Rivers State PDP Governorship Candidate, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that a vote for APC in Rivers State is tantamount to the people deliberately mortgaging their future.



Speaking during campaigns to wards 8 and 19 of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area on Monday, Barrister Wike expressed happiness that the people have since resolved to jettison the APC.



He regretted that the two wards lack basic amenities to drive the economies of the two wards visited.



The Rivers State PDP Governorship Candidate particularly pledged to rehabilitate the Liberation Stadium in the area to kick-start mass development of the area.



He further announced that he will pay salaries and other entitlements of workers as at when due and also improve the infrastructure at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology.



He said: “ We must work hard to ensure that President Jonathan is reelected and all other PDP candidates should receive our votes to lift our State out of the wards”.



Also speaking, National Deputy Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus said that Barrister Wike has already taken over government since Amaechi has absconded and relocated to Lagos.



He said the massive corruption perpetrated by Amaechi requires a tested administrator to revive Rivers State and recover the loot from Amaechi and his cronies.

The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it has noted a deliberate attempt by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to disenfranchise its members and supporters in Lagos state by refusing to release their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) to them. PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, in a statement on Thursday said the party has observed that officials of INEC are working hand in gloves with the All Progressive Congress [APC] in the state to frustrate the distribution of the PVCs in PDP strongholds as well as to non-indigenes in the state. The PDP described the development as “unacceptable, illegal and part of the criminal plot by the APC to hold on to power in the face of its dwindling popularity among the people who are now eager to vote enmesh for the PDP and end APC’s dictatorial rule in the state. “While we restate our commitment to peaceful and credible elections come February 14th 2015, we will not accept any attempt to scheme us out in any state or states controlled by the APC”, the PDP noted. The PDP said the APC has been jittery over the increasing popularity of President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP governorship candidate in the state, Olujimi Agbaje, and now seeks to compromise the electoral process by manipulating the distribution of the PVCs. Stating that INEC has refused to check the trend despite repeated concerns raised by its state chapter and other well-meaning Nigerians, the PDP said the onus now lies on the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega and the leadership of the commission to prove their innocence by immediately intervening and ensuring that all eligible voters in the state received their PVCs accordingly.The PDP also demanded that INEC thoroughly investigate the matter and ensure that all those involved are sanctioned in order to restore confidence in the electoral process in
the state.

One of the foremost controversial and daring speakers in Nigeria has once again resorted to airing his views concerning the recent happenings in Nigeria concerning the up and coming elections in February.

the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, chief tony anenih, has urged Nigerians not to be deceived that President Goodluck Jonathan will not secure a re-election in next month’s presidential election.

anenih, who said this during a rally on Sunday in Uromi, the headquarters of Esan North-East Local Government of Edo state, noted that he had recently visited some northern states and with what he saw, the pdp would emerge victorious in the February elections.

Also, present at the rally were the Minister for Works, Mike Onolemenmen, a chieftain of the party, chief Tom Ikimi; state Chairman of the party, chief Dan Orbih and other state executive members.

“Two days ago as Buhari was landing in Sokoto, I was also landing in Sokoto and by the time I was leaving, I knew we have got Sokoto state. These are northern states.”

He added that it would be a sad tale to vote for the apc candidates at all levels because “you don’t take food from your son for a dog.”

For me, it is not a personal thing.it was a collective effort put together by the government;the president in particular played a lot of role. Although it was when I was there as the supervising minister of education that the matter was resolved…Prof.ruqqayatu rafai did a lot before she left, I continued from there we thank God that we were able to resolve it but I cannot say it was my personal effort, but as the ten supervising minister, obviously I did make a lot of impact to see that the strike was called off.but fundamentally, the president played a very crucial role in resolving that impasses.

The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has rubbished the outgoing Governor of the Rivers state, Rotimi Chubuike Amaechi after losing his bid to be the Vice Presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress, APC. According to a statement released by the PDP(River state chapter) today.

"The PDP is excited that Amaechi has been confirmed as a serial loser who lacks the capacity to win any competitive contest and can only excel in incivility and loose tongues.The outgoing Governor Rotimi Amaechi plans to empty the State treasury and also debit the upcoming Government with huge debts that will take the life span of his successor administration to upset.

One of such plans, the PDP can authoritatively reveal is the recent directive by Governor Amaechi to the Chairmen of the 23 Local Government Areas, whose tenure in office has elapsed to access bank loans to the tune of Two Hundred Million Naira (N200,000,000.00).

The loan, the Party reliably gathered, would be used to fund this year’s cultural Festival, here referred to as ‘CANIRIV’ and as Christmas package and freebies for members of the All Progressives Congress in the various LGAs and fun APC campaigns

The PDP condemns in its entirety what it describes as criminal and unpatriotic of Governor Amaechi and all those aiding him to commit such financial fraud on Rivers People,

It is in the light of this that the PDP urges all anti graft agencies to urgently save Rivers State and the people from impending collapse in 2015, after Governor Amaechi has left office.

Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Chief Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike, has accused the administration of Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi of neglecting Ogoniland in the area of basic amenities.

He said that it was a wicked act for the state government to deliberately refuse to provide potable drinking water, electricity and good roads for the people of Ogoni, who the governor claims to love.

Wike spoke yesterday at Mogho community in Gokana local government area of the state, during the campaign rally of the PDP.

He said, “PDP government is not like the APC government. It is unfortunate that a government that has been there for almost eight years could not give water to the Ogoni people.

“They claim that they love Ogoni people, yet, they refused to provide light to Ogoniland. It is an act of wickedness for the government to deliberately refuse to provide good roads.”

He urged the people of Gokana to vote massively for the PDP in the February general elections, saying that if elected he will provide all those basic amenities the APC government denied them.

Katsina Youths To Defend Shema’s Legacies – Gambarawa Youths in Katsina state have vowed to support and defend the personality of Governor Ibrahim Shema and the peoples Democratic Party PDP across the state ahead of forthcoming elections, The Leer of Youth clubs and association, Mal. Ayyuba Gambarawa has said.

Gambarawa who is a leader of the group was speaking to newsmen in Kaduna Tuesday after a meeting of all youth leaders of the group in Katsina where they deliberated on issues bordering on forthcoming elections.

He said on account o tremendous achievements of Shema administration in the last years, especially in the area of youth sports development, they have vowed to throw their unflinching support and loyalty to his personality as well as the PDP upon which he became governor and launched a historic transformation in all sectors that history would remember.

Gambarawa then admonished all PDP members particularly the defeated aspirants at all levels of elections to eschew an bitterness and work assiduously for the victory of the party in all elections,because it is only when PDP wins, that they can maintain their respect and honour among the people.

‘’It is a disastrous for them to allow PDP to fail elections especially the gubernatorial elections, through which they and the public would continue to enjoy respect and prestige,’’ he added.

The Youth leader then cautioned all PDP members against any acts of anti-party activity before, during elections, as according to him, it has serious implication to themselves, the party and the state as a whole.

He then assured the youth across the state of articulated programmes and schemes of assisting them at all aspects after this elections, therefore the should rally round the party to victory no to agree with those with empty promises

Gambarawa then further assured citizens of Katsina state that the PDP Gubernatorial candidate, Eng. Musa Nashuni will complete all project started by Governor Shema and protect and preserve all legacies o the previous administration before he will embark on his own projects for the good of the state.
