"when I came into the room, I met you laying down on the ground sleeping and bleeding, I was scared at first but I realized it was the effect of too much brandy, I cleaned you up and padded you, I'm happy you are awake now".

for the first time in her life she tasted love.

her conscience pricked her.

voices in her sneered at her.

Maggie had excused her to go fetch water.

the voices grew louder.

she sat down, she confronted it.

she stood up.

she felt a sharp pain.

she tried to stand up again and realized moist seeping down from her skirt.

it was thick and reddish in colour.

more voices in her head. all laughing.

she tried to walk and the bleeding increased.

she saw things double.

"Maggie, Maggie, she screamed as she fell into oblivion.

she held into the door for balance.

her head was spinning.

oh no!

this can't be true. she can't be pregnant.

she bit her tongue so hard she tasted blood.
the pain she felt was imaginable.

why her?

Maggie came over to her and held her shoulder.

she wept.

Maggie tried to console her but she was inconsolable.

how can she bring forth a child?
why is nature repeating itself?

she can't bring forth a cursed child.

Maggie told her not to lose hope,

not to cry.

she told her that there's nothing without solution. bringing up or birthing a child is a decision and if one is not up to it, she can easily flush it.

she raised her head when she heard the word 'flush'.

she understood what Maggie meant.

she knew without thinking twice that she would abort the child.

to kill whatever was growing in her.

she never thought of being a mother.

she can't and she won't.

if her parent had succeeded in terminating her, she would never have been in this condition.

she will never forgive herself if she ever brought a child into her world.

her world of misery.

her world of suffering and pain.

all she wanted to know now was when the abortion would take place.

that was her only solution.
