Yesterday, Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, told state house correspondents in Abuja that the reason the Super Falcons who recently won the African Women Cup of Nations have not been paid their allowances is because they were not expected to win the competition.


“Don’t forget that nobody even knew the team would emerge victorious. If we were confident they would emerge victorious, all the federation would have done is to plan for process of participation and entitlement.


And when they win, it’s already established in sports tradition that when you win, this is what you’re entitled to. A lady identified as Rachel has set the home of one pastor Isaac Shofolabo whom she is having an affair with; killing his wife, two kids and a guest. The incident occurred around 1 a.m at 46, Oladunni Memorial Street, Double Powerline, Ejibo Lagos state.

According to neighbors, Rachel who is their tenant, has been dating the pastor who is in charge of Celestial Church of God, Joy of the Lord Parish located inside the premises for five years. The pastor's wife, Mary Shofolabo, his children Taiwo, 19, and Iredamola and a relative, Kazeem, 7, died at the General Hospital, Gbagada where they rushed to for treatment.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a security guard, Haruna Abubakar, in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, for allegedly killing his friend.


It was learnt that Abubakar and the victim, a herdsman, whose name had yet to be ascertained, worked on a farm in the area.


It was gathered that Abubakar and the victim were on the farm on Saturday when a disagreement ensued between them. The altercation was said to have led to a scuffle, during which the 28-year-old suspect hacked the herdsman to death.read more here>>

The young lady pictured above was allegedly strangled by her boyfriend. According to Facebook user, May Ebute, who shared the story, the victim was killed on Saturday night and by Sunday morning, neighbours woke up to find the dead body and the boyfriend missing.

The enterprise, which issued fraudulently obtained legitimate visas, counterfeit visas, and other false identification documents, was overseen by figures from Ghanaian and Turkish crime rings working in cahoots with corrupt Ghanaian officials, the US State Department said in a statement. It operated three days a week in Accra, the capital.

After “torturing” a man to death, Nigeria’s secret police, SSS, exploited the influence of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, to pay a paltry N15 million compensation to the victim’s family, Premium Times has learnt.


At about 2.30 a.m. on April 4, SSS operatives on the trail of a suspect accused of cloning the phone number of the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, stormed No 37, Aje Street, Pleasure, in the Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos in commando style.


Residents of the address said the operatives scaled the fence of the compound, screaming and threatening as they knocked down doors and shattered ceilings. They rough-handled residents, who thought they were armed robbers as they did not introduce themselves, dragged them from their beds, ordered them out of their apartments and forced them to sit on the dusty ground of the compound.

Well, as you know Oritse Femi is very talented and has the right appeal I needed for the song and a beautiful soul to work with.


How do you operate from both the movie and music industry?


Well, since it’s the same Entertainment Industry, as an entertainer, I’m fitting in well by God’s Grace.



What’s your take on the present state of the Nigerian music industry?


If you ask me, I think it’s getting better. Though it still lacks proper structure that solidly holds and protects the rights of an artiste but it can only get better and with time, it will be great.


What inspired your name, Adokiye?


The full name is Adokiyebaralasa meaning, ‘what I’m looking for is already with me’. The inspiration came from an event that took place when I was born; something miraculous happened to my dad when I came into this world, so my mum gave me the name, Adokiye.



Tell us briefly about your background?


I come from a very staunch Catholic family. My full name is Adokiye Ngozi Yvonne Kyrian. My mum is from Okrika in Rivers State, while my dad is from Imo State, Oguta LGA.

Professionally, I’m an Architect; I graduated from Caritas University, a Catholic institution owned by the Very Reverend Father Edeh.



What inspired your new single?


I got the inspiration to talk about love.



What’s your take on early marriage?


Well, I’m not really a fan of early marriage because I believe one should be physically, spiritually, mentally and psychologically ready for the institution called marriage.

I don’t see any need rushing into it if you would rush out of it.

Though some people have been lucky with it but it’s best to be fully ready still.



Do you believe in love at first sight, ever experience it?


Yes sure, I believe in love at first sight.

The deposits are different from the $15.5million earlier traced to the ex-First Lady which made the agency place No Debit Order on four accounts. According to a report by The Nation newspaper, the deposits were found in the account of Pluto Property and Investment Limited, one of the firms linked to Mrs. Jonathan.EFCC detectives discovered that the account was opened on November 30, 2013 by Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited with number 2110002238. The company was registered on January 29, 2013 with RC 1092722. The “strange” deposits came within 14 months. The deposits are: 21/2/2014—$46,500,000; 24/2/2014—$31,000,000; 31/3/2015—$49,250,000; 1/4/ 2015—$49,000,000 “The EFCC is probing how the deposits hit the company’s account barely two years after it was registered and without executing any major contract. We are suspecting that this is another slush account where government funds were diverted to,” a source was quoted. The source said: “All the deposits were in cash, a development which showed that it was a pure case of money laundering.

A 35-year-old man, Michael Atanda, who specialised in blackmailing lovers by threatening to display their nude pictures on social media, especially Facebook, if they refused to pay his monetary demands, has been arrested by operatives of Rapid Response Squad, RRS, of Lagos State Police Command. It was gathered that he was apprehended while blackmailing four ladies on the social media, who failed to pay the money he demanded.
The suspect, a Computer Science National Diploma holder of a popular computer school based in Ikeja, was said to have confessed to the crime. Atanda, who was also said to be an ex-convict and a father of three, was caught in the process of collecting N121,000 from the four girlfriends he was blackmailing. He wanted the ladies to pay more or face the prospect of their nude pictures exposed on social media. How I work—SUSPECT In his profile on Facebook, he is Segun Bayo, a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, and goes about adding several ladies as friends. According to him, after two weeks, he would start chatting with them, saying “the profile picture on my Facebook account is that of a guy based in London. As part of my introduction to ladies, I tell them that I am a construction engineer and that my parents and I are living Europe. “After sometime, I would lure them into sexual conversations during which I persuade them to send their nude pictures to me. They would send and I would send mine to them too. “Before that I would pretend that I was seeking a serious relationship with them, and that very soon I would be coming to Abuja on a business trip, during which I would see them. “I would also feign seriousness by calling them with the aid of a computer software that transforms my Nigerian line into an international line. “Meanwhile, I would warn them that I was calling through a public phone booth. As soon as they have sent their nude pictures, I would come up with all manners of stories, then begin to extort and blackmail them. “Through these means, I have collected over N121,000 from my latest victims. I was jailed last years for fraudulently collecting N700,000 from a lady I met through a dating site. I was eventually bailed, but the case is still pending in court. “I have collected only 10,000 from Funmilola; Motunrayo, N6,000; Joy, N5,000 and Lizzy, N100,000.” Victims won’t press charges A source in RRS disclosed that apart from Lizzy, who reported the incident but declined to press charges, three other suspects, who were discovered during investigations, acknowledged on phone that they had been paying the suspect so he will not leak their nude photographs online. The source added that though investigators had uncovered more victims after checking the suspect’s Facebook conversations, all of them had refused to come forward after confirming they were paying the suspect through his bank account. The source added that out of the 210 friends on his Facebook profile, over 195 were young ladies. Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Dolapo Badmus, said a thorough investigation on the case was ongoing. The suspect has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, for further investigations.
