Nairaland GeneralOsibanjo To Inaugurate World Biggest Fertilizer Plant In The Niger Delta Today. by Morkablog(op): 1:48pm On Jul 27, 2017
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo will visit Port Harcourt today to inaugurate the world’s biggest fertilizer plant built by Indorama Eleme Fertilizer and Chemicals Limited.

Mr Laolu Akande, the Senior Special Assistant to the Acting President on Media and Publicity, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to the presidential aide, the plant with production capacity of 1.5 million metric tons of Urea fertilizer is considered the world’s largest single-train Urea plant.

Eleme Petrochemicals Company Ltd, now Indorama Eleme Fertilizer and Chemicals Limited, was privatised in 2006 after the sale of Federal Government’s 75 per cent shares to a core investor through competitive bidding process.

The plant has a production capacity of 4,000 metric tons of nitrogenous fertilizer per day. It was built with $1.5 billion dollars.

The opening of the plant is expected to boost the agriculture sector not just in Nigeria, but also in Africa and beyond.

Akande said fertilizer from the plant would be made available to farmers nationwide at affordable cost.

This will boost crop yield for farmers and help in minimizing food grain deficit in Nigeria, Akande said.

The plant consists of 2300 TPD Ammonia plant, 4000 TPF Urea plant, 83 km long Gas Pipeline, and an Export Port Terminal.

The main plant, measuring approximately 40 hectares, is located within the perimeter of Indorama’s existing petrochemical site in Port Harcourt.

The Gas Pipeline for the fertilizer plant was constructed by IEFCL within an existing 15 meter wide Right of Way (“ROW”).

Part of the $1.5billion was used to build a new jetty  at Onne Port on a plot of land measuring approximate 6 hectares

The jetty comprises 320 m long Quay along with terminal infrastructure including all material handling facilities necessary for urea and a urea storage facility with a capacity of 45,000 MT.

The transfer of urea from the fertilizer plant will be by road via an existing road network.

Construction of the new fertilizer plant commenced in early 2013 but the commissioning is coming two years later than planned.

