When it was booming, what did they do with it.

It is Tokunbo or Nigeria used?
And can it go for 3.8 Million?

Based on my experience in the last car service in Osogbo, I want to awaken all car users to be vigilant when they visit a mechanic workshop. I traveled for yuletide from Abuja in December 2022 with my CRV 2008 model car, I had 2,000 kilometers left before the next service, and I decided to service in Osogbo. I bought semi Synthetic mobile oil and a white oil filter, essential items for the service. I handed them to the mechanic and the service was done while my friend and I were discussing beside the car. To my amazement, I warmed the car the following morning, and I noticed a knocking sound for a few seconds, and I kept wondering where the sound was coming from.

Because the sound doesn't happen every time, I decided to drive back to Abuja; maybe the system would reset. I arrived in Abuja, and the following day, I checked to see if it had disappeared, but to my surprise, it had become longer. I drove to Apo mechanic, and different suggestions were coming from other mechanics, ranging from a lousy camshaft to a weak Oil pump and different names.

To God be the glory, a thought just came to my mind that I should change my oil and the oil filter since the issue started just after I serviced. To my most resounding surprise, the oil filter I bought, which was white, eventually became blue, and the oil was so black, like it had not been serviced for months. I later discovered the mechanic in Osogbo exchanged the filter while under the car for a dead one. Please, my people, if you have to bend and confirm the parts they are changing for your vehicle, please do. God just saved me from 750k, which would have been the cost to replace my engine because of the 1k oil filter.

Many reply here have actually said enough but just a little thing to add. I was a fan of German cars, my first car was Golf 4 while my second was Passat 2007 model, both are smooth, lovely ride and very strong too but my conclusion is, we are not ripe to drive those cars in this type of environment like Nigeria. My worst experience concerning my Passat made me changed my mind to go for Japanese cars. I put my Passat on sale for almost 6 months in fact, I later sold it like begging the buyer for just 400k, I won’t want to go in to details. So I decided to buy Lexus Es330 but something happened and I later settled for Tokunbo EOD 2005, settling for the Honda was d best decision I ever took cuz I enjoyed d car so much that I hardly spend money on repairs. I travelled to Maiduguri with d car 4 times, Abuja and Kaduna I lost count and I came to Ibadan once. I used the car for almost 2 years and I sold it in less than 2 hours that I put it on sale. German cars are difficult to repair especially in the north where I reside but they are sweet on the road that I can guarantee. In fact, if German cars are to enjoy the same privilege that Japanese cars are enjoying in terms of parts and repairs, few pple will go for Japanese cuz in terms of safety, cool ride, stability and d rest I give it to German but they don’t have resale value and better mechanics. If u want to sleep well at night, my brother, go for Japanese cars. I rest my case.

U know women mostly don’t care about car maintenance. It might b that the car was last serviced last year. Even if the odometer has been doctored, it might still be less than 200k for real. The check engine might be catalyst ( Indomie) in Nigeria language. Let a panel bitter check it and d other sign stands for Day running light. It’s either d bulbs are bad, fuse or relay. D engine is K24 which is quite rugged and can move very fast. Just do all necessary checks, u won’t regret buying.

Not at all. AWD system stands for All wheel drive. AWD always driving all four wheels but many 4x4 systems need to be activated by the driver, I haven't heard of any complain from pple driving AWD for CRV. Do your personal homework and let pple who owns from 2007 - 2010 talk about their experience. Am not sure CRV have 4x4 but AWD yes.

Go for Honda CR-V 2007 - 2010. U will enjoy d ride. Especially AWD EX-L

Yes mine have them all. Exl is full option of CRV.

I thought am the only person that did thorough findings regarding this car for weeks. But I must tell u, it’s such a cool ride. Especially, the full option that have navigation, open roof and leather seat. U have made d right choice bro and u will enjoy the car.
