2legit2qwt: Have we stopped our airlines from flying to Liberia, Guinea et al? Have we raised concerns about our porous borders? I'm yet to read lately of anything that publicizes such against countries with over 3000 deaths from the virus. America's only confirmed case was brought in by an African, same with the ones in Europe. These were caregivers helping your brothers, sacrificing their lives to help you. Not until yesterday was it released in the news that Nigeria will be sending people to help their neighbors while your slave masters have been doing it for quite a while.
That said, do well next time at least to make an intelligent comment before showing your level of IQ in a public forum. 1000% AGREE WITH YOU, the so called slave master (US) has sent thousands of troops, drugs, equipment to help ebola hit countries from far away North America while the USELES GIANT OF AFRICA, NIGERIA, A COUNTRY WITH ONLY ONE TESTICLE - hasn't sent a single medical team, even though they are within the same West African region. londoner: Nigeria has sent over 600 volunteers to Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea and maybe you are not aware that volunteer hospital staff have lost their lives also in Nigeria, treating ebola patients.
CNN is not going to tell you that, it does not fit into the narrative of the helpless African relying on the great white/western saviour.
Before you judge, it may be better to do some research.
The US is sending troops, now that they are in the ebola firing line. This is after denying supply of their Znapp medication to the Nigerian government, before they were able to contain it.

dasparrow: Are you and/or your parents not Nigerian? Why then do you wish Nigeria evil? Why is it so difficult for some of you to accept that there are Nigerians who are really not eager to travel out? Are you aware that some of us were born in the West anyway but raised in Nigeria and have lived overseas but now choose to live elsewhere? I don't know why anytime something positive is reported about Nigeria, you anti-Nigeria haters come here to spew nonsense. Is it because Seun Osewa the owner of Nairaland who is a Nigerian and living in Nigeria is being tolerant with your kind?
If you love USA so much, go to an American forum and spew your anti-Nigeria hate there. There you might just get enough people that will agree with your self-hating shady mindset. The Americans you worship will never see you as one of them. As long as an African parent(s) brought you into this world, you will always been seen as 'the African' by both black and white americans. I lived in the US longer than I lived in Nigeria so I know what the heck I am talking about. This platform you are utilizing to talk crap about Nigeria was created by a Nigerian in Nigeria. Seun can choose to ban toxic elements like yourself because this forum is for Nigerians and friends of Nigeria not enemies of Nigeria like you. Anyways, keep doing you. Pride comes before a fall and God has a way of bringing down the arrogant while exalting the humble. Whether you haters like it or not, it is Nigeria's time to shine. If you and your ilk don't like it, go and jump over a cliff. Nairaland will not miss you.

What can I say? No one knows tomorrow. God hates the arrogant and proud. USA is too arrogant for her own good. All passengers emanating from the USA should be properly screened because we don't want Ebola again in Nigeria. Look at the school kids, they resumed school late in Nigeria because of ebola. May ebola keep its distance from Nigeria and Africa forever, Amen. Nigerians, Nigerian, u people never cease to amaze me.
The U.S recorded its first Ebola case as a result of a Liberian travelling to Dallas and developed the symptoms there.
Already some of you are happy that Nigerian travellers are cancelling their flight to the US & Europe. ( A VERY BIG LIAR)
LET ME ASK, is Nigeria the only country in the world? last I checked, they are more flights to the US from many European, Asian, Australia, ME countries than Nigeria's.
BA alone has 4 flights per day to NYC, that excluding LA, Boston etc. Luf has many more. Air France, Emirates, etc
please Nigerians Shut up. You are not only country, they are millions more already travelling to the US.
In addition, I thought Nigeria is very religious country, u know Love thy neigbour & leave everything to God, kind of talk.

lastpage: SirShymex,
I have read everything you wrote but dont ot want to quote it verbatim, just to save space. In as much as l agree with most of what you wrote, l still want us to ponder on afew "salient" questions"
1.) Monkey and rats are not new species in Africa, they have been around for ages. .... and we have been eating them in their various forms of "bush meat". Some people even eat snakes (and it is not unique to Africans alone, Chinese people eat Lizards and all sorts of "bush meat".) So first question is: WHEN did,... and HOW did these "bush meats" have/develop the virus or when and how did they become "host" to these virus?
2.)As a follow-up question, Ebola specifically, infected humans for the first time in the Congo about 1976. If we take the theory that it was caused by Monkeys and/or Bats, how come that generations of Africans who have been eating these 'bush meats' NEVER were infetcted with Ebola, for generations, before that?
3.) Africans eat everything available! Liek some one pointed out, if a "country-chicken" starts to misbehave and acting funny (that infection that kills them but makes them twist their neck and swirl around in circles before they eventually die ... "Kooli" in Yoruba), we simply slaughter it and eat it.... both the Chicken and its infection! How come we did not develop Ebola or some other variants of the Kooli infection?
4.) HIV was alien to Africa and probably the whole world until of recent and like all other "incurable disease", why must it have to originate from Africa?...... to be "detected and curable" by the Americans ..al the time?