Christianity EtcWhy Apostle Johnson Suleiman Is Wrong To File A Case Against Otobo by Morkablog(op): 10:59am On Apr 01, 2017
Many of us are aware of the ongoing drama between the founder of Omega Fire Ministries Apostle Johnson Suleiman and the Comedian based singer and alleged mistress Ms Otobo Stephenie. The Canadian based singer had accused Apostle Johnson Suleiman of sleeping with her, impregnating her and dumping her after promising her marriage.
The drama took another twist last week Sunday when the mother of the Ms Otobo Stephenie appeared in Omega Fire Ministries Auchi, to apologise on behalf of her daughter to the accused pastor labelling the daughter as abnormal and revealing that she has not seen her daughter in 3 years. The Pastor quickly forgave her and the daughter and prayed for her although Otobo responded on social media by saying Apostle Johnson had sent her mum death threats which made the mother appear before him to apologise. Ms Otobo went further to say that God will surely expose him(Johnson Suleiman).
Now my question is why has the accused Apostle decided to sue the alleged mistress Otobo Stephenie and Sahara Reporters, the media outlet that broke the news for defaming his character and image at the Ikeja high court , Lagos State. Suleiman filed a N1 billion suit on Stephenie Otobo according to reports by preniumtimes. In the suit, Apostle Johnson Suleiman is also asking N1 billion from Sahara Reporters for damages done to his reputions and has hired four layers, Chief Efe Akpofure(SAN), Erhabor O.I, Victor Idiapho and Emmanuel Usoh to represent him.
Sometimes as a christian you are forced to wonder if these so called pastors are actually Men of God or just mere Men of this World. If he does sue them to court, then tell me whats he's teaching other Christians to do in similar situations. What then is the difference between him and the publicans(sinners). A publican in such situation will do exactly just that, now where is the Christlike character that differenciates us from the people of the world? Well, don;t be surprised, i'll be going a little bit spiritual. I'll have to point out some Bible references, and if you're a Muslim reading this, just enjoy it while you do.
I am not just referring to this Otobo case alone, but over the past couple of months, Apostle Johnson Suleiman has given us reasons to doubt his genuineness as a man of God( am not saying he's a man of God, or that he's not a man of God. That's for God to judge and if you're a Muslim, that's for Allah to judge. If you are a Christian or a Bible Scholar, then you're no stranger to the fruits of the Holy Spirits. The fruits of the Holy Spirits includes MEEKNESS, temperance, longsuffering, LOVE, I repeat LOVE, PEACE and yes GENTLENESS etc. Filing a N1 billion suit case against a person you claimed to have forgiven on Sunday does not in anyway vandicate your stance on the matter. One is left to wonder how much he would have filed against her if he never forgave her at all. Just like Mahatma Gandhi said, "I like your Christ, but I don't like your Christians." Is this the character a real Christian should put on? Where is the Christlike character that propels us to forgive 70 times 7. The truth is forgiveness is not negotiable as a Christian, no matter how many times we are offended. Its boldly written, when you don't forgive, your Father in heaven won't forgive you.
Some comments by this Johnson Suleiman has completely gone against what is expected from a Christian. Remember when he reportedly said his Church members should kill any Fulani Herdsmen or better still protect them selves? Well, its not a sin to protect yourself, but he's too controversial to be called even a Christian. He's always in the spot light and its always for the wrong reasons. I laughed when he said "the Bible told us to pray for our enemies, but it didn't tell us how, so i'll pray for them to die." Limited Bible knowledge I call that.
Its no longer a newbie that most Nigerian pastors have turned in business men, worth millions of dollars all in the name of founding a church. May I remind you that Paul the Apostle was a lawyer, he had a degree in law, a tent builder and did many other nice jobs that could make him rich but he choosed to remain simple and even lived in rent every where he went. Mathew was a tax collector, you might tax collector so whats the big deal. A tax collector then is a person that works for the Board of Internal Revenue today, you know what that means. Now he was not just a tax collector but he was a Jew working for the Roman Government. Now relating it to this present day, its like a Nigerian working in the Board of Internal Revenue of the United States of America because the Roman Government at that time where world powers just like the US today. But he still kept it simple, not showing off horses in forms of cars or Chariots in form of Private Jets.
He even went further to hire four lawyers to defend him. What happened to the part the scripture that says "vengeance is for God?" On Sunday he'll have the boldness to mount on the pulpit and declare to his followers that forgiveness is a virtue right? I clearly remembered in the Bible where Apostle Paul instructed the Conrinthians never to take anybody to court citing reasons that "you go to court for an unbeliever to judge you." I rest my case, if any most of these so called pastors display just 1% of Christlike character, Nigeria will be a much better place to live in.

Jokes Etc#5kbae #keepthechangebae - The Full Story by Morkablog(op): 6:38pm On Mar 31, 2017
The hashtag #5kbae, #keepthechangebae was a fascinating story that trended on twitter on 29th of March 2017. It happened when a guy named Pablo Ayodeji went out on a date with a girl and actually spent N3800. He then kind of asked the girl out(normal now) but the girl declined his request. In a range, the guy destroyed the girl on twitter calling her "a hungry ass son of a Dam". This spurred a reaction from the girl and trust me, it was an epic one. The girl immediately transferred N5,000 (that's the #5kbae). So when you do a simple Mathematics, you'll see that there's a deficit of N1,200. The girl asked the guy to keep the change and use it for public transport( that was how the #keepthechangebae came up). Savage huh?☺☺☺...lolz
Photo of the #5kbae transaction
That savagery act by the girl has actually made her popular in Nigeria with note-able Nigerian banks like Wema bank, first Bank recognising her epic response. In fact, First Bank of Nigeria transferred N5000 into her account terming her "an empowered woman". First Bank went further to pronounce her as a FirstGem. The funniest part now is that it's almost like an endorsement deal, elevated the girl and so many business organisations in Nigeria are using that slogan as a marketing slogan.
The guy expectedly went down in shame and temporarily put his twitter account in private mood before it came back live and then apologised. However, apologies did not go down well either as many Nigerian tribes rejected his apology citing reason that he lacks brains. See some reactions below...
#5kbae reactions
The famous and epic/savagery response from the girl didn't only make the girl famous, but trust Nigerians, they'll surely mock Ibadan, where the boy hails from. Ibadan is a city in south west Nigeria.
Please guys, if you take a girl out on a date, that dosent mean automatic relationship. I pity the guy, i didnt go down well for him. Please please and please, not every girl you see or date is after your money. #5kbae and #keepthechangebae will surely live long in the history of twitter Nigeria.

