Sister I understand you perfectly well but until our parents understand that we are in a new age what we the kids have to do is to live that life of sacrifice till we stay on our own...I've walked that path and I'm living fine all by myself now and still attending the church...I still watch my darling Real Madrid and I don't joke with any Nigeria match whatever grade....just finding my way to satisfy all parties....the bible said " obey your parent in the lord for this is right"...we just have to obey them...and all the leaders that meet me are always proud to relate with me and know my mum...in fact all of them call me their son....I'm even toying with the proposal of joining the workforce....

we are the ones to bring the much needed "adjustment" to that body....God will help us...

Am guessing you are male and if my guess is correct am not surprised you are "toying" with joining the "workforce" and even contemplating getting married in DLBC even with all d toned down "marriage committee dos & don't's".
The female members got the worst end of the deal!

@Op, I think I need to meet you one on one...... agreed your mum is harsh but the sad truth is she wants the best for you and don't know how else to go about it but being direct....
I'm a deeper lifer too...and my mum has been a choir up till now and added to that, she is a woman coordinator....she was kinda direct in bringing us up (4 of us)....and guess wat, I came out d better for it...
See these people telling you to rebel don't know what they are saying cuz d Bible said, a child left to himself will be a disgrace to his father...its a fact your cannot allow youbdo things your own way, but you know adults now, they'll want their decision to be your actions...
and another thing is, if you are a real deeper lifer, you'll understand that we the children of leaders don't have a life of our own because the progress of our parents in the church is tied to how well we the kids are living the "proper" life we are meant to live...and as you know, it will be a disgrace if your parents are suspended from being a worker just because of your own "wayward" attitude...I can understand them but its not the perfect way for them to curb your excesses.......

Mr "real deeper lifer" is it suppose to be about the "progress" you or your parent make in the church or about your personal Christian race to heaven? God is not interested in your denomination or status in the church or whether you were in this or that position? Remember "by their fruits ye shall know them" and if you manage to get to heaven by the skin of your teeth, your so-called work will be tested by fire at the bema seat.
So don't get it twisted!

I truly understand what you are going through and have been going through all this years because I grew up in DLBC too and in my case both my parents made life difficult. And yes I was depressed and angry for years. I can tell you it is worse if you are a female member; Well, my mama made sure I shaved my head because I had my hair relaxed some weeks before resuming my first year in the university and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Thanks everyone for your response. I actually got an inside information that NUC didn't approve the take-off of GEOLOGY DEPT for this academic session, hopefully next year. I don't know about other new courses. Wishing everyone all the best and a breakthrough soon.

Please this is an appeal to anyone who has any news or update about the the recent. Massive recruitment at LANDMARK UNIVERSITY, Omu-Aran, Kwara state. I happen to have applied for an academic position (geology dept) but hasn't got a test invite or any news whatsoever. The school has already resumed since Sept 14,2015 and being a private school; am sure action will/should have been taken by now. I appreciate your input.
