The Tivs doing the jobs see it as their area of expertise and they take pride in doing it, you coming to defend what u don't know is funny.
The Idoma actually call the Tivs by a game, I can't actually write it in words, it literally translates to "heap maker", that's the name they have been calling them since the days of their forefathers, you can't defend what you don't even know, yet you say they are lying, so how did that particular name come about?
Are you more enlightened than the elders of idoma who told the story?
You lack basic knowledge, impersonating the Tivs won't enlighten you.

TribaIism is rife in Benue, that's why the Idomas pride themselves in using the Tivs for manual labor and they do say it that the Tivs have been doing their manual labor since the days of their fore fathers, I have gotten myself acquainted with Benue since 1999 and my first agricultural encounter was in Otukpo and Tivs made those heaps, u don't even know basics.

I don't know what you have in Tivland for you to think you can tell me anything there , I have Tiv blood running in my veins , my grandma named me AKahan after Joseph AKahan, he was the chief of staff to Gowon until he died in an Helicopter crash during the biafran war , when he visited his home town gboko and was returning to Benin , I grew up with my mothers people bearing my grandfather's surname I did change of name after I completed secondary school, I returned to my father's people in Enugu as an adult, I speak little igbo

It has always been known that the Tiv man always travel and return to his farm when the time is due, all what u listed are not new occurrences and the drop in farming in Benue State is not because of insecurity rather lack of capital as farming is becoming more expensive than it was in the 90's and 2000's.

You can't stay here and pretend that Benue is no longer farming when we all know that the SE and part of SS depends heavily on their products to get by.
Traders from different countries like Cameroon, Benin etc still come to buy stuffs from Benue even garri.

As long as benue especially Tivland is concerned you have nothing to tell me, and what ever roots you claim to have there, my roots there are deeper than yours and Everything I said is the situation of what it is

And it has never been in the culture of Tiv people to travel and return to their farms when the time is due like you said, cause they plant , then few weeks after planting they start weeding, no Tiv person will leave his farm without attending to it for 2 weeks , most farm yams , cassava, and groundnut at the same time so no time for breaks


And I repeat the farming culture amongst Tiv people is not as it used to be in the 90s or 2000s like I said young men now prefer to ride okada or travel out of benue to work for the money, all my Tiv cousins that we grew up together left the village for same reason, farming is expensive cause young men don't want to work, those who are willing to work charge alot of money if you want to hire them, back when we were growing up, we had what is called Himbe , Himbe was a practice were young men will come together to help each other work on each others farm for free, people gave out lands to their friends or relatives to cultivate for free , (today you must pay for it ) , so farming was less expensive with such practice

Zaki biam is not what it used to be, I'm not saying yams are not sold there, I'm saying not like before when 200 to 300 trailer load of yams left Zaki biam market on a daily basis ,
the late Terwase Akwaza aka GANA who terrorized 3 local government , Katsina ala , ukum and logo destroyed that market they killed alot of traders and traditional chiefs not just in ukum where that market is located but in logo and Katsina ala too , igbo trader who where the major traders in that market some were killed some were kidnapped for ransom most of them relocated to gboko after that, even though GANA was killed by the army his boys are still operating in those areas, alot of soldiers were deployed there those solder's starting shooting young men anyhow accusing them to be members of GANA group or informate , majority of the young men who were great farmers left ukum because of that


Besides that the culture of farming in benue state itself is not like it used to be in the 90s or early 2000s it has changed especially amongst the Tiv young men , most of them prefer to ride okada for a living these days, some of them prefer to travel out of benue to work on other peoples farms or Coco plantations in Yorubaland , Benin or taraba state they sign yearly contracts and are paid at the end of the year, some of them cross into Cameroon by foot from abande in kwande local government

I have no reason to hate benue people, I was born and raised in Tivland in the village , Tiv language is my first language, I speak Tiv more than igbo or English, my mom is Tiv
