Foreign AffairsFrance President Warn Iran Over The Kidnapping Of France Citizen by MightyRaid(op): 2:56pm On Mar 16
Emmanuel Macron has urged Iran to immediately halt what he described as “unacceptable attacks” across the Middle East following a phone conversation with Masoud Pezeshkian.

In a post on X late Sunday night, the French leader said he conveyed strong concerns over Tehran’s actions in the region and warned that the escalating tensions could push the Middle East further into instability.

“I have just spoken with Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian,” Macron wrote. “I called on him to put an immediate end to the unacceptable attacks Iran is carrying out against countries in the region, whether directly or through proxies, including in Lebanon and Iraq.”

Macron stressed that France’s actions in the region are purely defensive and aimed at protecting its interests and allies.

“I reminded him that France is acting within a strictly defensive framework aimed at protecting its interests, its regional partners, and freedom of navigation, and that it is unacceptable for our country to be targeted,” he said.

The French president warned that the intensifying conflict is creating serious risks for regional stability.

“The unchecked escalation we are witnessing is plunging the entire region into chaos, with major consequences today and for the years to come,” Macron said, adding that ordinary citizens across the region are bearing the consequences.

“The people of Iran, like those across the region, are paying the price.”

Macron also reiterated the need for a new political and security arrangement to address longstanding tensions in the Middle East.

“Only a new political and security framework can ensure peace and security for all,” he said. “Such a framework must guarantee that Iran never acquires nuclear weapons, while also addressing the threats posed by its ballistic missile programme and its destabilising activities regionally and internationally.”

He further called for the restoration of maritime security in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

“Freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz must be restored as soon as possible,” Macron stated.

During the conversation, the French president also pressed the Iranian leader to facilitate the release of two detained French nationals.

“I also urged the Iranian President to allow Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris to return safely to France as soon as possible,” Macron said. “Their ordeal has gone on for far too long, and they belong with their loved ones.”

Tensions between Iran and Western countries have heightened in recent weeks amid concerns over regional security, maritime safety, and Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.

Nairaland GeneralDon Jazzy Vs Crayon:why Do Many Artists Fallout( A Look At Mavin Record History) by MightyRaid(op): 12:40pm On Mar 16
Don Jazzy vs Crayon: Why Do Many Artists Eventually Fall Out With Their Record Labels? (A Look At Mavin Records History)

The Nigerian music industry woke up to fresh drama after singer Don Jazzy was called out online by his former signee **Crayon.

In a series of controversial posts on X (formerly Twitter), Crayon publicly accused the leadership of **Mavin Records** of mistreating him. He alleged that payments were delayed and that his talent was not properly supported during his time at the label. Some of the posts were later deleted, but not before they went viral across social media. ([Val9ja][1])

At one point, the singer made shocking statements and even hinted that his late mother’s suffering was somehow connected to the issues he faced while signed to the label. ([kanyidaily.com][2])

Crayon, who joined Mavin Records in 2019, also suggested he has now moved on, with new music reportedly released under another imprint called Olodum Entertainment. ([The Trumpet Newspaper Nigeria][3])

But this raises a bigger question many Nigerians are now asking:

Why do many artists eventually leave record labels with controversy

Interestingly, this is not the first time an artist connected to Don Jazzy’s label has had a public disagreement or departure.

Over the years, several big names have exited Mavin Records:

Wande Coal – left after a public disagreement over song ownership and intellectual property in 2013.

Reekado Banks– exited in 2018 and started his own label.

Tiwa Savage– left the label after signing a global deal with Universal Music Group in 2019.

Iyanya– also moved on from the label earlier in his career.

Yet despite these departures, Don Jazzy remains one of the most respected figures in African music and has continued to discover new talents like Rema,Ayra Starr, and Magixx, who have all achieved massive success under the Mavin system.

So the real question is this:

Is the problem with the artists, the record labels, or simply the nature of the music business itself?

Some people believe record labels invest heavily in building artists and therefore take a large share of the profits.

Others argue that many artists eventually feel “trapped” once they become successful and want more freedom and ownership of their music.

And then there are fans who believe these disputes are just part of the entertainment industry worldwide.

But with this latest situation involving Crayon and Don Jazzy, Nigerians are once again debating the same issue:

Is the Nigerian music industry fair to artists?

Or…

Do artists simply forget the people who helped them rise once fame arrives?

What do you think?

Let’s hear your honest opinion.

Nairaland GeneralIf Milk Is Coming Out In The Breast Of A Lady, And She's Not Pregnant? by MightyRaid(op): 7:05pm On Mar 11
If milk comes out of your breasts and you are not pregnant or you are not in breastfeeding, then this condition is called galactorrhea. This is not a disease. But it could be a symptom of any health issue.

