Tolezy001: Hello everyone, sorry for the long write up. I’m in a tough situation and would really appreciate your thoughts.
I’m 25 years old, and ever since I got an unconditional admission offer my father has been determined to sell his only house to fund my travel to the UK. Despite my repeated attempts to convince him otherwise, he insists that this is the best way to secure my future. While I deeply appreciate his sacrifice and belief in me, I can’t help but worry about the risks.
Selling his only home means he will have nowhere to fall back on if things don’t go as planned. And as much as I want to explore better opportunities abroad, I don’t want to see him struggle or regret this decision later.
What would you do in my situation? Do you think this sacrifice is worth it? I’d love to hear different perspectives, especially from those who have been in a similar position or understand the realities of starting over in a new country.
Thanks in advance for your advice! Personally, I won’t advise he sells his house to fund your travel. If it was another property he has then he can sell it , but giving the condition of Nigeria now it is not advisable to sell a house where you live at least he will be free from house rent and would be comfortable in his space. If he sells his house he’ll likely not be able to build another one soon if he has no good source of income . Whereas going to the UK is not all that glitters , it would take a while for you to get on your feet , you’ll work for only 20hours , feed , transport and bills . During your school period there’s not much you can do because you’re limited . Besides the pay in the UK is just average , so once you graduate depending on what you plan to do . It would still take you a little while to get on your feet due to the bills that comes with staying in the UK. So if you have no strong job experience like software engineering, auditing etc to land you a decent salary you’ll start off as everyone else . Look for money to travel , wait till you’re a little financially stable to support yourself , family etc do not let your father sell his only house to fund your travel. In my opinion it’s not worth it. |

Horlamidei: How many times can one apply for Graduate visa in the Uk??
Someone’s graduate visa is running out and I advised the person to pick up another masters to buy more time then graduate visa after graduation to buy more time till she settles only for her to tell me one can apply for it once but she’s not sure..
Please how many times can one apply for graduate visa because I was even telling her of the 10yrs route study to stay so she can apply for graduate visa after Post graduate visa is a one in a life time route . Cannot be done twice. If she decides to apply for a masters again , to play safe she should apply for a course that she’ll get sponsorship before the studies finish . E.g nursing and social work MSc |

iphi: Hello house. Good evening. I want to ask two questions please I need anyone who have the answers to please help. 1. What do you do when you told your school NO concerning Visa refusal but when applying in UKVI you said yes to Visa refusal. You did not get refusal in UK though it was other countries. 2. What do you do when you have misplaced your visa refusal documents for a country you applied to and got rejected? How do you explain this to the UKVI? This was 9 years ago lost all documents and everything relating to that refusal. If you’ve told the school you have no refusal all you have to do is declare to ukvi that you’ve a refusal and as for the reason you can just say you were refused a visit visa etc. Keep it simple they don’t need the letter of rejection and a refusal does not affect your application . It’s a point based system just make sure you state the year and month for the refusal. |

Sakol4life: Good Day all. Please I need an urgent advice about my situation.
I am a student visa which will run out in the next 8 days. I got a COS from my company, and I applied for my visa on the 11th of December but to my surprise my visa is not yet out. I've seen couple of friends and even two people in my company who applied for the visa after me and the main applicant application got approved within 24hours and they are only waiting for their dependants visas to come out.
After 3 weeks of applying the home office got back to me that it's taking them time to make decision on my application that they have requested more documents and action from my employer.
I contacted my employer and they said the home office are requesting them to make corrections on my COS that the minimum threshold is not enough to sponsor me. Funny enough it's the same £23200 stated on my colleagues COS that was also on mine.
I'm very confused because I don't know why the visa officer said the money was not enough. My visa will be running out on the 20th of January and I don't know what might be the out come of the decision. Meanwhile my wife is heavily pregnant and the EDD is very close.
Should I just apply for PSW and terminate the skilled work application?
Please I need your advice!!!! For healthcare workers, to have a dependent the minimum income is £29,000. If you do not act fast on it , they will likely issue only your visa and reject the dependent. Since you’re on a student visa you can apply for your post study instead . |

