Basic Function of the Position
As Secretary, the incumbent will also serve as the Administrative Assistant in the Health, Population, and Nutrition (HPN) Office. S/he provides a wide range of administrative assistance, secretarial, and other support services to the entire HPN Office of 24 staff and USAID/Washington staff who work in Nigeria on short term technical visits.

Minimum of (2) two years progressively responsible experience in office management or assistance, which includes information collection and analysis, or related work experience with an international donor organization, private or Nigeria Government entity is required.
A good understanding of record management, administrative and financial procedures and internal controls relevant to the position is required.
Level IV (fluency) Speaking/Reading/Writing in English Language is required.
Thorough knowledge of planning, coordination and execution of business and administrative functions; strong customer service, organizational, time management, and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft office is required.

Young Package is a competition in packaging design. It is meant for young designers of up to 30 years of age. Since its foundation in 1996, the Young Package competition has achieved an international reputation and a distinctive position among competitions for young designers. Every year, several hundred participants from the whole world send their entries.


For twenty years the Young Package competition has been giving hundreds of students from all over the world an annual opportunity to present their original ideas. Manyrespected designers took part in this competition in the early careers: Jan Čtvrtník was the first winner ever and few years later he worked for NASA, IKEA and Elektrolux. In subsequent years winners included: Ladislav Škoda, chief designer of Tescoma, Jaroslav Juřica, author of the award-winning 002 chairs for TON company and well-known young designer Karel Vránek.

The competition is aimed at young designers up to 30 years of age. It is divided into two groups: the first is for university students and young designers up to 30 years of age; the other one is for high-school students. The winner of the first group will receive 1100 €. One of the winners will be also chosen for three-week remunerated internship at the Innovative Centre of the Model Obaly company. Others winners will also be rewarded financially and by other prizes donated by the competition partners. This year a special prize from the Model Obaly innovation centre will also be awarded.

Description
With a distinctly global perspective and a reputation for insightful analysis, The Economist is one of the most widely read current affairs publications in the world. From politics to business to science and technology, the paper has become the go-to source for those seeking to learn more about the world around them. Today, The Economist is looking to bring that content to life through a variety of short videos geared towards teenagers.

We are looking for filmmakers who can tackle the complex subjects and issues covered within the publication in a way that appeals to 14 to 17-year-olds. Filmmakers can use animation, live feeds, graphics, documentary style and more to create content that would engage a high-school student.

Videos should be 3 to 5-minutes long and must focus on a subject covered by The Economist in one of the following areas: politics, finance, international relations or technology. Entries must be in English or have English sub-titles, and no Economist branding should be contained within the submission.

The contest runs from January 16th through March 15th and is open to filmmakers around the globe and across genres.

The United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), in collaboration with ELS Educational Services, Inc., (ELS) organizes the “Many Languages, One World” Essay Contest, which will decide the winning delegates to be invited to a Global Youth Forum and preparatory conference to be held in New York in July of 2015.

The essay should relate to the post-2015 global development agenda, in the context of the 70th anniversary of the United Nations, and the definition of new goals reflecting the imperative of global sustainable development that recognises, and is enriched by, cultural and linguistic diversity. Entries of up to 2000 words in length must be in an official language of the United Nations that is not the entrant’s first language or language of instruction in his or her primary or secondary education. The official languages of the United Nations are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.

Eligibility
The contest is open to full-time college or university students, 18 years of age or older by March 25, 2015. A University Faculty Member or Authorized Representative must sponsor your participation in the contest and must attest that you are a full time student in good standing and that you are submitting an essay in an official language of the United Nations that is not your first language or principal language of instruction in your primary or secondary education.



Prize

ELS will pay for the Winners’ roundtrip economy class airfares in carriers of its choosing between the commercial airport nearest the Winner’s home city and New York, and be responsible for their travel, room and meals for the duration of the conference.

In the framework of the European Development Days 2015, the European Commission has launched the Future Leaders Programme. Young leaders playing an active role in the fight against poverty or involved in innovative projects to address global challenges in their community are invited to apply for the Programme and get the chance to win an invitation to the 2015 edition of European Development Days, taking place in Brussels, Belgium on 3-4 June.


Eligibility
Applications are open to young adults aged 21-26 from all around the world, without restriction of nationality. Applications must be submitted in one of the following official European Commission languages: English / French / Spanish / German / Portuguese. The candidate must be able to speak clearly and comprehensively in one of these languages. Passive translation will be provided if necessary during EDD15 for those languages.

Under the theme of Digital Africa: ICTs enriching communities , the eLearning Africa "Through your Lens" Photo Competition is back this year for its sixth edition.
How has the connection between you, your friends and families changed due to technology?

How has ICT changed your daily life and the ways in which you participate in your community? Submit your photo, along with a brief description, and show us how communication tools and information technologies are revolutionising how you learn, work and share information, ideas and projects.

Whether you are a photography student or an ICT enthusiast, amateur or professional, all contributors are welcome.

Photos can be submitted via the eLearning Africa "Through your Lens" Facebook application from now until May 1st 2015. Three winners will be picked by the public vote and one by an expert panel of judges. Prizes include a tablet PC, a smartphone and a digital camera. The GIST Tech-I Competition is an annual competition for science and technology entrepreneurs from emerging economies worldwide. Aspiring innovators submit their ideas and startups online in an application consisting of an executive summary and promotional video. Their applications are then reviewed by experts and voted on by the global voting public in order to determine the finalists. Thirty finalists receive an all-expense paid trip to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES), this year in sub-Saharan Africa, to showcase their ventures and to receive intensive training. Tech-I winners, selected by experts at the GES, win mini-grants, and receive one-on-one mentorship and training.

Since 2011, innovators from over 86 countries have showcased their science and technology ventures to the world through GIST Tech-I Competitions.

How to Apply

Are you interested in applying to compete in the GIST Tech-I 2015 competition? The process is simple and this page will help guide you through.

Before you apply, you should first confirm that you are eligible to compete. The basic eligibility requirements are that:

You must be a citizen of a GIST eligible country; and
You must be between the ages of 18-40 years old on March 20, 2015.

Once you have established that you are eligible to apply, you will next need to get together a few promotional materials for your application including:

An Executive Summary The Executive Summary narrative must be completed online in the application tool, must not exceed 750 words, and must be written in English. It should include the information outlined in the Program Announcement which includes significance of idea, scientific and technical merit, and commercial potential.

A 90 Second Promotional Video Each application must include a 90 second promotional video, which should highlight the value and purpose of the product or service to customers. The video must be presented by the applicant in English or include English subtitles. The video should focus on the concept, product, or service being promoted and its potential market value. This is your opportunity to really sell your idea so your video should be both engaging and creative. Videos from last year's startup and idea stage winners are also available to use as examples.

During the application, you will be asked several questions including whether you are submitting an Idea or Startup science and technology product, research, or service. The following criteria should be applied to help you to decide which category you fit in:

Idea Stage Application
The entrepreneur has research or a technology with commercialization potential and is willing to start a business.
The entrepreneur has started thinking about the qualifications of the management team necessary to execute the idea.
The entrepreneur has started to identify advisors.
The entrepreneur has started market research.
Startup Stage Application
Venture is for-profit and less than three years old from date of launching startup.
Product or service is currently in a testing or pilot stage and not yet available for commercial release.
Venture is either self-funded (revenue) or has external financing (either from public or private sources).

Eligibility