Now, my apologies but l think anyone who is NOT prepared to at least "examine the plausibility" of the theory that "Africans, due to our own carelessness-induced poverty, have been turned to a 'Human Guinea Pig" for the cultivation and testing of various types of Bio-Weapons, by the West, especially America, is playing the Ostrich.
some will quickly tag it 'conspiracy theory" but l say, "At least, just look into the possibility", using logical reasoning based on some "coincidences", over time, which could probably give you a timeline that connects the t's and dot's?
One poster, 'Musilimu" (Muslim? ) posted something about Tulane research and no one is researching it to see if the post was even true or fabricated? We are an endangered species and we cant afford to be "sheeple" like most Americans who beleive ONLY what their govt tells them, true or fabricated! I am open to "all sources of information" and will take time to read-up on each one, do my own independent research and form an INFORMED OPINION of my own, based on what l have read and deciphered. But most people condemn and trash information, simply because they dont like the "messenger"!
Many declassified information has shown that Americans have "experimented" on all sorts of dangerous things, from Chemical weapons, to Biological weapons and will go to great lengths to HIDE this experiments, from the Guinea Pigs, who incidentally happen to be blacks, being the most poverty stricken and illiterate breed on humans on earth!!
Some years recent, Dolphins and Whales (large sea animals)suddenly started "beaching and dying" without any explanations, from Nigeria to South Africa to Spain! Well, there were suggestions that the Americans who were working nearby on a different project, were actually testing new Biological weapons using Sonar! When it became "news", though the Americans never accepted but they stopped their work and the animal death also stooped! Coincidence?
For a nation that "tested" banned munitions and new variants on people in Iraq and Afghanistan (White Phosphorus, e.t.c), on Vietnamese (Agent orange) and Japanese long ago, NOTHING IS BEYOND THEM and to just brush it aside can be our greatest undoing. I do not hate America, l have travelled there a few times on Holiday and am still going, just like l travel to other countries around the world when l have the time, but that does not mean we can "discuss' them and what they do.
I am inclined to think that the "new" Ebola Virus outbreak in Liberia and Sierra Leone was a "Lab-testing" of a biological weapon otherwise, how come the American Defence Department was involved in the work of Zmapp?
Again, l think they just needed to go the next step, which is "human testing", something they cant do in the U.S, by injecting the Virus into the Monkeys, knowing fully well that 'Africans are bush meat eaters" and will unknowingly eat the Monkey at a stage and the Monkeys wil spread it around amongst themselves anyway!
Now, imagine if America was not aware that "it has a cure in-place", do you think they will allow a possible "INCURABLE biological catastrophe" to be brought on American soil, (rather than experiment with treatment Abroad), like they quickly asked the two safePurse health workers to be brought to Atlanta? NEVER, its not in American I tell you, they knew what they were doing from day-1.
Just like "Security Companies" who manufacture "Anti-Virus Software", it is feasible that they would actually manufacture the "virus first" in the Lab, have enough time to develop a cure and probably "release the virus" to the world through a "third party" and then claim they have done research on the virus and can cure it ...... of course, for a good fee!
In America's case, that "fee" would or may not be monetary but global control and dominance! In war, everything and anything is possible..... and Africa is at war with civilization and dominance.
Someone said, if it were possible to remove TWO THINGS from the World, the world will be a Paradise: 1) ISLAM as a religion! 2.) Black Humans!!
Now, l am not defending either of the two above but if you look at American policy, subtly, it is trying to achieve both, in a very "humane, democratic and civilized way"!
Anyway, l still cant blame anyone for my own failures, if afterso many years l cant figure it out and solve my problem! All these my "finger-pointing" is just for awareness alone, it does not solve the real problem. The solution lies with we Africans looking ourselves in the eye and saying: Look, you don phuck-up big time, NOW SIT UP and TAKE YOUR PLACE AMONGST NATIONS, FROM NOW ON!
That wont be easy, because there are "forces" whose"interests" are "diametrically opposed" to that, ...but we have no choice really! Patrice Mulumba, Jonas Savimbi, Maumar Ghadafi tried it, Allende of Chile and many more who tried it, got murdered, directly or indirectly by "you-know-whom"? You wont get any cookies for guessing right.
Cheers Bro and nice day.
