Those who think he'll be like every other Nigerian when he gets there are closed-minded.They don't have the single-minded efficacy of progressives.
When a breath of fresh air comes, you savour it,you give that person the benefit of the doubt first.
Britain gave Tony Blair that benefit. So did Americans concerning Obama and France concerning Macron.

U are correct about Apc and Pdp bt the issues here is not what they stand for bt the political weight they have been able to build ahead of the elections.

The 3rd force has not reach critical mass to cause the necessary impact on the elections ahead is my point. The crediblity of the 3rd force is still awhole different discussion.
This is your opinion, which i respect. But i think this 2019 will not be about APC and PDP

Olawepo-Hashim promises South-East additional state

The presidential candidate of the People’s Trust, Mr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, on Friday promised that within six months of assuming office, he would create a legislative framework for the creation of one more state for the South-East.

He said the step became necessary because only the South-East has five states out of the six geopolitical zones in the country, when others have at least six states.

According to a statement made available to journalists, Olawepo-Hashim made the promise during a visit to Enugu State ahead of the commencement of his nationwide campaign.

The presidential candidate promised the people of the region that he would introduce measures that would heal their wounds and make Nigeria truly united.

He said there was the need for equity in the country.

He said, “2019 elections will be unusual, in the sense that it is almost a referendum on the future of Nigeria, on its peace and stability, on its security, on its continuity and of course, most importantly, about the prosperity of Nigeria.

“The South-East zone is very crucial. The way we handle issues that affect us and are germane to the people would determine whether we will continue to live in unity and peace as an indivisible entity.

“And of course, there have been a lot of wounds in this part of Nigeria. People carry a lot of wounds. Just like a lot of communities in Nigeria and states also carry some kinds of wounds.

“But there is no other place in Nigeria where these wounds are so deep as we have in the South-East of Nigeria.”

The candidate said he was committed to uniting Nigeria and reconciling the people so that they could face the task of national development.

He noted that as long as people from any part of the country feel they were conquered people, so would the difficult task of nation building become more challenging.

Olawepo-Hashim said the purpose of his visit to the South-East was to tell the people that there is a presidential candidate committed to healing the wounds of the region.

He added that his administration would decentralise power in the country within six months by amending the exclusive and the concurrent legislative lists to ensure that states have greater roles in resource mobilisation and deployment.

Apart from the South-East, he said Nigeria needed security urgently now that out of the 19 northern states, only six currently enjoy some level of stability.

“One of the reasons why killings go on endlessly in Nigeria is the fact that nobody is brought to book when they commit murder.

“That is why some say the lives of Nigerians have become so cheap. Under our Presidency, the lives of all Nigerians will be equal,” he said.

LiteratureI No Be Madam, A Story By Abdulrazaq Hamzat by mrrights(op): 5:16pm On Dec 27, 2018
I no be madam

The office assistant, in an organisation i had engagement is an hard working lady who tries to be as active as she can be.

The keys of the office is in her custody and she often come to the office early in the morning for cleaning and maintenance, then she closes very late.

Her name is Joy. Not her real name.

In my usual way of addressing everylady as a madam, particularly in official settings, i also do address Joy as madam.

Joy is that happy lady, whose face is always full of laughter and hardly can you go to the office without seeing her.

She assist in buying food and often going and coming without ever complaining.

But unknown to me, she doesn't like the fact that i address her as madam.

Actually, she has been looking for ways to voice out her displeasure with that title without offending me.

One day, when i was alone in the office, my head buried on the computer and she brought in some food for me.

As she was about walking out of the office, i raised up my head and said, thank you madam.

She suddenly paused, turned back gently and said with a forced smile on her face, "i no be madam".

I can see beyond the smile.

I noticed she didn't like that title at all and it annoys her, but she couldn't express how angry she is.

She had to put up a smile to express her frustration and i want to find out why.

After a brief moment of silence, i responded to her by saying that, you are a madam now, if u no be madam, watin you be?

I be Joy, she fired back.

Without waiting for me to say another word, she emphasised in a more friendly voice, "i no be madam".

This time, she didn't stop at that. She went on to explain.

"Why you go dey call me madam na? Me, i no be madam ooo. See madam here, pointing to the office of the Secretary of the organisation and there, to the office of another senior staff.

I understand her frustration. She doesn't think she deserve to bear the same title as those amazing ladies. It's just unimaginable in her world.

In my response, i said to her, you are also a madam.

Yes, those ladies you mentioned are madam in their own right, but that doesn't make you less madam.

She looked confused, murmuring to herself, me, madam? then i continued.

Madam is not a title, neither is it an office designation. It is just a way of addressing women with respect.

It is not only those with high offices that deserves respect, everyone does deserve some respect including you. So, you are also a madam.

She looked at me in a way, smiled, then walked away.

Till date, i remember her as a madam and she never complained ever again

Christianity EtcWe Can't Celebrate Jesus Enough- Abdulrazaq Hamzat by mrrights(op): 11:20am On Dec 25, 2018
We can't celebrate Jesus enough

If Jesus Christ wasn't born today as some people claim and using that to justify their decision not to celebrate Christmas, i am now asking them, when was Jesus born and do they celebrate him on that day?

For me, i celebrate Christmas with all our Christian friends celebrating it today and i wish everyone happiness during this holiday season.

If you are celebrating Jesus on another day, please notify me to join the celebration.

We can't celebrate Jesus enough.

Christmas is a period of joy and happiness for majority of our people and even if you think Jesus wasn't born today to warrant any celebration, share in the joy and happiness of our people.

Human joy and happiness is worth celebrating

So, here is to wish you all a Merry Christmas, a blessed season and a prosperous New Year ahead.

Abeg, if you have people who don't celebrate Christmas, please send me the gift on their behave.

I do celebrate Christmas. I do celebrate double Christmas. I also do celebrate multiple Christmas. In other words, for every person who don't celebrate Christmas, i celebrate Christmas on their behave, so let me receive the gift on their behave also.

You see ehnn, the Lord who has seen you through this 2018 will surely perfect your ways in 2019 and beyond.

His blessings shall abide by you all the way.

Happy Christmas
