I heard the recruitment has been handed over to a recruitment agency who are going to select the most qualified applicants and that many customs officers don't even know the recruitment agency in question all in a bid to avoid prioritising mediocrity over competence.

But those that mean everything will start and end with the recruitment agency without involving some of the customs officers especially those in the service's HR?.

...I knw Customs has a department knwn as Board which is headed by a DCG HRM (somtin like dat as at wen last am certain). The Board handles recruitment directly. To say this recruitment is been handled by an agency is totally awkward. Even if the PRO is creating that impression; am 100% certain Customs will not contract any agency to run recruitment when it has a department scheduled for that purpose.

Isn't this thread supposed to be for news pertaining the recruitment process? Why all the negative post all over the thread It's really annoying reading some posts here.

Where u dey I go come meet u with my own tp make u slap me. U think I was stupid to jst post that his info are rubbish? Their is totally no bossing around between SS n GD ...d hierarchy is within SS to SS and GD to GD except general rank hierarchy where even the so called GD can still function under a SS ...and you that have no knowledge on how it works will jst seat in the comfort of your house to tell which info is legit or not. I dey wait for your location bro; no worry abt the tp wey I go carry go meet you

All the argument about support staff and genral duty never even talk about the main issue. The thing is that, it is better to be in general duty than be a support staff. You won't have job satisfaction being a support staff in custom, that i can guarantee. No coded levels and rush money. You are at the mercy of those in general duty cos dem go dey task you around. This is why they require only professionals who can do specific tasks. All in all, it's not the best way to be in custom.

I hear you can move from support staff to general duty but even if it's possible, you gotta know top Oga in custom.

Can you imagine the rubbish you jst wasted time and energy to post��� ...why give information about something you know NOTHING abt

@emmieachichi is a little but not entirely right. Support staff in the NCS are junior personnel who do not perform operational roles. They perform assigned duties, most of their roles and activities are based on directives. Some support staff however function in sensitive departments like Accounts, Medicals etc. And from what I heard, support staff do get posted to all commands including border posts. They sometimes serve as domestic aides to the senior officers from the rank of Ara Controller and above. It also appears they are limited in terms of ranking, seems they don't rise beyond level 13 or so. @Jumoke support staff in the NCS are permanent staff, and the news about them been maltreated depends on the nature of the superior officers they function under. I know support staff who made it in the Service because they are in good hands in terms of superiors.

Support staff are simply those officers that are specifically assigned to a specific department ...like secretary, medical doctors, pilots, marine, drivers etc ...they could be senior officers or junior