Lastpage! This is one of the dumbest comments I have ever read. why are your sources or evidence to suggest Ebola is the result of Lab testing. for Goodness sake think and analyze the issue, Ebola spread within West Africa because we live in the 21st century ( Modern Transportation) not 11th century. Stop blaming America and the west for your personal failures (being an Olodo and making Olodo -like statements) and Africa's failures in containing the spread. ak4God: America want to control the world by all means.Pls how do we come about this Ebola in the first place? They said through Monkeys, apes animals etc,but are there no monkeys or animals in America?Maybe they re of different species.Infact they have more contacts with these animals than us.They practise bestiality(Having sex with animals),which is a taboo in Africa. The other time they said we should not eat chicken again because of flu,but i could remember when i was younger in the early 80s and 90s when you see any chicken exihibiting a strange symptons(KOLI) we killed the chicken instantly and eat it,nothing happened to us,why is it that now they are saying we cant eat bush meat, chicken and so on?Also anytime they want to discover any sickness, its always from Black African"s country, why not Egypt,Libya,Tunisia,Algeria and so on? The fact is that most of these so called researchers go into laboratories and prepare one virus,at the same time the ANTI VIRUS,then take flight to AFRICA,inject the animal they wanted and release the animal back into the forest, then a hunter killed the animal with excitement shared eat among his family or sell it,then virus starts spreading, whereby the Americans have the Anti virus already,Then overnight they claimed to have found the solutions. What we are experincing now is called MENTAL SLAVERY.Forget all these stories and aids they are given. It has been premeditated So AFRICA,All that glitters is not gold,SHINE YOUR EYE!! RKVINTLTD: Nigeria is the best in the world, I am not biased. We messed up all things.
During The Pre-colonial administration, Nigeria Agricultural Produce export alone can feed Africa, Nigeria also has the largest Mineral resources deposit in the whole world, to confirm this claims go to WHR-WORLD MAP via google.com, click on each countries of the world and check the mineral resources to find how blessed that country is, you will be convinced.
It is the potentials which the Europe saw in Nigeria that brought Pre-colonialism and Imperialism so as to tap West Africa Investment opportunities which Include; African Petroleum, West Africa Portland Cement, United African Company UAC - Royal Niger Company, UTC, among others which had investment in Agricultural Export of Nigeria Cocoa Produce, Groundnut Pyramid of Kano, Cotton Exportation, Hides and skin export, Coal exportation and Railway Utilization, Petroleum crude oil exporting, Coffee export, Tobacco export, Tin & Iron ore exportation, Mahogany & Hard wood exportation, Gold mining exportation, Salt manufacturing, Textile, among others.
Why We are backward today is as result of our selfish leaders, who lost their respect in the international world for their inhuman attitude toward Socialism and National development. The Europeans know Nigeria as a blessed and Wealthy nation but leader fail to tap the resources to the advantage of the Masses which they Administer. In overseas Human right is paramount and Welfare of citizens but the reverse is the case in Nigeria. That is why the Europeans term us as Backward nations because we fail to turn our resources around.
China today will soon become become one of the Richest Nations of the world and have a place in one of the powerful nations of the world because of the sense of commitment, dedication, loyalty to their nation as well as economy consciousness.
We can still get there if we can realize this now before it is too late.
Ordinarily, If you are rich, people will want to associate with you, else you are on your own. OYO.
If you have resources and you can not deliver too, no body can recognize you.
Just like if King Sunny Ade would visit South Africa He will pool crowd, Baba 70 Fela if still alive can pool Crowd, If Abiola is still alive surely America will welcome him, Dangote will receive ovation any where in world today. Boon-Slayer: Hehehe What the heck is so important about Nigeria? the country is just an embarrassment to black people. Nigerians have the worst reputation in the whole world. What is so great about Nigeria? is Nigeria not shithole? what is giant about Nigeria? is it her size which is not the largest in africa? is it her overpopulation which needs to be reduced? is it her oil economy which does not reflect on nigerian society? Is it her low educational standards? Human right? world class healthcare ? high tech Millitary? All i see about the current Nigeria is Giant of Mediocrity. Very Loud and obnoxious bunch, these Nigerians. 100% agree. Nigerians they are very loud mouthed people that feel they are important. Giant Africa with no cajornes Education standard = zero, strike, strike, strike healthcare = their leaders fly abroad, that says a lot about it economy = without oil, the country is broke High military = still use soviet 70's weapon, compared it with Egyptian military Nigeria, the most useless clowns |

tex baba: i pity you South africans, now you can all open your mouth and say rubbish about Nigeria init? You guys should just watchout, Nigeria will get its act together, solve its leadership problems and take its rigthful place amongs the very important nations of the world. But as for u SAans, u think u dont and cant need us again abi, no p. With your black nation white blood country, the only thing u blacks there have going for you is that one of you is the president. aside that, SA economy is totally run by the whites. The majority of blacks are poor, homeless, jobless and hopeles...this you all knw too well. Let me remind you also that an average Nigerian is far better than an average south african, we are not and can never be mates. Nigeria owns and runs its economy nd proudly so too. The only time SA will beat Nigeria at anything is if the whites are involved...like rugby, and thats even for now. Thank God for Mandela in your lives, now that the Great man is no more, i wish u well with ur white dominated economy, u are already booing ur president in the public at mandela's burial...u guys shld just not bother to run to Nigeria because u have bitten the hand that fed you, nd its not ur fault at all. Lets watch and see between Nigeria nd south africa. Ungrateful elements. Nigerians sounding like the Giant of Africa with ONE TESTICLE. Nigeria will NEVER NEVER get its acts together, not with this present generation of leaders.I have heard that talk before; Vision 2000, Vision 2007, Vision 2012 now Vision 2020. Naijas { yeye people}, for goodness sake, respect from SA should be earned not demanded. |
