I applied on February 5th but 2 of my friends got their approval already and they applied in late February.

Don't know if it's advisable to start sending web forms?

Although, I tried sending just one and I got an automatic response from Nairobi. This brings me to the question about Nairobi.

Pls, applications sent to Nairobi does it usually come out good?

Does it also get much delay before approvals?

Thanks for your responses!

Tolifefun:
when did you apply and how long have you been waiting? Keep praying that it should end in praise. Ircc is unpredictable . Some get approval early, while some experience a little delay.

Pls, which portal did you and your friend used to apply?

Ilueh:

As much as I can’t say if this is a reason, my friend and I who were both August applicants sent emails until they warned us to stop sending. 3 weeks later after they warned my friend, and 2 weeks after they warned me, our PPR came on the same day, December 29th.

Keep sending emails and webforms and back it up with serious prayers.

Oh.....I see. sounds good!

Thank you!

Pace6:

This is for the new portal and yes you can start an application by uploading your documents, leave it then come back to it provided that you haven’t submitted. You have about 60 days to submit before the application gets deleted. And NO it will not affect your application.

Pls is this for the new portal?

In the new portal is it possible to start an application,
save and come back later to continue?

And if it is possible, will it affect the application later?

Pace6:

The code will be sent to your email, that’s what you’ll register with. Hope your email is valid?

Generate invitation code with this link
https://ircc.canada.ca/visit-visiter/en/get-account-ircc-portal

Then proceed to apply with
https://portal-portail.apps.cic.gc.ca/signin?lang=en

Generate the code from the first link, then proceed to the second link to register.

Alright. Thanks for your response.

Pls on the new portal are there columns where you specifically give detailed informations of all siblings or family members?

And columns for pictures and birth certificates as well? where exactly did u add them?

@johnstan

johnstan:

*At immigrations in Canada I was only asked if I brought meat. I said no and I was handed my study permit.
* I applied in July, was approved in Nov.
* Used the new portal cos I did not want to fill those Pdf forms on the old Portal.
* Non accompanying siblings/fam members are good home ties, ensure you upload anything linking you to them. (Pictures, birth certificates etc)
* I can't tell if they will be contacted or not.

Cheers.

Congratulations once again!
Happy new year!

Pls I would like to ask..

1. Were you asked any question at the POF?

2. When did you submit ur application?

3. How long did you wait for ur decision to be out?

4. Did you use the GC Key portal or the New Portal?

5. Is it a must to include siblings birth certificates and pictures on the GC key portal?

6. Will they reach out to my siblings via phone call or email to confirm if I'm there sibling? Even if none of them is my sponsor?

johnstan:
Landing gist....

Everything from my admission to my arrival in Canada was my first attempt and I thank God for his grace.

My flight departure time was 1:40pm, it was moved to 1:20pm and I didn't know till I arrived at the airport, thankfully I was there 4 hrs to the time. See crowd (people dey really comot naija o) the place be like island market, noisy, ridiculously small, hot and unorganized.
Got in with fam members who came to see me off and firstly the scanner did not work for several minutes. When it finally worked/scanned my bags, I headed to the airline saying excuse me up n down so I could pass the crowd.
Omo despite all my arrangements the bags were 30kg each instead of 23kg each, na there I begin bargain for the excess luggage and had to settle them before I was able to check-in the bags. From there to immigration and customs, they were very fast, I only submitted my passport/tickets and filled the yellow card.
We left Lagos 40mins late cos everybody wan board at the same time, dem just dey shout *queue up, single line* but e no work. We sha boarded and damn those Ethiopian airline crew ladies fine sha.
My first flight experience and first international flight, I just dey happy dey smile like cow. Food served was actually good just that dem wan use rice choke person. Lunch and dinner na rice every time throughout all the flights.
Flight was good, got to Addis Ababa and mehn come see airport na, large, organized and finally people come queue. We did the usual scanning and routine search and joined the next flight after 2hrs layover. The descending flight at Dublin was the worst, my head wan explode, my belle just dey turning on ein own. It was as though we were falling instead of descending. After an hour of refueling we flew to Toronto from there.
Flight to Toronto was good, we arrived and met the large beautiful airport. See crowd of first time students. I could count the blacks/Nigerians, the rest were Indians/Asians.
We queued, did self declaration (arrive-can was useless) and In a few minutes we were issued our student permits (it's usually the entire duration of the visa/length of program).
Got out of the airport to pick an Uber and it was as though I walked into a deep freezer lol, I immediately wore my winter jacket ontop of the sweater I was wearing, wore my hand gloves and I was fine.

Canada is large and beautiful. Tarred roads, the express had like 10 lanes each. I was debited for the Uber ride immediately I booked unlike naija where you are billed after your ride. The driver Even stopped to buy fuel (in my mind if na naija now u fit stop dey buy fuel when my trip dey read?)

If I could do this myself, I believe anyone can and I pray that everyone still praying and hoping on God will smile at the end.

But the notarization should be done by a NotaryPublic?

sos123:
Nope.

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by mizchoco: 8:41pm On Dec 29, 2022
Alright. Thanks.

sos123:
sorry-- IMO -- means -- in my opinion.