1.If a hormonal imbalance occurs in our body, due to which the prolactin level becomes high in our body and what happens when the prolactin level is high is that our milk producing hormone becomes very active.

2.There is a small unusual, non cancerous tumor in the brain which we call a tumor as pituitary gland ( prolactinoma ).

3.If we have thyroid disorders, especially low thyroid hormone it can effect.

4.If we are taking some medicines for a long time like anti-depression medicines, antipsychotics medicines, high blood pressure medicines, birth control pills, this can also be an issue.

5.Stress can also disturb our hormonal levels to a great extent.

6.If there is any injury or something in our nipple, that can also have an effect.

7.Herbal supplements also affect such as fenugreek and fennel.

8.Even if we are very ill for a very long time, like if we have kidney disease or liver disease, then also we have some balance.

SOLUTIONS AND TREATMENT

1.You have to go to a gynecologist or endocrinologist doctor and after that the doctor will give you something blood test to check the prolactin level or thyroid function. There will be a pregnancy test also and a brain scan can also be done, That will be for the pituitary gland.

2.Your treatment will depend on the blood test. If your prolactin level is high, then you will be given medicines to reduce it. If you have thyroid issues then the doctor will give you medicines accordingly and the tumor usually occurs in very rare cases and if it occurs, then there is only one solution for it, which is surgery.

WHEN TO WORRY

If your discharge is bloody or yellowish or greenish, then this can be a cause of concern. Or if it is happening in only one breast, then this can also be a cause of concern. If there are any lumps in your breast, some skin changes are happening and there is pain, then you should immediately contact the doctor.
Foreign AffairsLebanon’s President Calls For ‘complete Ceasefire’ With Israel by MightyRaid(op): 3:39pm On Mar 09
Lebanon’s president calls for ‘complete ceasefire’ with Israel
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has called for a “complete ceasefire” with Israel and urged international support for a new plan to stabilise the country.

In a statement posted on social medioa, Aoun said the proposal includes “establishing a complete ceasefire with a cessation of all Israeli land, air and sea attacks on Lebanon”.

He said the Lebanese Armed Forces would “immediately take control of the areas of recent tension, confiscate all weapons therein, and disarm Hezbollah and dismantle its weapons depots and storage facilities”.

Aoun also called for international logistical support for the Lebanese army, saying such assistance was needed to implement the plan.

He added that Lebanon and Israel should begin “direct negotiations under international auspices” to reach an agreement on the implementation of the measures.

The US and Israel continue to strike Iran, hitting oil storage depots and refining facilities in Tehran for the first time.
An Iranian drone attack caused material damage to a water desalination plant in Bahrain, the country’s interior ministry has said. It comes a day after Iran said the US bombed a freshwater desalination plant in Qeshm Island in southern Iran, setting a “precedent”.
The clerical body that will choose Iran’s next supreme leader has reached a majority consensus, according to a member.
Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates report more Iranian strikes after Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian offered an apology and pledged to halt attacks on Gulf states if no attacks originate from their territories.
In Lebanon, an Israeli air attack on a hotel in Beirut has killed at least four people.

Nairaland GeneralWhy Does Boko Haram Keep Attacking Military Bases In Borno? by MightyRaid(op): 3:04pm On Mar 05
There are fresh reports of Boko Haram attacking a military base and IDP camp in Borno with casualties reported.

My question:
Why do these attacks keep happening despite years of military operations?
Nairaland GeneralHouse Takes Up War Powers Resolution After Senate Voted It Down by MightyRaid(op): 12:17pm On Mar 05
The House is preparing to vote Thursday on a war powers resolution to halt President Donald Trump's attack on Iran, a sign of unease in Congress over the rapidly widening conflict that is reordering U.S. priorities at home and abroad.

It's the second vote in as many days, after the Senate defeated a similar measure along party lines. Lawmakers are confronting the sudden reality of representing the American people in wartime and all that entails — with lives lost, dollars spent and alliances tested by a president's unilateral decision to go to war with Iran.

The tally in the House is expected to be tight, but the outcome will provide an early snapshot of the political support, or opposition, to the U.S.-Israel military operation and Trump's rationale for bypassing Congress, which alone has the power to declare war.

“Donald Trump is not a king, and if he believes the war with Iran is in our national interest, then he must come to Congress and make the case," said Rep. Gregory Meeks, the top Democrat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Meeks said in his nearly three decades in Congress, the hardest votes he has taken have been deciding whether to send U.S. troops to war.

