I think a simpler alternative would be to use Payoneer.

Withdraw USD from Upwork to Payoneer and send that USD to your Grey GBP account (Payoneer will convert the funds for you)

It's pretty straight forward.

I have a personal beef with Grey, so I don't use them. I use Geegpay.

They don’t have the virtual usd account anymore, just the GBP, and as for Geegpay they are taking forever to verify my account, that’s why I’ve just decided to look for an alternative

Hi. I started using my Canadian upwork account this week, although it does not have the verified badge. I just landed a job, but upwork requests that I do a w-ben before I can withdraw. How do I go about that?

If you used your real names and profile picture, you can verify for UK location by using International Passport or temporarily change your location to Nigeria, login with Nigeria IP and verify with voter's card, driver's license or plastic national ID card. In that case, you can switch back to UK location after few weeks and continue using VPN for logins as usual.
