PRESS RELEASE ON BOKO HARAM SITUATION IN NORTH EAST The terrorist insurgency group, Boko Haram is yet to be defeated, degraded or decimated, this is the glaring truth that must be accepted and confronted with all sincerity, so that they can truly be defeated and decimated beyond the rhetoric. While the group is no longer gaining more grounds like it used to do during the previous administration, they are still very much alive and active. It has in our observation, adopted a different mode of operation, which is no longer about sacking communities or gaining territories, but consolidating its achievement and gaining the heart of the people in the area it has significant influence, a method that seems to be silently working in its favor, as seen in their heroic welcome in dapchi Village, when they returned the abducted Dapchi girls on 21st Marhc, 2018. Contrary to popular claims that the people were excited because the abducted girls were returned, Foundation for Peace Professionals (FPP) hold the views that, what was seen in Dapchi was not an excitement about the returned girls alone, it is indeed a welcome reception for the terrorist group, by those who willingly or unwillingly align with their ideology. In view of the situation, Foundation for Peace Professionals (FPP) wishes to prevail on the Federal Government of Nigeria and the military authorities to resist the temptation of wanting to look good before the public and the international community through claiming to have defeated Boko Haram insurgency, when available evidences doesn’t support that assertion. We appeal to government to actually concentrate on truly defeating the group, both militarily, ideologically and in the area of information warfare. It is true that significant progress has been made in the fight against Boko Haram insurgency by the current administration. However, we are compelled to observe that in government quest to paint a rosy picture of the progress, it is doing so beyond the reality on ground, thereby beclouding itself from the reality stirring the general public in the face. Boko Haram got a heroic welcome in Dapchi village, Yobe State, North East Nigeria after they returned 105 abducted Dapchi girls last week. The terrorist group drove in with style like actors in action movies, with their bloody black flag, socked with blood of innocent Nigerians waving with confidence, yet on the soil of Nigeria. To our understanding, this is not a sign of defeat, but that of the opposite. In a video widely circulated on social media, excited locals were seen struggling to get close to Boko Haram vehicle in other to touch it like a sort of celebrities and those that did got close was seen touching the terrorists with passion and praying for them to succeed. ‘’May God assist you in your mission’’ some locals prayed in Hausa language. One Hundred and Ten (110) Dapchi girls were abducted by Boko Haram on February 19th 2018 from Government Girls Science and Technical College, Dapchi and after all efforts by security agencies to rescue them alive failed, Federal Government of Nigeria entered into a successful negotiation with the group, leading to the return of the girls on Wednesday, 21st March, 2018. Out of 110 girls abducted, 105 were returned amid wide jubilation by the people, while the remaining 5 were reportedly dead. Upon dropping the girls in Dapchi town besides a police station, the terrorists, according to reports preached for almost an hour to a large crowd of people before driving away. In another video posted on Sahara Reporters online media platform, crowd of sympathizers in Dapchi town were seen praising Boko Haram commanders for their efforts and praying for them to succeed in their agenda. The report also said that the group warned parents to desist from taking their children to school. A careful analysis of that event by Foundation for Peace Professionals (FPP) indicates that the entrance of Boko Haram to Dapchi town with their flag right up is a psychological victory for the group and a blow of Nigeria. It re-enforces the fact that they are still in control in some areas and failure to abide by their directives open the people to their wrath. Who dare listen to the government, when the terrorist group is clearly in charge? Who dare disregard the group in those areas, when they can kidnap and return over 100 people at will? This is contrary to claim of government that Boko Haram has been defeated. In December 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari says Nigeria has "technically won the war" against Islamist Boko Haram militants. Despite public disagreement with the authority’s claim in line with the reality of the insurgency’s operation, President Buhari insisted in 2016 that Boko Haram has been defeated, yet almost 3,000 people were killed by Boko Hara in that year alone. However, this didn’t prevent the president from reiterating that Boko haram has been defeated in the New Year broadcast of 2017. “We have since beaten Boko Haram,” he declares. However, more than 1000 others were killed by the group in 2017. Similarly, in January 2018, the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai restated the widely held stance by federal officials that the Boko Haram has been defeated. Again in February 2018, Military authorities announced that the Nigerian army has completely defeated Boko Haram insurgents in the country. The Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Rogers Nicholas said this during the inauguration of the Nigeria-Cameroon military joint mission in Maiduguri, Borno State capital. However, barely a week, after military announced again, that it has totally defeated the insurgency, Boko Haram kidnapped more than 100 school girls in Dapchi village, indicating that they still operate very freely in some areas. We contend that, if the group can confidently kidnap more than 100 students without any interference, despite the heavy presence of the military across the North east, that tells any sincere observer that the government claim of defeating Boko Haram is further from be truth. We call on the government to accept the reality of the situation and mobilize all Nigerians behind it in its quest to truly defeating the group and restoring peace and order. Foundation for Peace Professionals (FPP) will support any efforts by government to truly end the ongoing insurgency. psucc:Again, this is another false notion. Although, people like you, who are far away may think this way, The Saraki dynasty themselves can tell you better. Kindly approach them to ask what Kwara Must Change is all about. For the purpose of this discuss, Kwara Must Change is far beyond people seeking to cut share from any cake. If it is all about cake, by now, they should already be eating cake. Everyone following the kwara political situation would tell you that, Saraki camp had attempted to buy off the group many times without any success. When they failed in buying the leader, they tried getting few of the middle leaders with the aim of breaking the group, but to their surprise, even those ones refused to be bought. Even when they try to use the traditional institutions to coerce them in, they refused. So, what cake are you talking about? Kwara Must Change is too focused on the major task |

