Let me break it down for you slowly. Coartem is like what Panadol is to generic paracetamol tablet brands like Emzor Paracetamol tablets, which are cheap and effective. At a time that 10 tablets of panadol was N1,500, ten tablets of Emzor paracetamol was around N150.

These generic brands are effective as well as affordable. Most of them cost between N2k and N3k. You should have gone for that since you can't afford Coartem which is the innovator brand like the Rolls Royce of Arthemether Lumefantrine ACT. Same way you can get some generic antihypertensive medicine brands for N1,500, another brand of same medicine can be as high as N20k!
