Kukutente23:
Are you saying the song is not an original composition from Mike but was actually part of the original story?
You seem to have changed the story. Don't forget it's a competition among suitors. There's another one where the elephant was deceived by the tortoise that he was about to be made king in order to capture him for the village. That's the one I think you've mixed up with this one.
He composed a song from the story picking up chants word enyi na aga ayi so gi na Azu from the story, in this story the kings daughter who has rejected so many suitors told her father that anyone who wants to marry her must bring an elephant, the tortoise on the other hand went and lied to the elephant that the King choose him (elephant) to be the chairman of the next ofala festival

Kukutente23:
Is this not the song composed by Mike
From the very start I told you gentleman mike sample it from the story , ( enhi na aga ayi so gi na Azu) I don't really consider it a song but some sort of a chant of deceitful encouragement from not just the tortoise but those they met on their way to the kings palace, encouraging the elephant to walk to his doom

Enyi na aga ayi so gi na Azu, (elephant continue to move we are all behind you) gwo gwo gwo ngwo added to it is just a sound of how the elephant walked
Music/Radio › Re: The Story Of "Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo" By Mike Ejeagha by Mrfeel: 7:06pm On Aug 08, 2024
Kukutente23:
It's very obvious
The igbo version has no accompanying song which makes it incomplete
Enyi na aga ayi so gi na Azu , is the song that accompies the story, the song comes up the moment the tortoise climbs to ride the elephant to the kings palace , so what song are you talking about again?
Music/Radio › Re: The Story Of "Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo" By Mike Ejeagha by Mrfeel: 6:32pm On Aug 08, 2024
Kukutente23:
That's not possible
It's also not possible that our grandparents heard it from the yoruba's

Your grandparents must have heard it from the Yorubas
What if the yoruba's heard it from the igbos?

Why don't you start bedwetting again because you want to feel like a child again. Anyways, too much money can make you do stupid things sha. Best of luck.

#Money can't buy happiness, but I still want to have it. The reality!
You might probably be older than rema and you fail to understand his point of view, he is old enough to smoke he doesn't need any permission from anyone to smoke, read what he said again a second time to understand

I'm not disputing that
But this particular one is Yoruba
No, you can't say that, gentleman mike is far far older than that book you are talking about , are you telling me our grandparents who knew this folklore got it from that book?
Music/Radio › Re: The Story Of "Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo" By Mike Ejeagha by Mrfeel: 4:38pm On Aug 08, 2024
Kukutente23:
A folklore song usually accompanies the story and its drawn from the main theme of the story and is short, more like a chant
The production song on the other hand is a full song that tells a story in itself
Do all folklore have a song ? I'm half igbo half Tiv I know many folklore from both tribes without a song
Music/Radio › Re: The Story Of "Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo" By Mike Ejeagha by Mrfeel: 12:48pm On Aug 08, 2024
Kukutente23:
That's a song production not folklore song. Folklores usually have an accompanying song
Igbos have alot of these folklore if you read igbo history you will find similar folklore short stories moral lessons in the stories are the most important

Cause he the elephant was the wanted animal, for the king to want the elephant that much means the elephant was not that popular in the kingdom

No. Not this particular one
What song accompanies it in Igbo language?
Didn't you read the lyrics to the song , gentleman mike sample it

Tortoise
Nnam Eze akpatam enyi ( my king I have brought the elephant)

Elephant
Nwa mbe isi na ikpata onye ( small tortoise who did you say you brought?)

Tortoise
Asim Ana ya chebe enyi dube enyi odikam SI na akpatam enyi (I said let the earth protect and guide the elephant did I say I brought the elephant?)
Tortoise
Okwe enyi ga abu isi oche ( is it not the elephant that will be the chairman?)

Tortoise
Enyi na aga ayi so gi na Azu (elephant continue moving we are behind you)

Why does it need to be made public?
You lost a child and the first thing that came to your mind is announcing it on social media.

To the idiots running mouth in my mentions; if you've never lost someone dearly to you, you perhaps won't understand.
At that point, nothing interests you anymore, not even food which is a necessity let alone social media. How you are grieving and the major thing on your mind is how to post it on 2go and LinkedIn is what I don't know. You can as well monetize the death.

Bunch of attention seeking retards.
You are an idiot if you expect people to grieve the same way Same pattern, don't judge what you don't know

The story is taken from the Alawiye books which is a compendium of Yoruba folklore
These folktale was known and told by our grandmothers who also were told when they were little, they learned it from this story book you talk about?

This story is actually adapted from a Yoruba folklore
There's a song that accompanies it

Erin ka rele o wa j'oba
Erin kere Erin ke

This shows how cultures dilute and mingle with each other seamlessly regardless of human prejudices
Don't say it was adapted from Yoruba folklore, just say yoruba's have same folklore

OP. You are still on Akuko Mike Ejiagha because the king said it clearly that he wanted a MAN, not an animal, who can bring an elephant to marry his daughter. Tortoise is no human being.
The story is about animal kingdom, the king is not a man , it's a lion the king of animals

Igbos are not giving you yoruba's sleepless nights over Lagos but we keep hearing igbo must go , igbos are danger to Yoruba land, keep igbos out of Yoruba land, igbos want to take over Lagos etc ? How do you sleep at night with these thoughts? You even write books about it ?

The fact that these once homeless and destitute igbos destroyed by war are now given yoruba's who has never been affected by war sleepless nights over Lagos shows how hardworking the igbos are, a tribe blessed by God almighty

Good morning.
The rife between Yoruba and igbo as you put it ,if one looks at it closer it's not hate but rivalry right from the beginning of it , no matter what these two tribe secretly admire each other in one way or the other, at the same time they are both trying to dominate one another

For Peter Obi and his noise making followers, it is a case of throw-away face if it happens in Igboland. Let it occurs in the North or Southwest, Peter Obi will dance naked in the streets and cry more than the bereaved.

The painful part of the whole matter is that his people will still be denying the obvious fact. Many of them cannot travel to their home again, many are doing their traditional wedding either in SW Or The North but they will still come out to be chest beating and deceiving themselves.
South East is part of Nigeria under president tinubu, if he can't stop the insecurity going on in south east then he is failing as the president of Nigeria, peter obi is not the president of Nigeria, he is not the president of south east region

Reno is just stating the obvious!

It’s high time we call out this selective outrage. When tragedy strikes in the East, silence reigns, but let it be elsewhere and Peter Obi is quick to respond.

This hypocrisy is glaring, and it’s refreshing to see someone like Reno unmask it. If we truly want unity, then every life lost should matter equally, regardless of where it happens. Time for accountability!
Peter obi needs to question tinubus competency for failing to tackle the insecurity in this country especially in the south east, tinubu has failed south east Nigerians
