As an up and coming artist, it is important that you make use of all available opportunities to promote yourself and your brand. One of such is the use of social media. Several social media channels provides  free and easy way to reach millions of potential fans. However not every aspiring up and coming feels it is worth investing on, many use their Facebook to chat, and Instagram to slay. In marketing this involves targeting a particular set of people. As an artist, you can use sicail media for reaching out to the people who love music related to your kind. When celebrities post pictures or videos, comment and like them. Your comment could be criticism or fair appraisal. Some celebrities might block or delete your comments, but you have passed your message. People may respond to your view, the more your name appears, the more likely you’ll increase your fan base.

Recently #LazyNigerianYouths and #Accolades trended on twitter.  Many used the avenue to advertise their products. I saw people advertising T-shirts, Graphic design many products. Using such HarshTag you can also advertise your song. People viewing the trending harshtag will also see your post. 2 out of 10 may likely click on your profile, or follow you if you have sensible posts. Result? You get more audience interested in you.

Do Cover for Popular Songs
Recently, I came across a cover of Davido’s If I was so marveled, the lady did it perfectly that you may even say she did it better than Davido. A lot of artistes have made it to the front line due to covers they did on popular songs. Many already now this trick, so you need to make yours outstanding. Celebrities are even bringing out new challenges to promote their songs, whenever you have such opportunity key in to it.

Understand the Trend
The rise of Swing kind of Afro Pop became popular when Runtown released “Mad Over You.” Did you know that before Davido released If, which was produced by Tekno, he ventured into what he called “Afro Fussion”?  I spoke with a producer recently and he told me he had worked on so many unreleased songs by celebrities. I asked he why, he said trend changes. Celebrities key in to trends, when a particular kind of song is trending, key in to it as well.

Every fan wants to stay informed about news relating to you, and there is no better platforms for that than  social media. For instance, they want to know about when your next song is dropping, the latest jewelries, accessories, cloths you just acquired.  Social media makes it possible for you to keep your fans  up to date with what is happening in around your hood. This is the secret to the success of people like Falz, Davido, Craze Clown. They make use of social media to create a buzz anytime they want to launch a new product and in no time, the information has gone viral with customers waiting excitedly for the launch date.

Here are photos of smoke from an oil bunkery boat burnt by the Nigerian Navy according to sources.

Incident took place this morning along Woji flyover, close to Golf Estate early 7AM this mornining (Thursday April 26, 2018).

There had been outcry over the recurrent soot in the oil rich state capital.

According to unconfirmed reports, the Nigerian army burnt the boat which contained unconfirmed quantity of diesel suspected to be from illegal refineries.

However, when resident called the fire service to extinguish the fire, the source revealed that the Navy, who were at the spot prevented the fire service team from doing their job.

There had been accusations and counter accusations by the Rivers State Government that the security agencies are responsible for the soot, as they keep burning illegal refineries indiscriminately without considering the environmental hazard. However, the state nor the federal government have not come up with a lasting solution, either to stop the illegal refineries or the source of the soot without causing harms.

Masterkraft teams up with Tamba Hali on this new single titled Funkie.

Talented Nigerian producer, Masterkraft, is out with this new record titled “Funkie” which is obviously a very groovy record.

On Funkie he collaborates with Tamba Hali an American football linebacker of Liberian descent.

Davido takes “Fia” worldwide with the remix featuring international star, Stefflon Don.

It’s quite obvious that DMW’s boss, Davido is certainly the king of Nigeria’s Afro-pop as he keeps churning hits after hits. Revisiting his November 2017 released song titled Fia, Davido enlists British rapper, singer and songwriter of Jamaican descent, Stefflon Don for the remix of the Fresh VDM produced song.

Stefflon Don is notably known for her last hit, Hurtin’ Me which has French Montana on it. On this remix she samples a line from her previous song, but trust me, this is pure fire on Fia, no pun intended.

Nigerian rapper, Phyno enlists Jamaican act, Kranium on new single titled “One Chance”.

After acquiring and Rolls Royce Phantom and just coming through after his latest record titled Isi Ego, Penthauze recording artist, Phyno dishes out this new banging record titled One Chance.The new record is produced by favourite man on keys, Kezyklef. One Chance features Jamaican reggae and dancehall singer, Kranium who is notably known for his 2013 hit, “Nobody Has To Know”.