EcomGuy: Hi guys with experience on UKVi requirements. I was asked to provide additional information on What I have been doing since I finished NYSC in 2014.
I'm applying for a study visa for an MPH masters. Between 2014-2016, I got an MBA from University of Ilorin. Worked for 2yrs with an Engineering firm as facility manager between 2016-2018 and from 2018-2023 as a Biochemist with a research Laboratory. From. 2023-2025, I have been into E-commerce business.
Questions.
If I tell them I have had a masters in Nigeria, will that not cause denial?
Also, how can structure this to help me get the visa approval? I need all supports I can get. Thanks. From my experience, having a masters should not stop you from getting the visa. I’m going for a second masters in the uk , although I declared mine to the school but doesn’t matter now. You need to prove to them that it is an academic progression. You can provide a personal statement letting them know how the previous masters and this new masters will help your future career. Just make sure you link them together . Tips. 1) You can use modules from both the old and new course. (Iink it to how it can help your new course ) 2) personal career aspiration. 3)Let them know your short / long term goals. |

Richie003: I hope that do and I just did thanks. I’m tired of waiting. I thought it was supposed to be within 3-5days like I heard before applying.. Not motivated to prepare even🙁 Standard application is an average of 15 working days. Not everyone’s application might take 3-5 days. But don’t worry and pray you don’t get any NSF mail from now till your 15th day and it would be out within that period. |

Rimdans: Hi everyone, After receiving a " your application is being worked on and a decision will be made as soon as possible" after escalation, I was hit with this email this afternoon. At this point, I am confused as to what to do seeing as my last day for registration is 14th of January. Also it doesn't say anything about my application not being NSF, but is this still a NSF mail? Just so confused. Please any advice? It is possible they’re trying to verify your supporting evidence . Could be bank statement / references or anything so if you can reach out to your bank just Incase. And in general if it’s convenient or like 1 month to resumption . I think it’s better to just opt for the priority service because everyones application would not be treated in the same way. Sometimes they’ll just skip some loopholes due to the priority service and at every stage they prioritise the application. |

Fiestafetta: Thanks so much for your response..... Please can she still get admission even if she can't get the reference, I appreciate your Swift response once again Schools require a certain amount of care work hours experience to gain admission . Some ask to also fill nursing portfolio where you answer your health care related answers . She’ll need a reference that can confirm the total hours she has worked in a care role . She can get admission first but she must be able to provide reference to confirm those work hours requirements. |

Fiestafetta: Good morning everyone, please my sister is considering to travel to the UK through study route for the next admission window by September but I don't know if their will be a problem due to her background and work experience that is not the same with her intended course of study. BSc sociology 2.1 Msc Health Social Work Present work experience; Two years experience as a primary school teacher in government primary school Proposed course of study: Adult general nursing or adult mental health nursing With this above information, will she qualify for the aforementioned course of study, if yes, what more can she do to enhance her success rate for both admission and visa process? Thanks so much in anticipation She won’t be able to gain admission with the work experience for MSc Except she does a Bsc in nursing . Generally for MSc nursing you don’t have to have bsc in nursing , it’s open for everyone from every other courses. But she’ll need to have a recent care experience and proof . This would be in form of providing a reference. If she can get it then that would be great . Otherwise with her background she can study MSc social work which also guarantees work visa sponsorship after school in the UK |

Please indicate. Happy new year guys! It’s possible they’re trying to confirm one of the details on your document and it’s taking their time . If it’s possible can you ask the bank / if you dropped references if UKVI got in touch with them . Or it could be any other documents . |

jessetom: Thank you for your reply. What I will really need to know is the answer to my Question 1. You didn't answer it. I'll reiterate it: Must I pay the 50k to campus France before the university I'm applying to can review my application and make admission decision? No it’s not a must you pay to campus France first before your school proceeds with admission However , you must pay acceptance fees to get admission letter , I don’t know how your school works tho Contact the school and if you are asked to pay for campus France , pay it because either ways you must still pay for campus France |

jessetom: Hello house.
So I'm applying for Masters admission and scholarship at University of Lille. The scholarship board and program director advised me to apply through campus France. I have completed and have my application verified by campus France, but now they (Campus France) are asking me to pay 50k for some processing.
1. Can I get admission without paying this 50k at this time and pay the 50k later on, perhaps after admitted.
2. Can the 50k be waived?
3. Also, among the documents needed by the Campus France people after I make the payment was an "official acceptance letter" what does this mean, too?
Thanks in advance guys. Hello The 50k for campus France is compulsory and all international student must pass through campus France to validate the visa process , it cannot be waved Official acceptance letter is a letter of acceptance from your school |
