accounts for only 10% of GDP, but for 70% of government revenue and almost all of Nigeria’s foreign earnings.

This evening was a terrible day as a filling in lawanson gutted fire, The fire outbreak occurred at a MRS fuel station on Lawanson street in Surulere but has spread to nearby buildings but thanks to God as the fire as been quenched... No Life was lost as seen but some people were injured seriously...
