I think it's intentional strategy meant to frustrate applicants from this part of the world. If you look at their website they've given you the option to withdraw your application due to lengthy processing time. How can a visa application take 5 months to process? Even if there's a need for in-depth verification as they always claim, which by the way I think that's a lie. Imagine seeking honesty and truthfulness from applicants and then you don't reciprocate.

I think it's a new strategy they've deployed to frustrate and discourage visa applications to travel to Ireland. They claim it's the volume of applications they receive and verification of documents I suspect that's a lie because they definitely don't receive more visa applications than the United Kingdom. The UK can never delay applications like this. The visa decision list they release every Mondays lists only about 60 to 70 applicants per week.

Wow!!! Shocked to hear they're delaying applications for up to 6 months. This is absolutely ridiculous wow!!! They collect application fees and then don't want to process the application. If they don't want to accept visa applications for a certain category from Nigerians they should just announce it instead of this childish scam like criminal behavior of deliberately delaying applications perhaps so the applicants would get frustrated and withdraw their application.
