Please, please, please for those whose husband's were not in the US for their baby's delivery, did you need a notarised consent letter to apply for Nigerian visa? If yes is there a foRm for it like the one they have for the US passport or is it an original letter that is notarised?

Please I need the information urgently.
God bless you.

Good day people, I hope everyone is doing well. Please I have attached the stamp in page on my passport. I still don't get what it means. My previous stamps carry dates under the B2 but this time no date. I have tried checking through the 1-94 website and couldn't get beyond a certain point.
Does anyone know what this might mean?
Thanks.

@ Chidaroy : you nailed it. There are so many health issues that a lot of our Dr's take for granted back home or maybe they just don't catch it during check-ups( I really dnt know) . But when you get here you are given some rude shockers and it makes you just thank God for the opportunity and the decision to come have your baby here.
Health is wealth. Na who dey good health dey make money or talk of travelling.

Hello House, concerning the Naija bank cards, I had an experience last December here in Houston. Almost $1000 got swiped from my account meanwhile my card was with me. The funny thing is I used an ATM machine situated in the bank's premises.
I complained when I got back to naija. As we speak na voicemail things o.
Please lets all be careful.

Yeah, I have the prices of all these cheaper hospitals though elpaso is now $6925 minus circumcision. For now, I'm stuck with Houston cas I've bought my tickets (me, mum and toddler). My mum is also not very well so I had to book an accommodation package that includes a lot of care services (soul care) so as not to stress her. So with these limitations I can't be on a budget. I have to look for the money anyhow. The only magic that can happen right now is if I get an affordable hospital in Sacramento, California where I have close family. But I have searched and searched without success. I even checked counties outskirts of Sacramento. Anyway, there is God ooo! shocked My American dream must come to past.
Hi Dear, i'm currently in Houston, using Houston North West Hospital. Dr's fee is 1,700 inclusive of tests. Hospital bill is 3,500 for CS. Epidural is 750. Not sure about Paediatrician yet. Cldnt get a price. I hope this helps.

A piece of advise for future moms, it might help someone.

Please do not decline the hearing test. I had my baby on March 1 and had every intention of declining the hearing test cos of the cost, but I was told that it is mandatory in the state of Florida and you can't decline (the state covers the cost).

Anyways, my baby was tested and she failed. We were asked to do a more extensive test and booked the appt for April 14th. This test cost $304 and they discovered that my daughter has hearing loss in both ears and will be needing hearing aids.

Although this isn't news any parent wants to hear, i'm grateful to God that we weren't given an option to decline the test. It's costing us a lot more than planned cos we have to see all these specialists, but thank God it was detected early enough.

I'm not sure what would've happened if we didn't do it and went back to Nigeria just like that.

So please, as you all plan for your birthing trips, make sure to budget for the hearing test. You never know what will happen.
Dearie, thanks alot for sharing. God is still in the business of miracles and healing. Your baby's hearing will be perfected in Jesus Name. AMEN.

Hello Mimikoko, thank God for everything. I have a united airline ticket, from what I can see from your post your poe is newyork. Mine is houston. Is it possible to change it? As I assumed all flying united would have their Poe at houston?
Thank you.
Hello Nwachino, I don't really know much about changing your flight. You could call your agent or the airline. The Airlines have different routes so it depends on what you want. Thanks.

Good day everyone,
I want to thank God for all His goodness to us and to thank the moderators and all the contributors of this thread.
I arrived Houston 2 nights ago and POE was NY. I flew United Airlines. God was in control of the whole journey as it was totally smooth and favourable.
I was travelling with my 4year old( extra extra hyper wink ) @ Lagos I didn't have any issues @ all. The itinerary was Lagos- frankfurt - NY - Houston. Got to Frankfurt, had a 6hr layover and headed to NY. Landed NY and realised small madam's backpack was left behind @ Frankfurt. I said 'God forbid bad thing, I shall not be disorganised'. I walked to d CBP queue briskly and it finally got to our turn. The officer asked why I was visiting? - vacation & child birth. How long I'll be staying - 3months. Why so much cash? - hospital bills and logistics. When last I visited? - last year. We chatted for a bit den he stamped us in n scanned my fingers. Then headed to baggage claim.
Next queue, another officer asks almost the same questions then directs me to step aside and go into some hall. Passports collected and I sit n wait to be called. Finally I get called by one of the Officers and he asks almost same questions previously answered plus do I have a dr?-yes, where does hubby work? ----, how many other kids do I have?---. Then asks me to sit, leaves to one of the back offices, comes back after some time asks me to fill some currency declaration form, leaves with the foRm to the back office while I sit waiting, comes back and escorts us to recheck-in area and wishes us a safe trip to Houston.
Get to the boarding gate and we're right on time. Get to Houston @ last and sleeeeeeeeeeep.
Mehn, e no easy. So lessons and tips now:
1. Please be prepared. Spiritually, Psychologically and Physically. I had all my documents and cash though no one asked to see anything.
2. Please if you are taking snacks along from Naija taste am first. The snacks I bought @ the airport turned out to be as hideous as airplane food.
3. If possible dnt allow children carry bags. Small madam got sassy on me @ Frankfurt and insisted that she was 'tired' n can't cope with the bag anymore.
4. Pray Pray Pray for divine favour. Flew with a couple who didn't have any single documents or physical cash just Naija bank card and guess what? They scaled through. I won't advice anyone to try it ooooooo. Abeg carry all the required documents plus cash.
So my people that's how it went. God bless you all.

Good day House, Please I have a question.
I recently renewed my B1/B2 visa through drop box. I was 3 and half months pregnant at the time. I found out about this thread afterwards and I became concerned about POE. I read on one of the US visa websites that a B1/B2 visa could be used for various purposes including medical care.
But I have read here that it's better to inform them of a change in plans via email.
Now the thing is that I dey fear one kind make them no go cancel my visa.
Pleaseeee kindly advice a preg Sis.
Thank you

Good morning VO's and visitors, I recently got my B1/B2 visa renewed through the drop box. I was pregnant at the time but didn't apply under B2 because I honestly hadn't planned on birthing in the US as at that time. I have recently decided to have the baby in the US understanding fully that I am expected to pay ALL medical bills and maintain a zero balance.
Now my question is, can I still travel on the B1/B2 visa or do I write informing the embassy of my change in plans? Thank you.
