Islam for Muslims / Re: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by Mjsod: 3:27am On Mar 21, 2018
Mjsod:
Good evening. I am a muslim by birth, but not really grinded in it, if you know what i mean. Although, I work in a muslim org. Well, I would love to make acquaintances.

Also, is there anyone here around Ojota, Ketu axis in Lagos? I wish to know how accommodation is around that venue.
So, no response all these while. Guess the thread is obsolete/ obviously not frequented.

Islam for Muslims / Sermons And Khutbah by Mjsod: 4:19am On Jan 25, 2018
The internet is fast becoming the new mosque. Let's help get the best out of it, otherwise...
We can post on this thread full khutbah, preferably short ones that can be told to friends and young ones. We should also post friday khutbah's also, observing its full rights. Videos/Audios are allowed but remember this is a reading thread, so we all can learn how to give khutbah in our various homes and communities.

it's a good thing to identify as a humanist but quick question.

Do you believe in God or not?

I would have ignored this but I'll not this time. Why is my religiousity or irreligiousity worthy of note. It is a personal conviction. Anyways, majority of Nigerians cum Africans commercialize religion. Hypocrisy at its best.

Please tell us about your encounters with the wonderful Nigerian atheists that you met, and why you think most of them are confused.

some are just looking for freedom from religious stress and laws, hence the disbeliefs. they do not really have a broad understanding of the concept. some were swayed by the success of atheists intercontinentally, and feel religion undermines their success, hence the disbelief. I take it that you have to be fully aware of a concept to be involved in it. I understand humanism, and I identify as such.

Yes, there are atheists in Nigeria, wonderful people I must confess. The thing is majority of Nigerian atheists are actually a confused set who just happen to see a group to follow.

And that is why I identify as a humanist. Still have researches and facts to unravel in my quest/thirst for knowledge.