The roll calls are a clarifying moment for the president and the parties just days into the overseas conflict that has quickly carried echoes of the long U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Many veterans of those wars have since run for office and now serve in Congress.

Republicans largely back Trump, and most Democrats oppose the war
Trump’s Republican Party, which narrowly controls the House and Senate, largely sees the conflict with Iran not as the start of a new war, but the end of a regime that for decades has long menaced the West. The operation has killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, which some view as an opportunity for regime change, though others warn of a chaotic power vacuum.

Rep. Brian Mast of Florida, the GOP chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, publicly thanked Trump for taking action against Iran, saying the president is using his own constitutional authority to defend the U.S. against the “imminent threat” the country posed.

Mast, an Army veteran who worked as a bomb disposal expert in Afghanistan, said the war powers resolution was effectively asking “that the president do nothing.”

For Democrats, Trump's war with Iran, influenced by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is a war of choice that is testing the balance of powers in the U.S. Constitution.

“The framers weren’t fooling around,” said Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., arguing that the Constitution is clear that only Congress can decide matters of war.

He said whether lawmakers support or oppose the Trump administration's military action, they should have the debate. “It’s up to us, we’ve got to vote on it.”

While views in Congress are largely falling along party lines, there are crossover coalitions. Both the House and Senate resolutions were bipartisan, and are drawing bipartisan support and opposition. The House is also voting on a separate resolution affirming that Iran is the largest state sponsor of terrorism.

The war powers resolution, if signed into law, would immediately halt Trump's ability to conduct the war unless Congress approved the military action. The president would likely veto the measure.

As an alternative, a small group of Democrats has proposed a separate war powers resolution that would allow the president to continue the war for 30 days before he must seek congressional approval. It is not expected to come yet for a vote.

Trump officials provide shifting rationale for war
After launching a surprise attack against Iran on Saturday, Trump has scrambled to win support for a conflict that Americans of all political persuasions were already wary of entering. Trump administration officials spent hours behind closed doors on Capitol Hill this week trying to reassure lawmakers that they have the situation under control.

Six U.S. military members were killed over the weekend in a drone strike in Kuwait, and Trump has said more Americans could die. Thousands of Americans abroad have scrambled for flights, many lighting up the phone lines at congressional offices as they sought help trying to flee the Middle East.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that the war could extend eight weeks, twice as long as the president himself first estimated. Trump has left open the possibility of sending U.S. troops into what, so far, has largely been bombing campaign by air. Hundreds of people in the region have died.

The administration said the goal is to destroy Iran's ballistic missiles that it believes are shielding its nuclear program. It has also said Israel was ready to act against Iran, and American bases would face retaliation if the U.S. did not strike first. On Wednesday, the U.S. said it torpedoed an Iranian warship near Sri Lanka.

"This administration can't even give us a straight answer of as to why we launched this preemptive war," said Rep. Thomas Massie, the Republican from Kentucky who is often an outlier in his party.

Massie and Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., who had teamed up to release the Jeffrey Epstein files, also forced the war powers resolution to the floor, pushing past objections from House Speaker Mike Johnson.

Johnson has warned that it would be “dangerous” to limit the president's authority while the U.S. military is already in conflict.

Senators sit in their desks for solemn vote
In the Senate, Republican leaders have successfully, though narrowly, defeated a series of war powers resolutions pertaining to several other conflicts during Trump's second term. This one, however, was different.

Underscoring the gravity of the moment Wednesday, Democratic senators filled the chamber and sat at their desks as the voting got underway.

“Today every senator — every single one — will pick a side," Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said before the vote. “Do you stand with the American people who are exhausted with forever wars in the Middle East or stand with Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth as they bumble us headfirst into another war?”

Sen. John Barrasso, second in Senate Republican leadership, said “Democrats would rather obstruct Donald Trump than obliterate Iran’s national nuclear program."

The legislation failed on a 47-53 tally mostly along party lines, with Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky in favor and Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania against.

Trump thanks NATO chief for comments expressing ‘massive’ support for Iran strikes
President Trump has thanked NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte for his comments, saying that allies were supportive on “a massive scale” of Washington’s strikes on Iran.

“Thank you to our great NATO Secretary General!” Trump posted on social media.

Rutte said that although NATO was “not involved in the strikes on Iran, Washington’s actions had “large-scale support” from allies.

“Obviously, allies are basically, [on] a massive scale… supportive of what the president is doing and are also enabling what the US is doing now in the region, taking out this nuclear capability of Iran and, of course, the missile capability.”
