@Adek65, this is the environment where I do keep my snails, but I allow them move around, because of the green leaves within their cage.

Good afternoon friends, what is happening in your vicinity right now. Let's share and discuss. |
Snail farming is known as the rearing of snail for personal or commercial uses. Snail farming is a big business that has remained untapped as little is known about this business. I started a snail farm during this lockdown and I would be sharing my experience and knowledge so far. Starting a snail farm is quite cheap, the materials required can be gotten from within you if you wish to start small, but if you intend to start big you must part with some amount. Materials 1. Water drum, bucket, or a bare soil(loamy soil) 2. Fill your water drum or bucket with enough soil 3. Perforate the drum or bucket for air to enter, but not big enough for the snail to crawl away 4.Make sure your soil is always wet, because the look a wet surronding. 5. Keep away from sun rays as this could cause dehydration, infertility or death. Feeds 1. Fruits( apple, paw-paw, water melon) 2. Green leaf ( cocoyam, paw-paw, plaintain leaf) 3. Spicy food 4. Feeds Things to avoid 1. Sun rays 2. Pest( lizard, snake, rat) 3. Dry soil Breed 1. Achatina fulica 2. Achatina achatina (recommended) 3. Archachatina marginata Profit. 1. Snail meat: household, hotel's, restaurant, bars 2. Slime: used in making beauty products (facial cream) 3. Shell( when grinded and mixed gives household washing agent, feed ) 4. As pet. NOTE: maturity of snail is between 7 - 9 months, when it lays it lays much. Be patient, bacause it must pay. Invest today Reap tommorow |

Many nigerian youths, dislike agriculture as a business or a job for them it is below standard, but you fit chop food, u fit eat meat, suya chopping na ur hobby. Agriculture is a great way to make money, there are many sectors to venture into foodcrops, farm animals, fishery, snailery, animal feed, agro tech and so more. Dangote! Dangote! Wetin dey gave am the billions(agric na part of he hussle). Start a farm today, tommorrow dat farm go feed you, HAPPY SUNDAY. |
Am out to satisfy a need. Work has started toward building an agro platform for agro personnel, this is a social interactive site aimed at educating, building co-operation and partnership and making agric what it. I need your feedback, thankyou people. |
In today's time, technology is a major player of growth, development and connection, it is shaping up the world and giving us a new perspective. As agro personnel one way to grow is to embrace technology for it helps either software or hardware, it would go a long way in showcasing your business and also making work easier for you, the future of agriculture would be more technological. |
abbeycial:Thanks, I would post more |
Neduzze5:I think we need a platform to connect all agro personnel |
I need your opinions on how technology has shaped the Nigeria agriculture sector. |
I love poultry farming so much, because it is so large and encompassing, but we in Nigeria focus manly on products like the chicken and egg we get from this bird. I would love to open our eyes to many opportunities been untapped in poultry farming. 1. Excreta of this birds; the waste of birds has many useful purposes, but we in Nigeria do not know this waste in large quantity could be used to generate electricity, making of fertilizer, making of animal feeds and so on. 2. Usefulness of broken eggs: broken eggs can be used for making useful household wares such as vim etc. 3. Processing of chicken: Not everyone want a life chicken, if you can start processing and packaging of chicken, it would go a long way. Let's dominant this market |
The Nigeria food market has the power to dominate the world, but first certain things must be fixed before this can be achieved. We need to build a strong connection around our agro system and its personnel. |
Agriculture in Nigeria is misinterpreted, agriculture in Nigeria is solely about farming but this sector is more than that, in this same sector we have the processing, packaging, storage segment and so on. The agric sector in Nigeria is big so let's tap into it and make it profitable. |
