Family / Re: How About Our Children Learn Spanish This Long Vacation? by mieske(f): 9:27am On Jul 16, 2015
Hello importexpert. I have read various articles and studies that say that learning a foreign language, especially at a tender age, has numerous benefits, a few of which are below:

develops children’s cognitive skills, hence increasing their IQ;
enhances their performance in other academic areas;
boosts their brain power and memory;
improves their decision making abilities;
builds their self-confidence;
improves their first language (English).

In addition, for an adult i'd say it increases your career chances. Do you have an idea of what an Ecowas/AU/UN or any other international org employee earns?

I also know that Spanish is ranked as the 2nd universal language, this makes it very important for international travels and business relationships. Here in Nigeria/West Africa, we are surrounded by French speaking countries so most of us originally thought French was the most important language to learn, i'd say yes it's important to learn French, however thinking globally I'm happy for my kids to learn French, Spanish, Portuguese, Manadarim all at once because guess what? At an early age the brain can easily assimilate multiple languages without any hassle.

For me though, I have friends who speak foreign languages in addition to their qualifications and I know the advantages they have so I am happy to stir my kids in that direction and set them on the right path and standout from the crowd.

importexpert:
the question is what are the advantages of studying Spanish?

Family / How About Our Children Learn Spanish This Long Vacation? by mieske(f): 2:51pm On Jul 10, 2015
Hello everyone,

The long vacation is here and we parents are wondering how we should best engage our children.

A friend told me about learning Spanish and after thinking it through i feel its a very productive activity because she says the classes are usually very fun and interactive.

I am looking for parents who are interested so that the class is opened because a minimum of 5 students are required.

Please anyone who is interested should reply. Classes are expected to begin on July 25th at Ikeja, Lagos.

Celebrities / Re: Omotola or Rita Dominic - who is more beautiful? by mieske(f): 4:35pm On Jan 14, 2006
Well i think if i were to ask questions i'd rather not ask this particular ? I think i personally noticed that when Rita is not wearing make-up she looks sick and pale,to add to this she has all the time in the world to take care of her pretty self and shape,Omotola is a mother of THREE and is evidently more beautifull than Rita.
