Tosade01:
How was this journey, please share your experience if you partook.
It was a wonderful experience, you can’t get the full gist except you have a personal encounter but i will try to share a little.

I went to Songhai sometime last year on a road trip from Lagos to port novo. I went with Geo Meridien Travel expert. Myself and my colleagues was picked at Shop-rite in Sango otta in a full Air conditioned vehicle and we headed to Port Novo. It was a smooth ride with no border palava.
We arrived Songhai around 7pm and we were lounged in an hotel suite, It was the room close to the Ostrich Zoo...the sight was amazing (I had not seen ostrich in a long time so i was super excited. After a warm bath, we had dinner at the European restaurant ( i had white rice and smoked chicken with Songhai cocktail juice we will gist about the food some other time)
We retired to bed and was asked to be ready by 7am.
In the morning around 7.10 we were ready (a colleague delayed us) We had a young tour guide who could speak Yoruba, English and French
She told us a brief history of Songhai farms and that the convener is a Nigerian (i was wowed) She showed us all the sectors in Songhai, from the Juice processing unit to the Fishery, the poultry, the snail farm, the mushroom farm(you really need to see for yourself), the palm oil processing unit, The rice sector,The bio gas unit ( This part got me o, Songhai has a zero waste policy, believe me when i say nothing is useless in Songhai, from the animal dung to the dead plant, they reuse everything in an amazing way)
I saw quail for the first time, we were showed the piggery, the sheep and goats pens, the stable, they even have crocodiles.....
My host (GeoMeridien)was amazing, they made it less stressful for us, while we were on a tour they did our registration for us, we had about 7 classes in 2 days (I learnt Poultry (broiler management, layers management, feed formulation, fishery, snailery , bio gas etc)
My jotter was full....It was a memorable 3 day tour...On the third day we went shopping at Songhai supermarket...lots of amazing things are produced in Songhai, My host helped me to change my naira to Cefa cos the calculation can scatter someone’s head. I bought lots of fresh things and seeds from the supermarket.

I didn’t want to leave on the third day but i had to...I would like to go back to learn more about food processing.

It was a good ride from Songhai back to Owode , My host order uber to take Myself and my colleagues back to Ikeja, I really enjoyed myself and so did they.

Seeing is believing, you should go see for yourself
