Due to the constant disappointment I have encountered with UTME admissions, I have been considering A levels lately. I know it is expensive but I just want to have an idea of how much the examination itself costs.

Definitely another Thread will be open towards next year admission you might even be the one to open it, "so don't expect this Thread to continue".

Stop blaming yourself, The Thread was open around mid -April and preparations towards post UTME started just immediately after the ban on post UTME was lifted(that's around August 22)
so don't blame yourself move on you've got better opportunities ahead.

Radiation... It can't be conduction since it's not in contact with another conductor of heat and it's not convection either since there's no fluid involved.

From what I've noticed,the differences in the answer you got and the answer they chose is caused by the difference in the value of 'g'.
In most of the practice questions, the solutions are carried out with the value of g being 9.8, unless it is stated otherwise to take g as 10.

Try solving this question again using 9.8, you'd have 29.15... that's what I've observed.