psucc:This is a baseless proponent. Absolutely unfounded. Kwara Must Change has no link with Lagos or any other state whatsoever. It is 100% Kwara based. A simple investigation would avail you with this basic information. While it is true that some Kwarans based in Lagos and Abuja have also connected to Kwara Must Change advocacy, they only got to know the group from the media. So, if you want to know whether or not Kwara Must Change is grounded in Kwara, go to the street of Kwara and ask about the group. Hardly would you talk to 10 people before seeing a Kwara Must Change member. Finally, do not assume based on your imagination, get down to the grassroot. Kwara Must Change |
psucc:That is exactly what am asking because there is nothing pertaining to Lagos in the post. So, you should be able to tell us the connection between what was posted and your reference to Lagos. |
gratefulheart:It appeared you are confusing you are confusing yourself. Kwara Must Change is the major deal now. It is not involve in your past election as cliamed |
psucc:What concerns Lagos in the matter? |

Saraki cannot chose governor for Kwara in 2019 https://mrrightsng..com.ng/2018/03/saraki-cannot-chose-governor-for-kwara.html Kwara Must Change wishes to assure all Kwarans that for the first time in recent history, the people will be the sole determinant of their leaders come 2019. This assurance became necessary due to the activities of some political jobbers, who are proving themselves enemy of the people by attempting to sell the future of the state as they have always done by usurping the democratic right of the people to choose their own leaders. A group, which called itself Coalition of Registered Political Parties in Kwara State reportedly called on Senate President Bukola Saraki to intervene in the choice of governorship candidate in the state. The group made the call in a letter written to Saraki which was signed by its coordinator, Alhaji Ahmed Abdullahi and widely reported across the media. Kwara Must Change hereby condemn such an undemocratic call in the strongest term and we are informing the inconsequential group that never again, will Saraki or any individual be allowed to choose governor for the state. The decision of who govern the state is a collective decision of the people of Kwara State and not an individual. In the letter written to Bukola Saraki by the group as published, they claimed that without Saraki recent intervention, the entire state would collapsed. However, we wish to state categorically that the state has already collapsed due to the bad leadership of Saraki and that of his protege, Abdulfatai Ahmed, owing to bad leadership that has lasted almost 16 years. Kwara Must Change is confident more than ever before, that the 2019 general election will be differently purposeful. Not only will be Saraki or any individual be denied of opportunity to usurp peoples right to choose their leaders across all positions, they will equally be shown the exit door as the people ascertain their sovereignty. Nobody will pay you to serve you, Presidential aspirant tell Nigerians https://mrrightsng..com.ng/2018/03/nobody-is-pay-you-to-serve-you.html A Presidential aspirant under Action Democratic Party (ADP), Engr. Mathias Tsado has counsel Nigerians to understand that, no true servant, who genuinely want to serve the people will pay the same people for votes. Mathias stated this on his facebook social media account today, while expressing his views on the 2019 general election and the impact of money politics. According to him, ''How can someone who genuinely wants to serve you pay you to give him the opportunity to serve you?'' He urges Nigerians to think about this for a moment and improve their conduct and how they approach elections. Mathias Tsado had recently released a thought provoking manifesto which seek among other things, the removal of Nigerian police from the control of the executive to the judiciary to avoid executive abuse. He also promise to open the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to the general public and list it on the stock exchange. |
Kwara Youths urges Yaman Abdullahi to join Governorship race https://mrrightsng..com.ng/2018/03/kwara-youths-urges-yaman-abdullahi-to.html Youths in the 3 senatorial districts of Kwara State have urged Alhaji Yaman Abdullahi, a businessman and frontline politician to step into the 2019 governorship race in order to protect the interest of the people. The group, under the aegis of Kwara Ready for Change (KRC) made this known in a statement issued during the weekend in Ilorin by its coordinators in the 3 Senatorial Districts namely, Ismail Zakariyau (Kwara Central), Mallam Nasirudeen Abiola (Kwara North) and Mrs Shade Sanni (kwara South). The group said they believe that the next governor of Kwara state should come from Kwara North in the interest of fairness and justice. ‘’Since Nigeria’s return to democratic governance in 1999, Kwara Central has governed the state for 12years, Kwara South is completing its 8 years in 2019 and it is only natural for Kwara North to take over in 2019’’. They also added that, having searched through Kwara North for a worthy candidate capable of leading the state to greater height, they believe only an ideological person like Alhaji Yaman can rally people together across the state and get the job done. ''If visionary people like Yaman Abdullahi is not encouraged to step into the governorship race from Kwara North, the space would be filled by unworthy people to the detriment of the people'' the group said, adding that, the best of Kwara North should be the ones at the fore front not the other way round. They urge Yaman to put public interest ahead of his personal preservation in the business world. ‘’Alhaji Yaman Abdullahi is a very successful business man who would rather face his business on a normal day, but we urge him to put public interest ahead, by listening to the voice of the people’’. |
