Good day everyone, I need some clarification please from those who understand Canada PR pathways. I graduated around 2024 and completed my NYSC from January 2025 to January 2026 (as stated on my certificate). During my NYSC, I worked as a teacher. I was not paid by the school, but I received the monthly allowance from the Federal Government. I have applied to schools in Canada. One placed me on a waitlist, while the other (Sheridan College – Supply Chain Management, Logistics Automation) has offered me admission. If everything goes well with my visa, I should be in Canada by around August 2026. My concern is this: From the time I graduated up till when I move to Canada, the only work experience I have is my NYSC. I plan to write CELPIP and also take a French test by January 2027 to improve my profile for Express Entry. Please, I want to ask: 1. Can NYSC experience (as a teacher) be counted as valid work experience for Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) under Express Entry? 2. Does it matter that I was not paid directly by the school, but only received the Federal Government allowance? 3. Will this type of experience be accepted by IRCC? I would really appreciate guidance from those who have gone through this or have accurate information. |
