Your brother will only act or bend if he discharges you and another person cheats him. If you talk with him, you would only get promises. If he starts you on a salary he will pay for sometime and then stop. Generally people find it hard to give siblings money except in circumstances. Lets say you want to wed your brother will give you 10m because there is a feeling he owes you as a sibling.
So you have 2 options. Create a value chain around what you do especially for services. If the pop man say 50 naira, double it and give him the quote. The 50 naira on top is your cost of supervising the pop man. If carpenter say 50, double it. Agree with these guys on this .In that case your charges for managing the site are embedded in this extra cost. Dont add money on materials o. Because your brother knows. But for service double the money. Remember with exchange rate, these are peanut to him

Please you can advice here too, I don't want to go extreme yet. I want to have a friendly discussion with him first then the outcome determines what I will do next.

Either bounce or go into the dirty business of site management. Cement is also now expensive these days if you get the point.

I just want to know if the monthly salary or the daily pay which is fair

If it is commercial house, continue to dey manage the site, maybe if he finished building the house, you may take one flat unit of the house, you know what that means..

If na village house and you never build you own, my brother relax the house still belong to your family, so you are helping the family and not your brother specifically..

I'm single and the building is in the village, I always have to leave Lagos every time he wants me to continue with his building.

Bro it's his personal building because that house belongs to him, he can walk me out anytime he pleases. We have our family building.

the thing is that if you complain he might discharge you and look for someone else. The way you are thinking, is not the way he things. The 100k he sent to you is peanut to him. You would be shocked he sends more to others who are not doing much for him. You are a site manager and you deserve better. If your brother is not ready to give you a better offer, please look elsewhere. However, i will like to see what you do. You can dm me.

I noticed too he has been looking for a way to discharge me because his building is almost completed just the finishing is left.

He gifts people more in my face, he once asked me to send a man 400k but promised to settle me later only to return to the UK and sent me 7k and told me, it wasn't the money he promised that he'll send that one later till date I never received anything.

This is what I'm noticing now, sent me to driving school because he promised me a car since then lots of excuses even the business he promised to establish for me whenever I bring it up he makes excuses like I'm still working on my building or I did dis or dat recently.

He blames it on me later that I'm not serious because I never brought it up or disturb him about it. I'm someone that hardly disturb people and he knows it.

Please I need help from those who have wide experience or have done the job before or how to go about it with brother so I don't sound rude.

I leave home everyday but I can't boast of 5k in a week the money he do sent me isn't even enough for my daily expenses In the site not to talk more of my personal needs.

I didn't start this job for the money then, I just accepted when he told me about the position as my senior brother, but now I think he's taking advantage of me.

He lives in the UK and all his promises towards me none he has fulfilled always making excuses though he has sent me 100k twice to solve my personal problems within that 4yrs+ with him. When he comes back he spent 200-300k on drinks with friends and relatives every single day but when he's going back he'll promise to send me some money and he'll never fulfill the promise.

My friends told me their bosses placed them on salaries when they were site Managers even some claims their bosses pay 5k them every day to manage their site.

I'm planning on speaking about it with my brother so I need advice on how to go about it

I've a construction site I have been managing for my senior brother, since 4yrs+ now around Jan. 2019 till date.

I'm a very sincere person and since I started managing that site till date I've never done any deal above 20k, I pay all the worker their fees I always find a way to pay them off and I never short any of the building materials. I have turned many proposals from his Engineer till date that man respects me a lot.

At some point he trusted someone over me and that person brought a lot of dispute between both of me at last, he was caught after making a deal of over #298k just him alone no one else was involved.

After this incident he has turned back to me but now he questions everything I do, I even went ahead to video all the materials I buy. A worker advised me to stop that, any little thing at the site he'll start making some kind of ungrateful statements which always pissed me off.

My problem now is that he hardly gives me money imagine giving 5k for two weeks, 10k for a month or more. Even in the regime the last money he sent me last week Saturday which is 5k till now.
