Nairaland GeneralRe: Which Is Easier To Find A Woman Who Tells The Truth Or The One Who Keeps Secrets by Miyo(f): 3:29pm On Oct 08, 2014
On my opinion... It's kind of a 50/50 chance...
You can find a woman who tells you the truth just as much as you can also find a woman who keeps secrets.
I think it's depending on the type of woman you are looking for...
But anyway I think it's more common for men to meet with women who keep secrets... It's just nature.
It's almost hard to find a woman who can tell you a whole truth. I mean, for someone to meet a woman that can tell you the truth on her past, and everything... It's really, and I mean really, hard to find. Most of them will just tell you that there's nothing much to know, or just replace their past with a better story. That's what I think.
CultureRe: Igbo, Hausa And Yoruba: Which Is Easier To Learn? by Miyo(f): 3:22pm On Oct 08, 2014
Mmm for me, Yoruba na easy thing I beg.
I be Yoruba on my father's side and, I go talk true: NO BE SAY I GBORO FOR THE LANGUAGE, but for me to be a Yoruba babe, I sabi am quite alright. I sabi the modern yoruba, by modern yoruba I mean the one that's kind of mixed with english beacuse for me to say I can speak it very well be say, I sabi the original traditional yoruba language, and that's not my case lol.
Wetin I dey try to talk be say, dey no born me for Nigeria but I still sabi am a bit.
Not to talk of people when be Igbo, and them dey stay Lagos or any other Yoruba land, they still learn it.
No matter wich yoruba land yo dey, e no hard: You go just dey learn am some how.
Even if you no dey Yoruba land and you help your self with internet or any friend that can speak it, once you hear a word: You don memorize am bit that.
Na very easy thing. And Btw it's also a very popular language, yoruba no hard at all. wink

CareerAll Yoruba People: Let's Get Talking! by Miyo(op):
All yoruba people: Ema bo o! Let's talk!
What do you think of this thread for people that can speak yoruba but maybe don't know it very very well?
Like me for example, I can speak it but Jesus Christ if you hear my accent ... You would think I'm an oyinbo, if not for my skin color.
So anyone who knows the language perfectly: Coming o!
Words, phrases and greetings, anything would help!
Also don't mind knowing from what part of yoruba land you come from: I'm from Ogere remo in ogun State, only from my father's part and for the fact that I was born outside Nigeria, detarmines my poor yoruba (accent and some phrases)
Also if you want to talk about you favourite yoruba dish, that's welcomed also! wink

Una weldone o. I don read all una discussions and must say: It really helped.
I'm Yoruba on my father's side, while Delta state from my mother's. Infact my mum's mixed: Half uhrobo, half isoko.
I sabi my papa language, I fit speak am well, make I talk so.
But the thing when dey hard me na my mama language: Isoko and Uhrobo. I no sabi the language at all.
For house na so so yoruba I dey here them speak, and my mother teaches me very little of Isoko, not much at all.
All I can say in Isoko is:
-Migwo (its a greeting)
-Vre do. (response of an elder to the greeting)
-Keria (sit down)
-Oghene (God)
-Wosobo ran or something like that I no want disgrace myself for here (Should me wash your hands, if I'm not making a mistake)
-Riso da me (an insult my mother oftenly says when she's angry lol and even though I think I know, I ain't gonna say the meaning cause I'm sooo ashamed lol)
-Gna(go)
-Unu (Mouth)
Then maybe I know other little words like this but nothing else.
I really wanna learn to speak it, cause I love the language and I love my mum's tribe and culture! I'm ashamed I can't speak it! cry embarassed
Isoko and Uhrobo wadooo!
