This used to work for us (mixing of d drugs with milk or tea but now she could differentiate d taste of plain milk and one mixed...I even had to put inside her favourite amala and okro yesterday but she still felt d drug inside and spat everyting out..I seriously dunno how to give her drugs again....she's 18months

Our current situation and my baby just clocked 5 months on Monday. If you put a drop of drug in150mls of formula, she will know and won't eat it. That means we have to struggle with every other meal for that day. Thank God that she's not a sickly child.

4 or 5 spoons of milk and 1 spoon of cereal to what mls of water? For the bottle, would have said you should cut with a scissors instead of piercing, but at 4 months the flow may be too much.

4 spoons formula + 1 spoon gerber rice = 150mls of water..... That's the way I mix it.

Hi Moms, I started my baby on Gerber rice (supported sitter) on Saturday (her 4 months birthday). I mix 4 or 5 spoons of aptamil with 1 spoon of gerber rice and she's taking it relatively well. Now the challenges are
1. she's yet to have a poo and she poops everyday or on alternate days. I've started alternating formula and mixed food (formula+solid) since midnight and even gave her 30mls of water to induce poop. what else can i do?
2. I use tommee tippee bottles and the mixture of aptamil and gerber is not flowing well at all. I even repierced the holes on 3 bottles again, yet no improvement, she's getting frustrating sucking the bottles. The munchkin latch bottles that I have are better off but I only have 2 that came with the sterilizing unit. Does tommee tippee teat size 3 have bigger holes or where can I get latch bottles to buy in lagos?
3. How do I feed her when I increase the ratio of solid to formula? she's starting creche soon and using spoons and bowl is more susceptible to germs.

I followed the instructions....30mls to one level spoon. And I give little water after feedng. I bought the aptamil though. Thnnkng of usng 40-50mls for one spoon.
I feed every 3hrs

Please use one scoop of Aptamil to 30ml, you'll be amazed at how your baby will be glowing. What I do is make the food on demand ( i make 120ml, if she finishes it, then make an additional 30 - 60 mls for her). My baby is 10 weeks now and only on formula. She finishes one aptamil in 6 - 7 days max. She takes water only when having hiccups. Even though aptamil is a bit expensive, we are impressed with her growth. She poops once a day or every other day and she is super active and smart.

Hello Great Mothers, we went for our 14wks immunisation today BTW (3 injections in a twinkling of an eye is not funny at all o). Thank God my DS feels better now. I found out he didn't gain any weight since the last immunisation at 10wks instead it dropped. My DS is on EBF and eats very well. He's very very active too and wasn't ill at any point in time. He urinates frequently. I feel very worried and I plan to visit the hospital next week. I will appreciate if mothers in the house can offer their advice on what I may be overlooking. Thank you.

He's showing teething signs- drooling&lighter stools but he stills eats well.

I will advise you weigh your baby at any other hospital. When my baby was weighed at her 6wks immunization, they told me her weight was 3.8kg meanwhile her birthweight was 3.2kg. I was really disturbed that she probably wasn't getting enough nutrient because I stopped breastfeeding her and she's on Aptamil only. I took her for Rota Virus vaccine the next day at a private clinic and she was a whooping 4.5kg. Now I'm thinking of going to a different primary health centre for her 10 weeks immunization.