PoliticsIfeanyi Ubah Denies DSS Arrest by Morkablog(op): 2:54pm On Mar 30, 2017
Oil magnate, Dr Ifeanyi Uba has debunked speculations that he was arrested by operatives of Department of State Services (DSS).

Ubah who spoke to The Guardian Thursday on the telephone said the rumours were a propaganda against him.

“If I am arrested, I would not be talking with you now They should continue writing, but those who are in doubt should come and watch football match tomorrow because I would be there,” said the founder of Ifeanyi Ubah Football club.

A few online platforms (not The Guardian) had reported that the founder of Capital Oil was arrested and detained by Nigeria’s Department of State Services (DSS).
But an aide of the business who would not like his name in print said all attempt to smear the good name his boss has earned would be in futility.

“I can tell you that my boss’s good name in the country today cannot be smeared. He is a hardworking businessman. All these propaganda about him is because he has become a big force to be reckoned with in Nigeria.”

CrimeAnini The Law- Full Story Of The Notorious Thief by Morkablog(op): 6:18am On Mar 30, 2017
Lawrence Anini popularly known as Anini the Law was a notorious criminal who terrorised the southern part of Nigeria in the 1980's along side his gang. He was born in 1960 in present day Edo state in a village not far away from Benin city. He first started out as a taxi driver when he first moved to Benin. His driving skills led him to become the driver of various robbery gangs, thieves and criminal god fathers. Anini eventually decided to form his won gang which included Monday Osunbor, Friday Ofege, Eweka, Henry Ekponwan and Alhaji zed zed popularly known as Zegezege, though he was never captured.
Anini and his new gang first started out with hijacking of cars and robbing banks. Gradually, he extended his criminal acts to other towns and cities close to Benin. Anini's gang was believed to have maintained a healthy relationship with some top police officers during the 80's but the relationship became sour when two members of his gang were tried and prosecuted, against an earlier agreement with the police to destroy evidence against both gang members. This was perceived by Anini and his gang members as betrayal and is widely believed to have spurred retaliation from them.
In August 1986, a bank robbery was carried out killing one police man. Anini's group also said there were responsible for those criminal actions. He also killed two officers in the same August who were trying to stop his car and before the end of November, Anini had taken the life of 9 police men. In August 1986, Anini and his fellow gang members stormed a town called Sabogida Ora in present day Edo state and stole N2,000 killing more than 20 people. In September of that same year, he masterminded the hijacking off two different Peugeot 504 car,the first from Albert Otoe, the driver of the then Inspector General of Police. In snatching the car, the driver was killed and then hid his corpse somewhere but his body was later found along Benin-Agbor Express way. A day after that attack, he also hijacked another Peugeot 504 car close to former FEDECO office in Benin.
Anini continued his bloody attacks on the police on the 8th of September as he gunned down two police men in Orhiowon Local Government Area in present day Edo state. For the month of September, Anini had carried out three different robbery attacks killing Frank Unoami, a former employee of the Nigerian observer news papers, Mrs Remi Sobanjo, a chartered accountant and the stealing of a Mercedes Benz car belonging to the Ughelli Monarch in Benin. He also attacked a gas station where he made away with the day's sales and killed the stations attendant.
The height of Anini's exploits, however, took place on Nigeria's independence day celebration on 1st of October 1986, when they attacked the convoy of the then Commissioner for Police, Casmir Igbokwe. The police officer survived and managed to escape with severe injuries . On that same day, Anini's gang had gunned down a police man within the city. He was almost caught by the police in October 1986 when an operation that went bad forced him to drive in reverse from Agbor to Benin City. On 21st of October 1986, Anini and his group murdered a Benin based Medical Doctor , A.O Emojere along textile mill road in Benin. They also carried out robbery attacks on several banks including the Agbor brancch of African Continental Bank and carted away with a huge sum of N46,000. Anini the law, turned a giver by spraying Naira notes on the streets for market women and men to pick at a village near Benin. He was also reported to have written several letters to media houses describing his criminal acts.
Anini's three month reign of terror between August 1986 and November 1986 triggered action from the then President of Nigeria, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babagida. The then President ordered a massive manhunt for Anini and his fellow robbers. The then Nigerian Government doubled the number of police men in the defunct Bendel State, deploying hundreds of armed personnel in an effort to quickly capture him.
