Dear VO

Please I wish to apply for an F1 visa using my cousin as the sponsor. The funds are adequate, about twice the amount needed, cousin lives in Nigeria, but we don't share the same surname. All other requirments are satisfactory. Cousin is also a highly placed politician and is using the official letterhead for the sponsorship letter.
Please will using my cousin as a sponsor affect my eligibility status??
