Correct the ppp link error by changing your modem field in your phone. That is the access point name-apn to wap.ng.celtel.com To do that, go to settings-configuration/connectivity-gprs-modem settings-then access point name. You can also correct that on DNS from your pc. Right click on your dial-up connection-networking-tcp/ip and click properties. From there, you can mark or unmark the ppp link. But try that of phone modem settings first. Please I need someone to look into my question too. Thanks |
Hi guys can someone gist me on what's happening, I have configured my pc to with Celtel line. The connection is fine and ok. But the problem is that a page won't just open and it always says server not found or dns error. I tried it with mtn and it browse. Any germane hints will be appreciated. Thanks |
I'm very sure of what i'm saying. It is not even that time only, but any point in time, you could get login if you are lucky. I haven't seen an error, Last year I was disconnected on Oct 14, and got reconnected January 26, this year. That disconnection of last year was because of upgrading and I heard that some users were still able to browse then. Since January reconnection, I haven't got any errors, For example now, this that I posted today, I posted it without being charged for browsing. I have been trying to login around 7pm and eventually, I was logged on around 7:27pm. Try it if you really need it. |
I don't think there is any apn that allow free access, But one thing, Anything past 7pm, try loggin in. It may not logon immediately, but keep trying. Once You're logged in, don't logout, because if you do so, you might not be able to login again. Only try that if your account balance is below N50 so that you won't be charged. |
Thanks man, I have done that and even requested for application that works with Gprs but I didn't receive any settings, It seems my line can't receive any settings related to wap and Gprs from them, What I always got is: the settings will be sent to your phone, But no settings sent, |
I received it. Thanks |

Well, kudos to Celtel also, |
Friend, if your phone can't receive the settings, then insert your sim card into a phone that you think could receive the settings automatically in order to get your line activated for Gprs. After that you can then copy the settings into your phone, samsung D500. |
Hi@gbade.x, I suggest you try using another sim card because such happens to a friend of mine, and he's still experiencing that now. |
Hi Guys, I can see how all have been striving to get his/ her line activated/reactivated for Celtel Gprs Service. Well, this is how to- send the usual code format, wapgprs phonemake phonemodel, e.g wapgprs siemens sxg75 to +232 N15 will be charged for the message sent to the destination number, +232. Wait for the settings to be sent to your phone. Save the settings on receiving. After successful saving, eureka! Your line is successfully connected to the world of mobile internet. Good luck |