However, the police manhunt failed to stop their actions. Anini and his gang intensified their criminal actions and for a while it looked like they will never be caught. At the conclusion of a meeting of the Armed Forces Ruling Council, the President asked the then Inspector General of Police Etim Iyang ''my friend, where is Anini?"
Finally, the then Superintendent of Police, Kayode Uareroro spearheaded the end of Anini's reign of terror. He was caught on 3rd December 1986 at Oyemwaso street opposite Iguodala Primary school in Benin city with six women. With aid from the locals, the police man(superintendent of police) went straight into the house and met him with very little resistance. Initially, the police were unsure if he was really Anini or not. Anini tried to take advantage of their ignorance by lying to the police and escaping. He shoved and headbutted the police officer in an attempt to escape but it was an exercise in futility. The police officer quickly reached for his gin and shut him on his right ankle. They put him in a sitting position pumping more bullets into his leg. In serious pain now, he admitted that he was Anini and was then taken to the police command head quarters where the state commissioner for police Bendel State, Parry Oseyande was waiting.
While in Police custody, he communicated most in Pidgin English and made a lot of revelations about him and his gang including the names of his other members and some key police officers who was collaborating with the notorious gang. He particularly revealed that Iyamu, the most senior police officer collaborating with the robbers would reveal police secrets to them and also deliver arms to carry out robbery operations. He further revealed that Iyamu also benefited from the loots. Anini was then shot in the leg, transferred to a military hospital and had one of his legs amputated. His assistant Monday Osunbor, was also captured. His hideouts was eventually searched, as police recovered assorted charms including one he usually wears around his waist during operations.
Iyamu expectedly refuted claims that he collaborated with the deadly gang but was rather convicted in the High Court of Justice, off Sapele road in Benin City and was sentenced to death along side four other accused police officers by Justice Omo-Agege.
They were executed on March 29th, 1987 and just before that, Justice Omo Agege remarked ''Anini will forever be remembered in the history of crime in this country, but it will not be of blessed memory. Few people if ever, would give the name to their children.''

HealthOntlametse Phalatse- Meet The Girl With A Rare Ageing Disease by Morkablog(op): 8:12am On Mar 28, 2017
Onatlametse Phalatse was born on 25th of March 1999. She is the first black child to be diagnosed with Progeria, a rare and fatal genetic condition that causes a child to age rapidly. Phalatse’s mother says her baby was born looking normal but that she realised early on that something was wrong. Phalatse suffered constant skin rashes and her mother even thought she had a skin disease when she was three years old.
Phalatse’s father left her and the mother when she was three years old shortly after she was diagnosed with the deadly disorder. Although she’s a very bright student , Phalatse hope to one day become a Psychologist so she can help other people with their problems.
The disease is very rare and as of today, only 140 children has been diagnosed with the disease which causes children to age much more faster than their real age and the life expectancy for such children is only 13years. Doctors told her she won’t live more than her 14th birthday, but now it’s safe to say it’s just a miracle that she’s still alive as she celebrated her 18th birthday this year.
Though children with this rare but deadly disease are not expected to live past the age of 21 (as no child has ever managed that feat) but she has a dream of becoming a psychologists just to help other people with their problems. One of her dream was fulfilled in March 2017 just before her 18th birthday. To see the president of South Africa before she turns 18.
‘’I call myself a first lady because am the first black child with this disease”
Each school holiday, Phalatse and her mother fly to the United States of America, where she participates in research funded by the Progeria Research Foundation at Children’s Hospital, Boston.
It gives her access to cutting edge drug that are not yet commercially available. Back home, they suggest to feed her the required healthy diet. Phalatse’s mothers is unemployed and the two survives on her daughters government disability allowance.
Disease Symptoms
Children with Progeria usually develop first symptoms in their first 3 months of life. As the child ages, additional symptoms includes loss of heir, wrinkled skin, kidney failure. People diagnosed with this disease at a point usually have a small and fragile body like old people. The face is also wrinkled, very big head in relation to the size of the body a narrow face and a beak body.
Disease History
The name of the disease progeria comes from the greek word ``pro’’ which means premature or before and ``geras” meaning old age. The disease was first mentioned in 1886 by Jonathan Hutchison. It was also described in 1987 by Hastings Gilford. It was later named Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome.
Scientist are however interested in progeria as it might reveal clues to the normal process of ageing.

