I am applying from Abuja. A family of 4 with 2 being repeat applicants, including the lead applicant and 2 being fresh applicants.

Since November 2025 TLS Contact Abuja stopped accepting applications. There was a banner on their site (see attached) even though it’s no longer showing there right now. I myself also live in Abuja but I had to go to Lagos to do my application.

Perhaps they will recommence Abuja visit visas in February 2027 like you saw. For now the best bet is just to apply through the Lagos site. You can call TLS to confirm. You will need to start a fresh TLS and France-Visas application in that case.

I just checked right now and the earliest available slot I can see in Lagos for frequent Schengen traveller renewal is November 27th ie 6 weeks from now.

I’m guessing you’re a first time Schengen applicant or you’re applying on the Abuja site.

Wow so they’re truly giving out shorter visas. Another person also got a shorter visa on the previous page. So annoying.

They should have given you 1 year or the same 6 months.

However, I have seen cases where people with strong travel history, previous travel history to Schengen Zone have been denied.

They can be unpredictable. It seems probability of success with them is 50/50. Though in my case, aside length of time since my last travel to france, it didn't help that the last time I was there, I spent just a day.

You’ve said it all with that last sentence. They won’t give you a longer visa if you didn’t do the multiple entry you were given.

Hmmmn. My last schengen visa, issued in 2022, had a validity of 90 days.

Normally they’re supposed to increase your tenure with each successive application or worst case maintain it. After 90 days (3 months) should normally be 180 days visa (6 months). Then 1 year, 2 years and then 5 years.

Maybe they reduced it because you have a long gap (2022 ie 4 years) since your last Schengen application. Or maybe they’re being stricter with Nigerian applicants in general.

Anyway this is minor. The important thing is you have an active visa.

The passport has been received. I got the tourist visa. Validity- 45 days with multiple entry.

Please what was the tenure of your previous France tourist visa ? Was it 30 days ?

If you scroll back one or two pages you’ll see that I and another person had the exact same issue. TLS finally updated me via email to say that it has been deleted but I have already removed my mind from travelling for now so I didn’t bother trying a new application to see if the passport number would work. I will only start a new application when I’m 100% sure of my travel dates this time.

Keep emailing them. It took me 2 months before they responded. Hopefully it won’t be that long for you. Maybe the delay was because of summer peak period. We’re now approaching end of summer.

If you are really pressed there are two alternatives ;
1) Add “X” to your passport number and hope that they dont flag it on your appointment day. They must be aware of many users having this same deletion request issue. I saw many complaints on Reddit. So maybe they will allow appointments booked like this.
2) If your passport expires soon (a year or less), renew it now and use the new passport number to apply. My sister got her new passport in less than a week, it’s fairly quick.


Option 2 is safer than Option 1 for sure.

Please i am having issues with TLS in Lagos, i cancelled my appointment for tourist visa twice last month June due to some circumstances beyond my control. Now, i want to book for a new appointment with a new reference number but the system error is, my passport number and phone number is already used in another application. I have sent more than 3 emails to tls contact email address requesting for the deletion of my previous application on their system. Till now, no feed back from them. I called their call center and they always refer me to send email and yet they are not replying the emails.

Please what can i do to book a fresh appointment.

All tourism applications are processed via Lagos only since November 2025. It’s unfortunate that TLS refuses to make this clear on the site. Many people are still unaware.

I have been through this exact same thing since April. I was calling and calling, they kept saying “system is down” that should I should call back

Then early June they said I should use the Contact Form. One month later I am still waiting. It’s a mess. Just glad the trip is not urgent at all.

Hello everyone pls I need help on this
I selected Abuja on TLS by mistake, then switched to Lagos with a new France-Visas form. The old Abuja submission is stuck in my portal on “book an appointment” and I can’t delete it. My passport is tied to it, so I can’t register the new Lagos application at all (I get “maximum number of groups of applications reached”). Even a new TLS account won’t work.

I’ve submitted a removal request through the Contact Us form and called support. They said wait. Haven’t booked or paid anything.

Anyone been through this? How long did TLS take to remove a stuck submission, and is there any way to speed it up? Would really appreciate any advice.

Please who else is having a hard time to book an appointment for document submission at TLS. I have been trying to book an appointment throughout the month of May, but no slots have been made open, yet.