I did it in Abuja high court

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by mizchoco: 8:25pm On Dec 29, 2022
Pls at what location did you do urs?
Is IMO you stated here suppose to mean Imo state , I don't get that.
Did you also request for the Digital Affidavit? I just read this somewhere now don't know about it that's why I'm asking.

sos123:
From research, I heard both are fine. But I used the high court. No institution is really greater than the court IMO. I paid 3k

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by mizchoco: 8:19pm On Dec 29, 2022
Can the Affidavit of return be done by a Notary Public?

sos123:
1. Letter of introduction is separate. that shows my job description, level, line manager ETC.
The reference letter stated that I do not owe my institution anything and I'm of good conduct

2. My affidavit of return stated (high court of justice not employer)
I'm applying for a study permit to Canada for two years course
My school name
That I will return to my home country after school provided that my visa expires
That I depose to this affidavit in good faith and for record purposes.

3. To be honest, I have seen people get approval without a police certificate. Please just be safe and add it. When i did mine it was 13K now its 45k. Naija! Just tie all the knots

Also, please when you go to the court request for the digital affidavit, it has a barcode that anyone can scan and it redirects them to the high court of justice website. This will show that it is genuine.

Start and End with prayers, because only God can give you the strength for this process.

Do your own research, watch a lot of videos on youtube and read different forums.

We can all do this application ourselves, but please use an agent if you're not well-versed in the process. To avoid mistakes.

Don't pick an agent that doesn't have your time. Ask questions, and Pick his/her brain. From your little research of the process, you will be able to find out if the agent knows his onions.

Write your SOP yourself Please. Only you can tell your story. If you're using an agent tell him your story truthfully so that he can advise you. If you're not using an agent find someone on this platform to talk to and polish your SOP and Story. Agents don't usually write SOPs sef.

Form A access has been hard recently but please don't give out money to just anyone to help you fast-track the process. Always use a banker you can hold. Don't pay anyone money you meet online. The heart of Man is wicked.

My agent was wonderful, stayed and prayed with me throughout the process.

Now start to Exercise Patience! Build your shield.

PRAYYYYY!!!!

My experience was crazy ...... 27 weeks no be beans. I was sending web forms every day and the replies were generic. I sent mails to MP, PRIME MINISTER, MINISTER FOR IMMIGRATION, and EVERYBODY FOR OVER 13 WEEKS BEFORE I RECEIVED PPR TODAY.

I left Nairaland for some time for my mental health but today I'm back with Joy. Thanks to everyone here, I made friends & family here.

Please anyone can reach out to me anytime for any form of guidance.

Peace

Nope. Your balance and transaction history at the time you submitted your application is what will be used to judge your POF.
Sending an updated POF after topping up your account will not be considered except you were specifically asked by IRCC to send a new statement

Alright. Same here. Going for 2yrs program as well.

Yeah.... I'm working on that.

Pls do you think 1.5m or atleast 1m is okay to back it up?

Yes, I have assets from my mum as a gift. And my parents also own their separate assets as well. All assets valuated and surveyed separately together with a car document.

Wsx2:

2years
You don't use only loan document .back it up with some little funds in your bank account and if you have assets add them.i have a lot of properties business and investment it's clear enough to vo that I can payback no need of explanation.their citizens also use their country loan to go to school even their own citizens can't afford to pay in cash to go to school.its not a bad thing taking loans

Sorry for the late response

My cousin bro in the U.S did everything, I honestly didn't know how he did he it. But I think he has used their services before. So he did the whole stuff which I really don't know what to explain here. So I won't mislead you. Sorry about that.

Btw, I think u can also check other loan companies as well so you won't have to put all your eggs in one basket

Please since you used Sallie Mae help me out on how to go about it.

Please I have been trying to apply for student loan from this organization. I'm not a US citizen neither do I have a parmanent resident permit. But I have someone in US that can act as my cosigner. Now my question is this..
When filling it they asked me to put a US address which I don't have, please how do I go about it.?

Should my cosigner act as me and fill the entire application form.?
How did you do yours.. Please I really need your response. Thank you.

Pls I would like to ask..

How much loan did you opted out from your loan company?

Did your loan covers for both tuition and living costs?

Wsx2:

Sorry guys

I have been busy
Applied august 9th
Upfront med passed oct 19
Eligibility never started
Background never started
Bvl December 1st
Another bvl 19 dec
Followed by ppr 19th dec

Didn’t submit much documents
Just few I even use phone to snap the documents sef didn’t really took the
application serious coz my bank account balance just around 2.9m was nothing to write home about but I got home ties. I don’t leave money in my account coz I have uncompleted house projects which I am still spending on.

I invested all my money so I don’t have to work another day to survive due to nigeria situation.I have properties worth over 95m all are houses not land. 5 houses 6 purchased condos 15 tenants Most of the houses documents aren’t ready due to government approval delays but I have stamp duty and land receipts deeds and ratification . I have a company aswell and a farm and also shares in mtn and other companies.

I took Mpower loan and the bank statement only as POF

Then I attached all the investment documents tenancy agreement my company and farm documents and LOA . Total about 12 documents to proof to those dudes that I am blessed already even with low account balance.

I just returned from Europe aswell

Goodluck to those still waiting

Is the loan covering for both tuition and living expenses?
