Education / Re: Steps For Document Authentication In Ministry Of Education And Foreign Affairs by Mrychz52(m): 5:59am On May 02, 2023
How does it work, do I need to get my transcript from the school and bring it in person or request the school to send it by courier to the MOE for authentication?
AglowRaph:

So, I just finished authenticating my document with both Ministry of Education(MOE) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MOFA) yesterday being 19th July, 2021.

This guide was very helpful - I must say and I am grateful to the person that wrote it.

I just have some input to make in addition to his own guidelines. You can also view it as an update.

At first, I got to the MOE building and before going upstairs, you can visit https://ess.education.gov.ng/#/ and register to book an appointment with MOE. After your registration, you could sign in, upload your scanned documents that you would love to verify. Make payment online. If you have a MasterCard or cards that support online transaction, it is best. After that, print the remita and the appointment slip. That's why you have to do this either at home or before climbing up stairs.

Like the former writer wrote, the evaluation and authentication office is at the 8th floor. I used the elevator. So... before you go climbing the stairs, make sure you try the elevator first.
I guess the thought of public holiday did not make people visit the MOE that much but I could count upto 80-90 of us that were at the MOE. They usually sort between those for evaluation and those for authentication (more preference).

The documents for authentication is individualized. It all depends on you and what you are applying for. I had authenticated my WAEC, Degree Certificate, and Transcript. They do not authenticate HEALTH CERTIFICATE or POLICE SECURITY CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE at the MOE. They only authenticate educational related materials. So, do not make the mistake of uploading it online for MOE.

As for WAEC authentication, those whose WAEF results are less than 5 years are required to pay for a scratch card but if your WAEC results is above 5 years (and you have your original), you won't be required to purchase any scratch card.

I successfully authenticated everything with MOE that same day. The secret lies in going to the MOE on time and very early.

After authentication with MOE, I just walked to MOFA. I was directed to meet someone by someone at MOE. I called him and he collected by documents. Including HEALTH AND POLICE CHARACTER CERTIFICATES.

I waited for about 3-4 hours and I got my credentials.
The amount as stated by the writer is N1000 per document. In my case, I was charged N500 per page.

I wish this info will be helpful to someone just as the former writers post was to me.

Thanks a lot for the insight. I showed a proof
of relationship with the sponsor and cited her in my sop.
Anon123:

Sincerely sorry for your denial. Reading your profile, your agent doesnt know JACK cos he or she gave you a wrong information and also oukd have advised you on stuffs you mentioned here that you shouldnt have.

1) You not including your own bank statement with a "thriving registered business" nd married is a red flag and denial will definitely be on finance/assets.
2) Your sponsor, did you show relationship between you and the sponsor and pointed it out on your sop?
3) You mentioned that you have dependents outside your family. The VO seeing this will deny you on finance because he sees no reason how you can fund your canada study dreams, your family and the dependents. Your agent should have advised you from MAKING THIS KNOWN. These visa officers judge applications based on docs submitted and all you said on the sop. Therefore you just shot your self on the leg here.

Furthermore having dependents and not including your own bank statements is another red flag cos it will be seen that you do not have money for this and you are totally dependent on your sponsor for everything as regards to studying in canada.

To reapply, order for your notes first and you will see the visa officer's concerns. it going to be hard to address this cos the dependents mentioned are already on record but if you can include your own bank statement with a significant amount. You have a chance.

before the Gurus will add ,let me say that Agent was wrong dear.A married man with a wife and two kids applying for study permit without adding his statement of account to show u r financially responsible and ur wife and kids will be well taken care of when u r away and that u are not going there to hustle is a red flag. The gurus in the last thread advised that matured applicants even if u r sponsored should at least submit salary account or business account as the case may be.

It seems the majority of Canadian study visa refusal at this time borders on Personal Assets and Financial Status. I was also refused on the same grounds. Applied on the 16th May, 2021. The refusal message dropped on the 10th September after a long waiting. Please my fellow Nairalanders I solicit for your candid advice, before I reapply I want to dot all i and cross all Ts. In my first application a step-sister
stood as a sponsor with affidavit of support. Her company's bank account statement that worth about 20m was used, I didn't see the bank statements though. It was sent directly to the embassy by her Bank and a ticket number was generated of which I uploaded in my application. A paid traveling agent assisted me in filling my application. He discouraged me from including my Personal and business Bank statement since I already have a sponsor that has an active account with a reasonable amount of money. Could that be the reason why the visa was refused? Am married with two children, not accompanying and I manage a registered thriving business in one of the busiest metropolitan cities in the country and I showed all the CAC documents. Including our marriage and birth cert and that of the kids. Parents are late and as the first child I still have dependent siblings and I mentioned all that in my SOP. My addimission extends until Winter 2022 and I want to reapply.
Please, your sincere advice on how to tackle it ones and for all is urgently needed, thanks.

This is the same reason I got too but I have ordered for my GCMC note

Hi guys,
Greetings.
I have followed this app behind the scene for quite some time. Sincerely, I must confess that God gave some gifts to men and they're indeed using it helping humanity. The professional advice you give out here are top notch and they're free o, Kia!

To God be the glory. My study permit application was refused on the 10th of September. I applied in May 16th, biometric 25th May.

I want to reapply but I have learned that it's expedient to order for gcms note before I re-fire

Please, I need advice on whom to address the letter to and to the email to send to.

Thank you.