MY POV : Because of our various busy daily schedules, it will be nearly impossible for each applicant waiting for slots to open up to be on the sites 24hrs trying to catch when the French consular would make dates available - but if we can keep each other updated depending on our various free timelines to be on the site - it will be difficult to miss the window when booking slots will be made available.

Has anyone been able to get a response from TLS in the past one month using the Contact Us form ?

I have used it three times in the past one month, no response.

Has anyone successfully completed their appointment at TLS after booking the appointment with a slightly inaccurate passport number (eg using letter O instead of number 0)? Will they allow me correct it during my appointment ?

The TLS site does not allow me use my correct passport number because it is already tied to an old/existing unsubmitted application. The website won’t let me delete it myself. I have already called TLS multiple times in the past 2 weeks to delete it from their end and they keep saying that I should call back, that their system is down

No. You will create unnecessary doubt and confusion in the mind of the visa officer.

Just prepare your entire application based on visiting just one country which should be country you will be spending most of your time in. When you get the visa you can move as you like within Schengen territory.

If the information you want to change on the France-Visas form are travel details (dates, accommodation, etc.), TLS can change these details on the day of your appointment.

Thanks, I hear you, but I’d rather play very safe. I have already deleted the old France visas application and created a new one. The trip isn’t urgent at all. I’ll just follow the proper process.

Good thing that the site did not allow you. It should continue like that. Otherwise, that is how some people will commercialize the appointments and bastardize the process like they did to the US visa appointments. Using different applications to tie down appointment slots and then now changing the application tied to the appointment when there is a willing buyer.

My 2 cents: cancel the appointment, cancel the application and start afresh. TLS site is up as of today.

My mistake: their system/backend is down, not the front end website. I just called yet again and it’s still the same thing.

I have deleted the appointment but I need to wait for their system to get back up in order to delete the application and create a new one. TLS is an incompetent vendor and it’s a shame that France won’t change them. I remember having similar issues last year.

Yes you’re right, many Nigerians tend to abuse processes and it causes the remaining innocent ones to suffer. It’s such a shame.

Hello House. I have a confirmed TLS appointment for May but I need to change the France-Visas application that is linked to it. I tried to delete the TLS appointment and create a new one but the TLS site won’t let me. I called TLS yesterday and today. They keep saying the site is down, that I should check back tomorrow or I should call the embassy.

I can’t use the current France-visas that is tied to the appointment because travel plans have significantly changed (travel dates etc).

Just start a fresh application on the France Visas website and select Lagos as your submission point

Not true, submitted 2 old passports last year in Abuja with my current passport making 3 passports submitted

The lady at TLS told me I don’t need to but I insisted and she accepted them. I was successful. One year, frequent traveller.

As of last month TLS Abuja is no longer accepting appointments for Nigerians, all Nigerian applicants must apply through Lagos.

Yes you need to call them to cancel your Abuja application and then do a fresh application for Lagos. They stopped processing new appointments for Nigerians in Abuja on 17th November.

Submitted 23rd.Nothing yet. I'm equally worried, but I'm guessing the delay is due to the public holidays.

The delay is probably because of summer peak season. They do not observe Nigerian holidays, only French ones like Easter and Christmas. My issue date on my last visa 1st April 2025 which was Sallah.

Just have same patience. The good news is coming.

For frequent travellers, it’s best to submit your old passports together with your current passport so that the officer can see direct evidence of your past visas and trips. I think it helps you get a longer visa tenure. I asked the TLS officer if I could submit them and she said yes.

You should definitely take copies of all your past visas (including non-Schengen) and immigration stamps as a backup in case they don’t allow you submit the old passports. VFS UK doesn’t allow you submit old passport so you need photocopies for that.

Took just 5 working days, shortest it has ever taken for me. They told me at TLS it would take 1 month so when I got the text yesterday I thought maybe I made a silly mistake somewhere or forgot something and got quick rejection.


Got 1 year multiple entry. Frequent traveller.

There needs to be a gap of at least 4 weeks (preferably 6 weeks) between your biometrics appointment date and your date of travel. The official guidance on their website is 15 working days (3 weeks) however I was told at my appointment this week that it would take a month. My sister (frequent traveller) waited 4 weeks for her passport to come out in January. She got 3 years.

Anyone whose passport comes out in less than 3 weeks during this period (April to September ) should consider themselves lucky. There is definitely a surge because most Dubai vacation travellers are rerouting to Europe since the UAE restrictions.

France allows you to apply 6 months before your travel date. So don’t hesitate to just book your appointment as early as possible.