EducationNervous Coordination- How The Body Works by Morkablog(op): 9:52am On Mar 25, 2017
Normally as a human, one would want to know how certain activities in the body are done and the body organ or system responsible for those actions. I've put this article together to help us with that problem, and as you'd expect, we'll be using the mammalian system as an example. The mammalian nervous co-ordination is divided in two, namely the nervous system and the endocrine system. Messages or informations/ impulses in the endocrine system are passed as hormones in the blood stream while informations in the nervous system are passed as electrical impulses.
The nervous system is controlled by the brain and the spinal cord, while the endocrine system is controlled by the pituitary gland. However, the nervous system responds faster to situations as it takes few minutes to respond to stimuli and in some cases less than a second(reflex actions). But for the endocrine system, response is slow and lasts longer.
The Nervous system is divided in the Central Nervous System(CNS) and the Peripheral Nervous System(PNS).
Central Nervous System
The CNS consist of the brain and the spinal cord. The brain which is a major part of the CNS is divided into the fore brain, mid brain, and hind brain. The fore brain is subdivided into cerebrum consisting of two hemispheres(the right and the left hemispheres protected by corpus collosum and partially separated by the median fissure) and the olfactory lobes located auteriorly at the fore brain. The fore brain is responsible for involuntary actions like movement of the leg, speech etc. While the olfactory lobes is responsible for making the animal aware of the environment. The olfactory lobes is connected to a sense organ, the nose.....Read full article

Nairaland GeneralSenate Urges Federal Government To Rename Benin Airport by Morkablog(op): 7:12am On Mar 01, 2017
—THE Senate, yesterday, asked the Federal Government to immortalize the late Oba of Benin, Oba Erediauwa, by renaming the Benin Airport, Oba Erediauwa Airport.
The Senate also urged the Federal Government to “prevail on the relevant Ministry, Department or Agency vested with the duty of effecting the resolution of this motion to so do.”
The resolutions of the upper Chamber, yesterday, were sequel to a motion by Senator Matthew Urhoghide (PDP, Edo South), entitled “Befittingly renaming the Federal Airport, Benin City, after the late Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Erediauwa, Oba of Benin Kingdom.”
In the motion, Senator Urhoghide’s two prayers were unanimously taken by the senators, just as he noted that the motion became imperative because of the late Oba Erediauwa’s selfless service to Bini Kingdom and Nigeria in general during his lifetime.
Urhoghide’s motion read: “Late Oba Erediauwa, as young Prince Solomon Akenzua, joined the Colonial Civil Service upon completion of a Law degree from Cambridge University. He worked extensively in the then Eastern Region as an Assistant District Officer serving as a judge in land cases as well as an administrator in the district which duties he discharged creditably. In 1965, he transferred to the Federal Civil Service, Lagos, and rose to the rank of Permanent Secretary, a position he also performed in meritoriously.
“In 1968, he became the substantive Federal Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Power and Steel which he helped immensely to stabilize for optimum performance. In his capacity as a federal officer, he worked closely and tirelessly with the former military heads of state, General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi and General Yakubu Gowon.”
