Ayodele Peter Fayose, aka Peter “Da Rock” has been one of the most enchanting characters in the present political dispensation. His charm, self-belief and assertive personality have dominated the news, both for good and bad. Since the triumph of his second “missionary” journey to the Ekiti Government House in 2014, Fayose remains visible. So in his quest to drive his popularity across the Nigerian political divide, Ayo “Da Rock” was either creating political battles for himself or adopting one that does not necessarily concern him. Using voluptuous rhetorics that combine crafts and deception he attempts to sway unsuspecting members of the public, while endeavouring to install himself as a political god-father in the ever slippery political environment in Ekiti. No wonder he made vulnerable people including a Professor of Building Technology his puppets. Talking of Professor Olusola Eleka, we hardly heard or saw him during the campaigns, as the battle in effect was between Fayose and Fayemi. Eleka was a monumental disappointment. An academic scholar of his standing never had a say going into the election. He was essentially a yes man. We saw him kneel before Fayose on several occasions. Do you remember his shenanigans at a thanksgiving service to mark his nomination? In effect, he called Fayose his god in the House of God. And this he did without shame for the people or fear of the Almighty. At another time during the commissioning of Ekiti Flyover Bridge, we all witnessed one of the most laughable public sycophancy in recent history. Professor Eleka while prostrating flat on the ground screamed to high heavens telling the world how loyal he is to Fayose. He said things like, “Oga sir, I am your boy sir, I am loyal to you sir, you shall live long sir”. It was indeed an appalling sight to behold. Even former President Goodluck Jonathan could not hold back his amusement. I wonder how then Fayose in his widest dream thinks he can foist Eleka on the people. Agreed, a Fayemi’s administration may not necessarily be the best solution to the economic crisis Fayose has created, yet Fayemi is way better alternative to an Eleka who would have being nothing but a puppet in the hands of his master, Fayose, was he elected. Lest we forget, ever before Eleka became an option, Fayose attempted to manipulate the constitution so he could run for a third term. It was when that ambition failed woefully that he considered indirect rule through a puppet a valid choice. No doubt, Ayodele Peter Fayose aka Da Rock, is a master entertainer in crude politics. The just concluded election reminds the entire nation of the drama and practical falsehood politicians can explore just to survive the next election. Fayose bragged like the “Lion” and wailed like a “monkey” all on national television. Unfortunately for him, the Ekiti people know better and have proved to the gregarious Fayose that the appellation of “Fountain of Knowledge” is not a ruse. They can hire and fire anyone including the ever garrulous Governor. T’wale to the great people of Ekiti for not falling for the drama king. Frank Eze To be continued.

People are truly blind, how can u compare the person in the video with the picture above, the person in d video is clearly not Rev. Ben Ubeh, nor is he d CAN chairman Taraba State, or the one predicting people’s death. If people don’t have things to say it’s better to remain silent than display their ignorance publicly. May ur gentle soul rest in perfect peace daddy Ben. |
Dear President Muhammadu Buhari, I read the 14 page statement recently released by former President Olusegun Aremu Kikiola Obasanjo about your stewardship of our nation. Interestingly, both of you were in the army. Both of you are retired generals. Both of you were Military and civilian Presidents. I read the contents of his letter. He is not an ordinary Nigerian and as a statesman, he is in a vintage position to advise you during critical moments like this. Having said all these, I want you to note the following : We are in a democracy and you are a Democrat. Therefore, accept criticisms as you have always done. Although some of the issues raised were exaggerated and the language used was very unpresidential and even somewhat suspicious, you must take it seriously and adress what you honestly consider genuine and in the national interest. You should not lose sleep over Obasanjo ' s statement. If you haven't forgotten, he installed the late Umaru Musa Yar'adua as President against you but when he couldn't remote control him, he fell out with him and wrote him a letter, the type he has just written you. It was the same Obasanjo who brought forth Johnathan, campaigned for him, nurtured his Presidency but still later fell out with him and still wrote him a letter, this same type of message sent to you. Don't forget that Baba Iyabo had publicly acknowledged your good character and commended your performance even in 2017. So if he condemns you publicly in 2018, it means the handshake has reached the elbow. You know he likes to be in charge and you are one person who belongs to no one and belongs to everybody. No wonder he stopped coming to the Villa and once that happened, I knew his letter will not be long in coming and it came! He confessed in his statement and I'm sure unconsciously that you have done well in security and the fight against corruption. Are you surprised about his anger on your fight against corruption? Well, no one will be happy to build a house and watch it brought down without being VERY ANGRY. I don't know who the father of corruption is in Nigeria but I know who institutionalized the "Ghana Must Go" phenomenon in Nigeria. I know the President who had 20 thousands in his account but had many billions on leaving office. Don't worry if you are criticized on your handling of the economy by a man who met the dollar changing for 22 naira but took it to 150 in just 2 years. The man is trying to take the driver's seat. Don't you see the body language? His boys have been sent to seek the presidency. One is in APC and the other in PDP. His letter coming at this time is a bell to announce the plans. When Obasanjo arrested a sitting governor in handcuffs and sacked him from office, he also razed down Odi and eliminated everyone and everything in it. He declared a state of emergency in Plateau and forcefully removed senate presidents at will to show his presidential power. Oh my God! Where is Bola Ige, Obasanjo's Minister of Justice? What of the charismatic Harry Marshal and all those brilliant Nigerians who dared to speak then? Even the one suffering from verbal dysentery! I mean Governor Ayodele Fayose, he also understands the difference betwen OBJ and PMB. This is moreso as despite his noise making nobody has used few legislators to forcefully impeach him. Mr president, you are a Democrat so continue to maintain the sanity of a president and civility of a Democrat. Finally, did i hear that OBJ said you shouldn't contest in 2019? I don't know his source of moral for giving such an advice but a man who wasted billions in bribes to alter the constitution, a man who had made himself the Mobutu of Nigeria can not stop a good man like you from being our President again. Power belongs to God. He determines who to give NOT Obasanjo. Let me say that you are the best alternative we have right now. We know you need to really do more. We are with you. We want you. If God permits to be alive in 2019 and you contest, we will vote for you. Bala MAJIDADI, writes this piece from kano. |
It is only long before the true corruptible nature of a Policeman manifests, it appears Magu has put his hand in the same pot of soup with the known bad eggs whose woes have continued to impoverish nigerians. |
Looks like he has received his payment in full ![]() |
