If poly Ibadan is better than Ede Poly both in NBTE Ranking as i have confirmed, why didn't he remain there and enroll for his HND programme, why going to a school with low ranking in NBTE..Is someone thinking in my direction?

So the fact that somebody decided to do HND in another school means is former school is substandard,people have alot personal reasons to do so in terms of present conditions. so don't think in that direction at all

If things like this is happening in our institutions, I wonder what will be happening in the labour market.

May be that just started...I know of someone who was admitted in 2015/2016 session..she aslo did her OND in ibadan polytechnic.She is doing her NYSC now in Kogi state.

The dean said it has been happening for the past 15years,maybe that person had a strong political backup then

Hello poster, I am privileged to be a staff of the polytechnic mentioned above. Thou I am not qualified to respond to the above on behalf of the institution however I will help clarify some of the claims .
1. HND form is 10500 excluding 1k bank charges.
2. How sure are you that your said brother scored above the departmental cut off mark.
3. Its an internal policy of the polytechnic not to accept students from the listed polytechnics due to their history of violence and cultism related activities.

Quoting the Dean who may have given you such information in confidence may not be good enough.

. He scored more than the merit requirement,the most painful part of it was that the Dean even told him that even if had scored 100% they will not admit him. The fact that an institution have an history of cultism and violence does not mean that all the students are cultist or violent,students should be given benefit of doubt as long as he meet the school requirements or better still they should make official by putting on their website that they don't want certain schools candidates for their program instead of the scam to extort innocent Nigerians.

I am a proud product of The Federal Polytechnic Ede, Osun State...
You see does polytechnics you listed up there are sub standard institutions........We at Ede see them as glorified senior secondary schools.
Am sorry for you brother's case o, but let him just go to the poly Ibadan for his HND

because u r product of the school doesn't mean u should support such atrocities,

I can't just comprehend their reasons for this kind of attitude toward other schools. what a waste of time and money

It should have been pasted on their website so that the prospective applicants will have know beforehand and choose another school instead of wasting their time and money

the money was not refunded and most other schools form has closed for this year academic session

Please I need my people opinion on this topic to create more awareness, at least to prevent other falling victim

This information was brought to my notice as one of my brother who is seeking admission into the HND program 2018/2019 of FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC EDE.

He started the admission processes by doing the online payment of 15k, he sat for the written entrance exam and his exam result was even greater than the department merit requirement.

The admission list for both merit and supplementary candidate was pasted and his name was not among,he summon the courage to go and meet the Dean of student affairs of the school and was told today by the school Dean of student affairs that the school does not admit students fromm the following schools:

Polytechnic of Ibadan,
IREE poly,
Kwara poly,
Lagos state poly and
ESA Oke polytechnic for the past 15 years

...and my brother did his OND program in polytechnic of Ibadan.

My questions now is why don't they make it official as part of their conditions before prospective students apply for their school form,why the underground discrimination, does our concern educational sectors knows about this and lastly why is it that such atrocities given low awareness. This is not fair on us.
