I don't think army calculate it that way. I think once you're in a new year(January) automatically you're +1, even if it's by Dec of the said year one will clock it.
Those that were at SSC/DSSC screening should throw more light on this

We all are aware of MTN newly introduced 750mb for N500 by dialing *103#. Why not go for something bigger? Migrate to MTN pulse and dial *406*2*1# then reply with 1. Note: Works only on MTN pulse.
