I’m seeking mature advice on an issue I’m trying to help someone resolve, both from a health and relationship perspective.
A couple I know are dealing with a sensitive situation. One partner consistently passes very foul-smelling gas (often like rotten eggs). This has been ongoing, not occasional. From what I understand, it may be related to digestion or gut health rather than hygiene.
The other partner has raised the issue several times and has asked that it be “managed,” but over time this has started to affect:
Emotional closeness
Comfort in the home
Communication between them
The person experiencing the issue feels embarrassed and pressured, while the other feels uncomfortable and frustrated. Unfortunately, it’s beginning to create tension, even though both still care about each other.
