I met this lady (a doctor)
4 months ago. I'm 35, she is 31.
She told me she was a virgin and I believed her because of how she carried herself. I was very happy and rushed everything – introduction, engagement, and marriage plans (I promised my mum that I would get married before December 2026). We were supposed to do our traditional marriage in one week’s time.

Last week, I received an anonymous WhatsApp message. The person sent pregnancy test results showing that my fiancée was pregnant for her ex-boyfriend during her 1-year residency. She had told me about this ex, but said they never had sex, and that was why they broke up.
I confronted her with the message. At first, she denied it and said it was fake, someone trying to spoil her name. But when I said I would call her best friend to confirm, she broke down and confessed the truth.
She admitted she got pregnant for the ex, aborted it immediately, and promised herself never to have premarital sex again. She said she was ashamed and didn’t want to lose me, so she lied about being a virgin.
Now I’m confused and heartbroken. I love her but the lies are too much.
On the other hand, I have already invited many people – including the chief of my village and my manager at work. Cancelling now will bring serious shame and talk in my village and workplace.

Please Nairalanders, what should I do? Should I go ahead with the marriage or cancel everything? Has anyone been in this kind of situation?

Everybody just they rush Nigeria. The rest of the world are surprised at how we’ve been able to flatten the curve and turn around our extremely bad economic situation of 2023 around to now become one of the top ten contributors to global GDP growth in 2026.

Even Donald Trump who was an adversary just a few months ago is now going about rooting for Nigeria. Multiple international corporations are all announcing plans to invest billions in Nigeria and now we are having world leaders inviting our president for state visits almost every other week.

Apart from the politically instigated insecurity, Nigeria is on a positive trajectory in all areas. We must ensure this progress in sustained and not derailed.

After defeating the stubborn spirit of masturbation, I stopped experiencing sexually related attacks in dreams for a while, hence thought that was good enough.

However after experiencing such attacks once again in a dream several years later to my shock, I was utterly disappointed and saddened by the development.

It led me to ask God why and how such could still happen after I had overcame masturbation and supposed to have totally closed the door to such attacks.

Immediately I heard a Voice say, "is it not you that opened the door?"

That question caught me off guard because I wasn't expecting it to be my fault that they could still have access to my person to perpetrate such attacks.

I began to think how possible I could have opened the door to such sexually related attacks without committing any sexual sin, including masturbation.

It was later I realized that I had earlier opened a video which appeared on my newsfeed on social media which I think showed a scantily clad lady dancing seductively.

But although it didn't lead me back to masturbation, it seemed that was enough to open the door and give access to demons.

Hence I learnt defeating masturbation wasn't enough but one must also defeat the spirit of pornography to be totally free such attacks, because pornography also opens the door to demons.

I’m on the verge of being rusticated in school

October when I was writing my final exams, something happened just 1 day to end the exam. So me and my friend wrote on our question paper and we exchanged it between ourselves. When I was writing this initiator started searching everyone he got to me and he search me there was nothing on me, he search my booklet yet nothing, he ask me where is my question paper and I showed him just the front because it was the back we wrote on, when he saw it he flipped the back and saw the question paper and ask me who wrote this and what is all this I told him I wrote it with all the back and font he told me to sit down

Minute later he went outside and bought exam malpractice form and gave me and others those who were using chukuli, phones, book and other material to write.

I beg him that I wrote it, all pleading fell to deaf ear, when I saw he was yielding and time was going and no time to beg I just had to fill the paper. I filled it so I can beg him later so I would be able to write something

To get the long story short, 3 days later I was invigated to the student disciplinary board to explain what happened Which I did, I pleaded and beg that it won’t happen again, thry told me I will be punished but not expelled
In my school examination malpractice is straight expulsion no matter who you may know.

2 days later I got I call from my classrep that I was given 2years rustication. I called the Hod and course adviser and they said it true, I check the name of student expelled my name wasn’t there, I confirm from the student discplinary board and truly I was recommended 2 years suspension but the result will be out on February 17th this year, and when it out my student portal will be shutdown immediately

Even since then I have been sad, depressed and lonely and I can’t even tell my parents because they will be disappointed in me, I have been carrying a burden since early November and now it January, I have been thinking none stop, I have been contemplating suicide to be honest, I don’t pray this kind of situation for my worst enemies and those who haven’t been will never truly knows the pain it cause till you’re in the situation

Please i need help and words of encouragement

I had the worst nagging experience of my life today. chai how can someone complain from 9:45 pm to 3:00 am.

What started this argument I don't even know I kept quite for 2 hrs only for me to burst out in anger because I was constantly reminded how I was a failure, how I stole my sister's 5k fifteen years ago, how I spent my own bursary allowance at the university 10 yrs ago, infact all sort of irrelevant accusations where being dug up, it was like a blast from the past and I almost ran mad, not because of the accusations but because of the way those words kept disturbing my peace.

This same nagging experience from the past made me buy earphones all the time, but today I couldn't find any. My ears heard a lot and I bursted out in anger and Spit out painful words, cos I was frustrated by the noise.

Now am regretting my actions, I should have kept my cool. The regret plus the nagging is suicidal. I just had to play a verse of the Quran (yasin) on my playlist even though am not a Muslim (found that quranic verse on my song list). Have you experienced such before? Whether from family or friends or total strangers

I believe in this prediction. Time is coming when distances are shortened drastically by inventions. Going to the moon and back would seem like travelling to the USA from Europe, or even shorter. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) branch, has commended Dr. Chukwudi Michael Okoye, a lecturer in the Department of Theatre and Film Studies, for his exemplary composure after being bitten and assaulted by a female student, Goddy-Mbakwe Chiamaka Precious, of the Department of History and International Studies.

The incident occurred when Dr. Okoye excused himself to pass through a hallway where the student was recording a TikTok video. Enraged by the interruption, she attacked him physically, an act that has since sparked widespread condemnation.

In a letter signed by ASUU-UNIZIK Chairman Kingsley Ubaoji and Secretary Joseph Onyejiaka, the union praised Dr. Okoye for his professionalism, stating:

“ASUU wishes to commend Dr. Chukwudi Michael Okoye of the Department of Theatre and Film Studies for his exemplary display of maturity and civility in the face of the recent violent assault on him by a female student, Goddy-Mbakwe Chiamaka Precious, a student of the Department of History and International Studies.
