I went for the interview and was asked to do medicals, then Chevron went blank.
Please help me if you have any info regarding if this process is ongoing.

You are missing the point. Someone said that HR called, and another said it is a lie, that HR will send a general message. I simply asked those who have gotten to the final stage which is the medicals to confirm if they got any call from HR. This will truly confirm if the process is alive or not.

People applied for different roles so you don't expect the call to be general. The timelines might differ just as timelines differ during interviews. If you have done Medicals you have nothing to panic about. 99% of those who did Medicals would get the job. If people vying for same roles with you have done Medicals and you weren't reached out to it means you didn't cross the interview stage

Maybe we should ask @optimist2023 and @seriousbaby if they got any call from HR. They already confirmed they did their Medicals last year.

I think all the statuses are still showing active, until the entire process is completed. Someone once mentioned the roles that already received "interview invites" , and HR Generalist was one of them. This was even about a year ago, May 13, 2025 to be more precise.

If you didn't do medicals, please lower your expectations it simply means you didn't pass the previous interview

The application listed Lagos as the location, except that something changed, which may not be entirely a problem. At this point, no one knows anything. We can only keep the hope alive until we get a definite communication from official quarters. Cheers!

I pray you get to work with Chevron. All these so called desk based roles are littered everywhere offshore. We have HR specialist on the offshore. You need to understand the offshore office space in Escravos is even bigger than Topcon yard office in Warri main town. I don't know about Lagos office though. But all I'm saying is that very few core staff work permanently at the office. Even some managers do work offshore a times.

But it's all good. Let's just wait and see how everything unfolds

Even your 80%-90% is inaccurate. More than half of the roles advertised here are desk-based.

That sitting arrangement excuse is really funny lol. I gave info here about what a recently retired staff member told me about this recruitment, and someone who didn't mention any source said otherwise.
I would like for this exercise to come to an end, but for now, the truth is until you mention a reliable source, I am sticking to what someone with trusted info said which is, FORGET ABOUT THE RECRUITMENT.
I just got to the next round of NLNG recruitment and hopefully it works out for me.
I won't tie my hope here. It has proven to be a waste of precious hope doing so

Why are you so bothered about the exercise? You said it yourself that you didn't bother to show up for the interview, so let those with hope continue to hope. Don't cry more than the bereaved.

Like previously advised, take your mind off it, even though that's a very hard task. Keep the search on, and know you've officially moved to Lagos, with or without Chevron.

Yeah, for the ones that pointed out I took a big risk getting an apartment, honestly you are right. That was an impulsive decision I didn't think through at the time.

I also appreciate the advice on not waiting on Chevy forever. I just need to put myself together and start job hunting with real zeal again. Kind of sad, but reality is reality.

I hope this works out by the way. I would keep you guys posted if/when Chevron decides to respond.

Relax, if you could have waited for over a year now, give it a few more months, say till January.

If you got background checks, you'll most likely hear from them soon, except something went wrong with your checks. But tbh, you took a huge gamble on this by resigning and taking an apartment in Lagos. I hope this works out for you in the end.

House is wasting, can't seem to concentrate because every other day I am not sure if resigning from my previous job so early was the right choice.

The biometrics are part of the background checks. Medicals come afterwards, but as far as i know, and with the information available, not sure anyone has gone for medicals.

Yesterday, their interview it’s same August 18th to 21st

I am in a similar situation. We have no choice than to play the waiting game at this point. Whenever they are ready, they will provide an update.

I did receive the background check to be honest, and that is why I am still perplexed as to why it is taking forever to progress or at least send a rejection mail.
I hate to be left hanging and this has been on for about 10 months now.
At least they should respect us enough to let us know if there is a hiring freeze

Did you receive background checks? The last update I am aware of is background checks for most positions, not sure anyone has done medicals. I may be wrong though.

For those asking about petroleum engineer, yes offer has been sent to them. Extremely few numbers were selected.

Are they taking more than one person for the Finance Analyst role? If your friend has received the background checks mail, then he is good as in already, except if his checks come back negative due to misrepresentation.
