Baxilexi: This is so ignominious… why is the FG always putting the cart before the horse.
How many low income housing projects are currently ongoing in Nigeria? Why not build the houses and then offer a convenient mortgage. Let’s do the math, a 200k salary earner/ family man, wants a modest apartment in a decent environment in Abuja. The apartment costs 30m spread over 20 years with an interest of about 3m bringing the loan to 33m
He’s down payment might be 20% of the cost of the house = 6m He’s monthly payback is 68,750, (bal; 131,250) how is he to survive? I understand you. But income isn't static. He won't keep earning the same ₦200K for the next 20 years.. |

flexyrule: Fews weeks ago, I engaged a Marina bank staff about their car loan facility
Is Credit Direct a Bank?? I'd like to wade in here. Officially, the MPR is still pegged 27.5%. We hope it remains so (or drops down to the 25% or 22.5% it was sometimes ago). However, for personal loans, no bank lends at MPR rate. Even corporate loans are priced a little above the MPR, except in exceptional instances where the bank is getting other value from the customer besides the loan interest itself such as referrals, a FX deposit or huge monthly turnovers. The truth is the best you can get from commercial banks now as per personal/consumer loan is 35%. Then add 1% Management Fee, 1% Advisory Fee and 1% Insurance Fee, all upfront. This brings the total percentage to 38%. There's another catch, if you're applying for their loans via their app, monthly rates quoted are between 3.5 - 4.2%. It's sad. That above is the best you can get in any commercial bank. If you have proof of something lesser, kindly let me know. |

Myrepublic: And you expect the wife to say what really happened? She will paint it in a way to make you feel sorry for her,and you will definitely do that, because that's what the society encourages. Married folks knows what this man is talking about.. some people thinks getting married is free ticket to sex. Sex when u go dey beg like small pikin.. and when u go out to get your urge satisfied, she will still call you a womanizer. Meanwhile she will be flirting with colleagues and exes . Honestly.. You just summarized married life as concise as you could be. |
